I use a ratcheting wrench on the set screws not the allen wrench that comes with the puller and I tape the motor leads together so they go through the flex without an issue. It only takes a minute and it saves a little frustration. I don't need a puller often but I'm glad to have it when I do.
Solid point!! I actually just got a little wiha set that I now use for the set screws because that Allen wouldn’t fit the angles sometimes. I like that that taping of the leads idea, thanks 👍
4.09 to 6.25 is 50 secs ?? Dude…. It’s on now… this should be fun. Prepare to be schooled. Anyway, set that puller up on a rusted blower… not as easy as an outdoor fan by far. First off, I’ll do what you just did in a fraction of the time. Then, I’ll do a really tough one and challenge you to compete. This should be fun !!
Im down for it 😂 Now the time stamps you provided were from the time I broke the lock screw, so at 4:09 is when I started to work on getting the fan off. And to the 6:25 still ain't that bad from start to finish. But what I said “from setup to start maybe a minute” which I said at 6:44 I start at 5:34 with puller on the hub tighten the locking screws and it’s off by 6:25 Don’t forget I live in Florida with the amount of humidity all year and the salt in the air, that shaft was rusted as hell, you can see it. Without using any spray or needing to clean it, that puller pulled it right off. By the time your done letting the spray set up and doing all that, this system will be back up and running and on to the next call!! If the puller is needed I’ll pull, if not I won’t it’s just that easy brother Ted 🫡
You’re definitely delusional there my friend. And the old man is going to teach you a lesson. Stay tuned! And anyway, the shaft was not even sticking through at all not even an eighth of an inch. I could’ve knocked that thing out in 10 seconds or less and you can’t tighten your set bolts, which is also counterproductive anyway, in that period of time. Either way reaching down inside of a blower will be a lot harder than the outdoor blade in the open. I’m going to make two or three videos and if you can beat one, I will buy you any kind of puller you want and ship it to you.
@TedCookHVAC looking good at 61 dude, hope my hair stays around that long 🤣 . If it doesn’t start moving with a wrench in the hub I just get the puller, I find it easier, generally 9/10 I don’t need it!!
Damn dude you should ended that video with a Slim Jim😅... Mr. Macho Man Savage would be proud. I'm Watching your video as I'm heading home from a nightmare of a overtime call at a grocery store. Sometimes I miss residential for this very reason. No easy in and out on calls with refer😢
If wasn’t on video would have stuck the shaft into the ground and then cleaned it off ! Kidding just been there trying to fight it in 113 temps ! Good job bro .
