I JUST GUESSED | HVAC | small van upgrade | Lennox blower motor
In this video, I go on a service call where the customer noticed that the upstairs unit was running hot. Want arrival found that the suction side was freezing over. Suspected either a refrigerant leak being that it was a Lennox system or a bad ECM motor. Once upstairs found that the blower motor was not running. It did appear to be receiving the call. Although I wasn’t able to determine if it was receiving the proper 24 V or not. But the system was under warranty and there was a local supply house nearby went and retrieve the motor. Returned and replaced it and while I was at it, I cleaned the blower wheel. Got the system back

MAJOR ISSUE found on MAINTENANCE | HVAC | Carrier evaporator coil replacement
Переглядів 2,7 тис.День тому
In today’s video, I returned to a call in which I went out to do a maintenance. During the maintenance, I asked my general questions about the systems performance, and the homeowner indicated that it wasn’t keeping up to temp during the afternoons systems pressures and them to be lower than normal for the ambient temperature. Performed a leak directly at the evaporator coil as that’s where I te...

In today’s video, I go to a commercial space where the temperature inside was reading 84. The customer would reset the breakers and the system would tend to work. The initial inspection of the unit found that the coil was dirty and the head pressure was extremely high. Needed water access, but there was none on the premises so had to run home and pick up my portable M2 sprayer. Once I return to...
CONDENSER WONT START | HVAC | Carrier unit DOA due to REPTILE DAMAGE

In today’s video, I go out to a call where the customer is letting us know that the condenser won’t start. Upon initial inspection, checked all the typical fail points, such as float, switch, and capacitor. Check the voltage coming into the board, but no voltage was present leaving the board and sending voltage back to the Condenser contactor. Was rained out and couldn’t finish the video and sh...
IT COULD BE WORSE| HVAC | blower motor PULL and CLEAN

In today’s video, I returned to a call that I was previously on where I replaced the capacitor. Upon check in the capacitor I checked over the rest of the system to see if there’s any more issues to keep the unit running as long as possible. Came across the blower wheel, which was extremely dirty. By cleaning the blower wheel it frees up the weight that’s running on the motor. Also helps the ai...

In today’s video I returned back to a job from a previous video in which I went out for a second opinion. The customer was told that the part is no longer made, it’s very expensive, and the unit was out of warranty. Needless to say, none of those issues were true and they make aftermarket components for this system if that was the case and just about any other system out there aside from commun...
MASSIVE BUSINESS ISSUE | HVAC | Day In The Life | maintenance, ECM failure, drain line

And today’s video I discussed the issues we’ve been having with our tracking numbers, which has hindered the business quite a bit. Also perform a maintenance, nothing crazy. I go to a service call in which I don’t show anything in terms of what was happening, but I did film a video so stay tuned for that. And went to a clogged drain line with a failed float switch that was causing her Florida b...

WRONG DIAGNOSTIC causes BIG problems | HVAC | failed Rheem control board
Переглядів 3,8 тис.Місяць тому
In today’s video, we have ourselves a no cool call. No matter what the customer did with the thermostat the system would not operate. My initial thoughts were right to the thermostat, that it was the issue because once I jumped it out from the control board in the air handler (instead of jumping it out at the thermostat), I would’ve known that. It was not my initial thought. So after diagnosing...

Thanks so much your time to share for us!!!! Wish you have more video !!! Thanks thanks again
Definitely have had that happen up in chicago. Same brand. Cheap ass disconnects.
So the up light did nothing
Should have started and stayed on slow recovery until liquid was pulled then switched to fast recovery. Keeps compressor from getting hammered. It has an auto cutoff at a set vacuum to let you know it's done.
I had 14 red flashed and I flipped jumpers and it fixed it But now once awhile I get 15 red flashes on the EVC and 5 red flashes on the AFC. I shut power down and the 15 fixes itself but the 5 on the AFC is still happening. The 15 on the EVC says its configuration fault check PM error. What's that?
It only failed if the tech did it wrong. I’ve got 100s of fittings out there and never had a leak
Per the manufacturer, they emailed me about how thrilled they were with the installation!! But I will say it’s would be my error in terms of the application and location. Not ideal when there’s neglectful others who aren’t as aware of their surroundings
Ok what is the part number for the bit holder on the backside of that milwaukee power tool. Or is that home made?
That is a 3d printed piece I got years ago, saw it on a vcg construction video
nice!
lol love the patrician wall. I’ve Got the bucket ready at all times with a lid, trash bag and kitty litter. 🤙🏻🫡
I need to stock up on supplies like that 😅
@@KoolinwithKrauss Nah, you need one of those portable camping toilets that flushes with its own 5-gallon water supply. Then when convenient, you just take that to a regular throne and dump it.
did that to my milwaukee pa(k out bent the handle. still bent.
Dang no way?! 😆 still rockin and rolling?
Love the content bro! Filmed with Go Pro?
Much appreciated 🫡 this was filmed on iPhone 13, I do occasionally use the GoPro
when I did resi my company was a lennox dealer. The amount of coils I replaced my first summer that werent even a year old was insanity. Lennox leaks baby. As a first year tech I learned a lot lol
That’s the absolute truth, same here my first full service year it was Lennox coils left and right 😳
Where did you get that low voltage device?
True tech tools originally! It’s the jumper king by supco 👍
I run a small business full service restaurant equipment company In Birmingham and see that device could be very helpful. By the way love the videos.
Just picked up both at a great deal 30 for the metric and 35 for the SAE. Thanks for the content
Let go, fantastic deal 💪
Like that new cut son
Thanks pops 🫡 nice little trim to keep it together 😂
those lennox elite communicating systems can be tricky, especially when they dont stage up with the blower, you have to narrow it down to the thermostat, the indoor control board, the outdoor communication board, or wiring interference, communication loss, there is a jumper on them for " test or charge mode"
Yeah it was strange when I was thinking about normal operation of other communicating systems but definitely something I’ll need to train up on 😅
That last half a percent of efficiency is just not worth all the added complexity and expense. Good fix.
Isn’t that the truth 🤦♂️ more time down and non operational then it is running effectively it seems
Nice wood. Good job Krauss.
The best wood I’d say 🤣 thanks mark 🫡
I never understand people that don't turn off their systems when they are not working. Maybe they think some HVAC leprechaun is going to sneak inside their system and magically make it start blowing cold or hot again? No idea the thought process there. There is a serious lack of education on HVAC for homeowners. Stay safe out there and thanks for the video.
It’s funny you say that!! I have a video I’ll be editing soon where I say exactly that 🤦♂️ frozen back to compressor all the way up, just lack of common sense. But that’s expected I guess should really be a basic class you need to take to become a homeowner!! Appreciate you brother
Oh I know. Ordered a toilet bucket with seat and bags. 👀 sometimes you don't have time 😬
Thought about grabbing one of those and the packet of shit to sprinkle over it 🤣 😂 never know 🤷♂️

Ok so what’s the difference between Klein 32500HDRT and Klein 32500HDRTG???? Funny thing is as of this writing, the “HDRTG” type doesn’t even come up on Kleins website….yet I just picked up the “HDRTG” type at Lowe’s today. Confused….what does the “G” mean??
Not quite sure, but I had a hard time getting this then, as when I went to the register they de-kleined to sell to me because of a recall apparently, was able to go to a different location and get so maybe that has something to do with it not 100% sure tho!
I hope your customers don’t get blown away !
😅 ain’t that the truth 😂
Definitely a system where you need to read the book a bit.
That’s for sure!!
You could showed us the circuit board air flow.
Could have, airflow was 775 (A775) 👍
The dc voltage systems always throw me off especially when it’s something that part is ac and part is dc .
Same man, that’s what I had going on 🤷♂️ figured what the hell we will make this work 😂
@@KoolinwithKrauss yeah just always takes a minute more to figure out what’s going on .
I replace those motors a lot in Tampa because of power surges or high static in the ductwork or both.
Makes sense man for sure! I’ve been trying to get folks to get surge protection and or surge suppressors, especially on these type of system 🤷♂️ because safe over there 🫡
Customers just don’t like the cost of surge protectors. We started adding them to new construction and retro installations.
Also stay safe in the storm . Hope all is well
Appreciate it bro 🫡
Damnit get that van tour . Hahaha
It’s just not where I want it 😂
@@KoolinwithKrauss will it ever be exactly where you want it though haha .
Oh and brother watch your hands and arms on the condenser tops ! You will itch for days 😂
Man I looked at that shnit and thought they stopped making those tops… did they?! 😂
Especially when them tops get old 😂
@@KoolinwithKrauss yeah the new series of EL and SL still have them but not fiberglass it’s composite something or the other . The older ones , 4 yrs in the Florida sun and it turns into a techs worst nightmare. Those motors looked ruff also they now have the non painted top grills . Next time we have a Lennox class you’re more than welcome to come sit in with me up at the Sanford shop . The guys and management would love to meet you

Huh?! 😂
Gotta love how Carrier doesn't provide a TXV with a new coil for warranty stuff. Thanks for the video. Stay safe out there.
The worst I swear!! 🤦♂️ Appreciate ya brother same to you!
I don't seem to have that issue. The last Carrier evap that I did a few weeks ago came with the TXV installed and ready to go. In and out was easy and did a triple evac for the best results. The tech that diagnosed it could have easily fixed the leak without replacement, but I swapped it anyways for the client's sake.
Hey Jake, how is it going these days now you're not doing HVAC? For us we just warranty both the coil and TXV and so far no issues with Carrier allowing it. Take care!
@@TheGgin Still doing HVAC. I got into a couple different chiropractic medical schools. 3.5 year programs. I was going to have to leave TN with my family in order to go. I wasn't going to start until the Fall of 2025 when my daughter graduated high school and went to her first year of college. My son would be entering his junior year of high school in the Fall of 2025. I explained what happened on the first video of my new channel. Video is: My New Channel. Had to delete my old channel, close my monetization account, and make a new channel that is not monetized. Kept having constant issues with my videos on my old channel being flagged and wouldn't make any revenue. I believe my trail name being associated with my URL to my channel was causing the issues. The TXV being included depends on the Carrier dealer you are using. He mentioned in his video that the TXV was not included. He got one of those coils you have to put together yourself. I hope all is well on your end.
Glad to see you are still doing HVAC! Found your channel and thanks for the update. Take care!

Dude! Get you some tarps or moving blankets from the harbor freight!
What’s wrong with the cardboard and booties?! 😂 I have some, was the new van and didn’t switch it over
Don’t all the coils from carrier come with the TXV already mounted?
Negative, in my experience I’ve never gotten one! Only manufacture I’ve had that issue with. Generally I like to order both, but with carrier … 😅
For me here in Denver, the warranty coils do come with the TXV mounted and ready to go. Thankfully, I haven't had the issue of having to move it over.
Why put old txv valve onto new unit? Wouldn't just put new one on?
You must not be familiar with carrier build your own coil replacement
There wasn’t a metering issue, there was a leaking issue! Usually tho I like to get them both and replace both, but carrier 😡 pain in the arce

I have a tray, im good 😂 But yeah much better now, no issues 👍
I want to replace my almost 5 year Armorflex at the condensers in So. Fl. What do you think is the best and should I use UV tape over it? It would need the seamed stuff obviously. :) Give up your trade secrets! 2 Carriers here also.
Why do you want to replace it by chance? I get the uv rated stuff for the condensers, not harm if you cut it and zip tie it.
