Spider-Man 2 / Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) gives up his crime-fighting identity of Spider-Man in a desperate attempt to return to ordinary life and keep the love of MJ (Kirsten Dunst). But a ruthless, terrifying new villain, the multi-tentacled Doc Ock, forces Peter to swing back into action to save everything he holds dear. / In SPIDER-MAN 2, the latest installment in the blockbuster Spider-Man series, based on the classic Marvel Comics hero, Tobey Maguire returns as the mild-mannered Peter Parker, who is juggling the delicate balance of his dual life as college student and a superhuman crime fighter. Peter's life becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the brilliant Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) who has been reincarnated as the maniacal and multi-tentacled "Doc Ock." When Doc Ock kidnaps MJ (Kirsten Dunst), Spider-Man must swing back into action as the adventure reaches new heights of unprecedented excitement.

"Let mom and dad talk to for a minute will ya" "Eat your green vegetables" "Hate those things" "I guess you haven't heard, I'm the sheriff around these parts" then "Where do all these guys come from" tbh A lot of the bully maguire memes are quips.
Also the problem with web shooters is that, like what Raimi/Tobey has already said in interviews, if Peter did develop webshooters tech and the web fluid, why would he need to be poor when those techs are so advanced that he could sell them? He would help his aunt May so she wasn't kicked out of their house. Thats why they went with the organic webbing scenario. It fit the plot.

Tobey's webs are more rubbery. U can see when something is going fast and he webs them they like stretch. He also did that slingshot thing in this scene. The train scene is the perfect example. The train literally traveled for minutes with all those webs still attached to the houses, and they just kept stretching.
Garfields webs are more rigid and not so stretchy. Compare the scenes where Garfield does the slingshoty thing. The webs barely stretch.
      What difference does it make?

A mad scientist with a master plan robs a bank in broad daylight using only his sci-fi appendages to tank all the damage. Hero just happens to be there and ready with some quick wits and pluck. The day is saved not through raw strength, but because the hero's trying to save his loved one and she's part of where he gets the fighting spirit from. Still holds up even today.

There’s no need for the cookie cutter forces theater gags, the movie contains naturally paced out comedy bare and simple. MCU spider-man ain’t got shit except BEING APART OF THE MCU. @@Dracogame I fucking knew you would say that, but notice how serious it takes the scene though though it doesn’t break the story it doesn’t fuck up the pacing. It’s an indirect joke, comedy done well. Hell the only gag in this scene is Aunt may slapping the coin out of the guys hand. Its not like the MCU where bs joke has to be thrown to get the laugh count higher. Hell the writing in homecoming is hilarious because there’s a scene where peter is kicked off the team, Flash Thompson gets on his ass saying you’re not coming back because you’ve skipped too many (a perfect consequence). THEN THE TEACHER IS LIKE “oH ShiT yoU’Re bACK, WeLCOmE tO tHE TeAM aGAin”, no thats how that should work it shouldn’t be played off as a joke for no reason. Tell do you think a real person would react like that, fuck no. At least the theater gag in this scene portrays Aunt May’s character as clearly too noble and kind for her own good. We get non of that in MCU spider-man. Rami trilogy has jokes, but thats the charm it comes with when making a comic book movie. He purposely makes robbers look like they got ripped off the pages, he makes the bank have gold coin like a comic book, and the final fight has a perfect evil lair/
City ending weapon ripped right off the pages. its faithful and inherently funny because mentally you take it just as seriously as the movie. Fucking Doc Oc wears a fucking fedora, but we don’t question it, yes there might be a chuckle, thats how its supposed to be though. Character design is supposed to look cartoonish, easy on the eyes, Aunt may looks like a old lady on purpose outfit and all. I wanna know exactly wtf your talking about.

My headcanon is that once the AI in his arms took over his brain, he started using the arms more as weapons. We know that the arms took control when the circuitry in the inhibitor chip got fried in the experiment that went wrong. That's when the AI of the arms took over. Then when the doctors tried to remove the arms, they went berserk in an effort to protect themselves. I believe that ever since then, the arms perceive anything that approaches them in a similar manner as those doctors as a threat or attempted threat to their existence, motivating them to lash out for self-preservation. So under their influence, between the time Doc escaped the hospital and decided to rob the bank to fund his experiment, he modified the arms to give them more features that made them function more like weapons and not just lab equipment.

In my opinion, i think Sally Field would be the best aunt may. Because she actually looks like an aunt to me. Rosemary Harris is more of a grandma than an aunt and the aunt may in the mcu movies is more of a mom than an aunt.

4:05 Tobey Spiderman was the most aggressive Spiderman between Tom and Andrew Spiderman. Less jokes, more punches. That made these movies soo attractive to the public.
