Yes she was backed into a corner but the king is out of action because he also has cancer and Will and Kate where stepping up. Yes they are entitled to a private life but they are royalty and constantly in the public eye and they need to keep the public in the loop. When a woman is a public figure and is out and about regularly with her camera crew and posts her pictures to promote herself and then suddenly disappears for months and then posts a fake picture. People will be curious or concerned. If she was a private person and not paid by tax payers no one will care about her.

I think we can all understand now why the Queen's motto was never complain never explain - for situations like this one. The attacks on Meghan has been very cruel for the past eight years Denise has only defended Meghan and for some reason if you defend Meghan some people see it as an attack on Catherine or the RF. After watching this, I now know why I stopped watching, Loose women a while ago, nothing has changed.
Very sad news, also because - as someone who watched Diana die (on TV) and see William & Harry left without a mum at a young age.. for me to have lost my mum when I was 25 and my brother was 15.. regardless of their "privilege or wealth or position as Royals" I don't wish for any child to lose their mother young. I just hope she gets through this. also it brings to the forefront that this happens to others and it's a terrible thing no matter who you are. Get well soon, Kate.

Just to clarify, the Princess was not bullied into making the announcement. She had decided a couple of weeks ago to do this. The original statement said she’d be back after Easter. She needed to make the statement in order to clarify the situation about her not coming back to public duties when originally expected. She in no way owed us any more health information. She is entitled like everyone else to privacy and that includes medical privacy, whether we pay for them or not.

Don’t say you pay for the RF. You only pay £1.2 to the trust. It’s expensive to keep the palace and staffs. The hostess on the left is so mean. The RF work hard to serve the country. They are not getting freebies. You should appreciate them as your own family.

Obviously people will speculate and criticize. She should have at least not faked the picture. Public figures are appreciated when they're honest which helps create awareness.
She and her family are paid over 350 million pounds every year and are allowed to live tax free, therefore people expect her to be honest and transparent and not lie and post fake pictures.
She has access to the best doctors and medical facility and her speaking about her surgery, diagnosis, symptoms, treatment, medications etc will definitely help other women. Not all doctors are as good as her doctors and even doctors might learn from the information she shares.
