- ‘Fat Friends’ was a staple part of early 2000’s TV schedule, and launched the careers of countless British comedy legends - including the ultimate writing duo, Ruth Jones and James Corden. And it’s recently come into a bit of a renaissance as viewers crave a bit of nostalgia. But is the show’s title a little jarring in 2024? And is it OK to use the modern-day ‘F word’ in conversation? Olivia thinks people are now owning being called ‘fat’, whereas Judi thinks it can be a useful term to give people a reality check!

Even slim people have issues about thier weight people will. Be horrible to you about you for anything people need to look at thier selves nobody is perfect
I think it is fine in this context because they are reclaiming the word. It is really messed up how fatphobic people don't understand how some people could be trying their best and still weigh a lot. Slow metabolisms exist and so do a lot of health complications like thyroid. People should think twice before they get all judgey to begin with.
