These wavepools seem like sick fun to be at, but they are pretty dull to watch on a screen. Maybe if they could crank the waves up to 8ft for the WSL comp it'd be more entertaining. If anywhere could afford to make a wave of consequence in a pool it's Dubai.
$950 for 90 minutes. That’ll get you 5 or 6 waves to yourself and a few waves you can “poach” when people fall or don’t make the section. Hotels downtown are about $400/night for a decent+ one. Flights into Abu Dhabi are relatively cheap from anywhere.
Why not a bigger foil for taller waves? I really wish someone with money used it as a testing facility trying different bottoms and foil types. Like Kelly has said in the past. Front foil small , large second foil to make it way more hollow.
once it gets cheaper and more accessible this will be amazing. they said it themselves that the desalinization was the most expensive part. also wave splitting will give you more waves . full wave 50 sec ..so 20-25 sec wave is great comparing to what i get in the ocean . sad that right now its only for the ultra rich or sponsored surfers , enterprise events.
Looks like Malibu on a semi-classic day. I wish they had pools like that locally for when there are no waves here. But I doubt I'll be travelling to Dubai for this wave. I'll stick with the ocean and whatever it serves up here in SoCal. Until they build local Surf Parks, that are affordable, that is. I couldn't believe it when I was told it cost thousands to surf Kelly Slater's Surf Ranch. Who can afford that? Elon Musk? Jeff Bezos? Just hearing that upset me. You'd think he would give back to the surf community? I'm just grateful I'm from a place that has breaks all over the place. The biggest attraction to the Ocean growing up was you felt connected to nature and it was free...
@dangacore thanks for the information but sadly I don't think I can afford to take part in the experience. Maybe if I win lotto. Cheers legend number 2
Arab money, Slater selling his name to it. I wonder how much money he ripped from the non surfing Arabs. Surfing is only in nature, not Disneyland attractions that nobody can afford.🤑
All very "cool and superficial" and as always for a few, soon we will see Prince Charles with his rocky surfing style in that pool ha ha!, our beloved sport is sinking peapole.
Locals only… rich celebs and spoiled pro surfers
Cool another pool just for pros and the rich.
if u spend less timing complaining maybe u could go too... lmfao these cheap ass mf man
Most of these infrastructures are made by people from Índia and Bangladesh and they are treated like garbage and earn misery salarys.

Its crazy the amount of money you would spend to get there, surf, stay, and survive you could literally go on a surf trip anywhere in the world lmao
Para os Brs aqui, da mais ou menos R$5.600 reais por 1h30 de surf, mais passagem, hotel, horas e horas de aeroporto
Cual es el nombre de el lugar en Brasil?
