Shit end? Burleigh is nothing but Brazilians and hipsters. Northern end is still beautiful. You have main beach, biggera waters and paradise point which consists of beautiful homes, canals and people who don’t act like wanna be hipster trash.
Aussies must be the sickest ppl in the whole world! Been living in Australia for the past 10 years now and seriously if this place was taken from me I would probably die.
Felipe Drumond went to aus for the first time. Had a blast got to go to Brisbane and Sydney but never made it up to the gc. Def going back and for longer next time!!!
Going Deep hahah you fuckin clowns have no idea. I’m born and bred Central Queenslander, from the central highlands and coalfields. Third generation coal miner. Have family who’ve played for the maroons. Get ya heads out of your arses and realise you have to call out the racist cunts in this place. But you’re probably the ones I’m talking about
Australia seems like a dope place to visit, and perhaps to live in. Many fellow Finns have moved there and never looked back. I'll put it on my post-covid bucket list and make sure to visit GC.
Used to live at Burleigh over 40 years ago and even with all the change it's kinda cool to see the bowlo is still plugging away where it's always been.
Its weird watching this now. I grew up on the Goldy moving there from NZ when I was seven in 1977. In 2018 it was a surprise to know they could kick me out of Aussie and back to NZ with nothing and without ever doing a jail sentence. 12 months suspended sentence combined over your life is all they need to send you back if you never became an Aussie citizen. I always thought permanent meant exactly that. Who doesnt get done for weed on the Goldy at some point. Been back here now for 4 and a half years and it now feels like it was just a dream....did I really live in a place with weather and waves this good. I miss it...and my family. Get one for me. Seeing Occy reminded me of one night in Melbas at about 3am and him talking his face off about Green Iguana that was about to be released....fucking funny......thanks Occy for the shout. (Not a 501...I'm a 116...the ones they dont want you to know about. Deported on "bad character" which someone behind a desk decided I was).
Burleigh is iconic.... Back in the 80’s I remember all the kids went to the old fish and chip shop on the corner of Connor Street and played Double Dragon after surfing all day......
I’m an 18 yr old American from the beautiful state of Washington. I love this place, the mountains, it’s always been my home. But I’m moving to GC and I’ve never been more excited.
Man this vid is awesome. I'm born and bred in WA and have been to the Gold Coast briefly years ago but don't know it. This vid was fun and informative. We don't have the surf clubs over here like you guys. Well they have them but their just for clubbys. Growing up on the beach here we made our own fun but the sense of community isn't here like you guys have there. coltrump👍🏻
Palm Beach-Currumbin State High School was also attended by many other great surfers such as former CT surfers Ross Clarke-Jones, Craig Pictures, Tony Ray and Richard "Dog" Marsh to name a few more
Awesome video I’m jealous lol. Btw I saw the eagle metal statue you said which is iconic. What does that represent in Australia? Lol forgive me ignorance in from USA.
the Sunshine Coast one was the same. tiny bit of footage from a random peak in Wurtula, then to Sunshine beach then to Double island. not even a mention of Noosa surprisingly
Bwa ha ha!! I've been surfing since the mid 80's in crowed and uncrowned surf throughout the Americas and Hawaiian islands. Any break that you can buy a smoothie near has been guaranteed crowded since before I started. Want to avoid crowds? Be ready to travel a little or at least look over the next headland. My last session had one other guy out. How about yours? Oh, and also remember it's just surfing. It's just a way to have some fun. So relax about who's a gaper and who's a heavy dude. Surfing is a luxury, and we should all be so lucky that we have the money, free time and proximity to the ocean to pursue the activity, rather than being say, some poor bastard in South Sudan who has to walk miles a day just for the privilege of drinking water.
Whee! Homophobia, age-ism, and body shaming ALL ROLLED INTO ONE, in a pathetic attempt to feel superior to me, since your plan A of calling me a gaper didn't pan out. Go Have a good cry because you don't know how to surf in a crowd, but aren't intrepid enough to score uncrowded waves. Meanwhile, I'll be reviewing the list of class A spots I've scored solo or with a handful of mates, ranging from Canada to Mexico, and Hawaii to Puerto Rico. And remember, if there is a smoothie joint a short walk from any given surf break, it will be crowded.
Seriously looking to spend some time on the gold coast, possibly even move one day. What are the best long board spots that are not overly jammed with people? I don't fancy surfing with 300 guys in the water and it seems all the long spots tend to be jammed with shortboarders. I also don't like dropping in via longboard and stealing waves early. I am mid 30's never have always long boarded.
Brad Edwards if your on the southern part of the coast the tweed coast is pretty decent and usually a lot more quieter but it is more of a trek to get there
I’ve been watching this video hundreds times, I miss Goldie sooo much! Can’t wait to go back there❤️
Queensland Tourism can try all they like with our money but they will never come up with a video
as good as this.
Even the pros get dropped in on. I have no hope.
I love how they left out the shit end of the Gold Coast lol
what is this shit end u speak off lol
@@BlakePicton Everything north of Burleigh

Is anyone else just obsessed with this soundtrack but having a hard time finding some of the artists online?
“Is it summer yet” is by Santa fe. They’re on spotify
Probably the most important stretch of beach considering the talented number of surfers it generated.
Not really compared to North Shore...
Honestly a superb video. Solid stuff!
Memories of a youth well spent.

Been all over the world. best place to live . Amazing surf hinterland. So many beautiful places
within an hour. Less people than The Pass or Lennox
Opening notes are from The Drums 'The Future'. Epic song. Check it out. Totally Drums style on this track.
Summer by Santa Fe is the track in the video, they must’ve used the tunes from The Drums
Was born on the Gold Coast and still live here :)))
Cool footage boys, so many good memories of growing up here. Can't really get into the café culture though..i don't drink coffee anymore 😁
Excellent effort !! Gold coast rocks

The last song, Kids, by Current Joys, makes the ending perfect
I agreer! The outro or last couple minutes was well done.
Just makes me want to move to the Gold Coast!
In my mind...I'm already there...
Couldn't agree more, fucking love Current Joys
Didn't know about Current Joys and also about Unity Floors. This video is so rich!

Check out shaping company in Tweed heads they have sick circa 90s boards
Just don’t go out when it’s above three foot or you might get run over by a jet ski in the massive waves. Too big for the pros to paddle apparently
