Johnny Heffernan I dive but not cave. This some how showed up on my interest so watched it and had panic attack's as I did..lol now I've watched about 20 video's on it..lol have a great weekend.😊

I just listened to a story about these caves of Mr.Ballens channel - he brings it to life incredibly. Like you’re there. He is a Retired Navy Seal. Name is John B. Allen - hence the guys just calling him Mr. Ballen.
I went caving a few days ago but not underwater it is pretty cool LOADS of tight spaces so I would recommend caving with proper equipment and don’t go alone ( tons of slippy rocks that may make you fall so literally be VERY VERY careful )
Not a diver in any way, but heres my guess. I imagine that components of said tanks could probably go bad due to the conditions under water, making them possibly unreliable and maybe dangerous to use. Also, you need alot more than just air when diving. When diving certain depths, you have to mix your oxygen with other gases(I think helium) due to the increased pressure of the under water atmosphere. Failing to do so will result in breathing in excessive amounts oxygen and will cause you to get severely nauseous.
@@chrishernandez2490 it’s been a while since I’ve dived. But yea I would recon that would be good enough reason. Or even just having a mounted rail system similar to what rock climbers use. I’m sure if enough people came together could think of a good way to mark and label paths underwater. Scary to think about how quick a fun dive can turn
@@chrishernandez2490 divers use nitrox, which is air with 32% oxygen added to the air. 32% is the most common mix. Helium is added for extremely long or deep dives. This is called trimix. It's also meant to help with mental clarity. You can get "narced" which is like being drunk and disoriented also they risk getting the bends, or nitrogen toxicity caused by a build up of nitrogen in the blood. Deco or decompression, sitting at a certain depth to let said nitrogen be released from your system is necessary.
They do, it's calling staging tanks. We do this a lot in cave diving. You carry your doubles or side mount tanks as usual but then carry an additional 1 or 2 tanks which you stage, or leave at calculated points along your route so that in case of an emergency you know you have extra gas waiting for you.
@@MS-gg8dy If I remember right, my instructor staged his deco bottles on the big tree stump near the entrance when he went. They did their dive on OC and the max depth for them was around 290 ft. He said it was easily his deepest dive. Eagle's Nest is not an unreasonable traverse, but it gets deep fast and you need to have experience with diving mixed gas and deep diving as well as full cave cert. Most cave divers tend to stay in the 30-60 ft. range that a lot of the springs offer, diving 300 ft with a big scooter is not only challenging, it's expensive as hell.
“It’s helped me, I don’t want to be that person” ah okay you don’t want to be like them so just keep going to those sketchy dangerous spots and retrieving the bodies what could go wrong
@@Raccon_Detective. cave diving is one of the most surreal and fascinating sports in the world. I absolutely love it and prefer it over open water diving.
@@Raccon_Detective. all the places frequently trafficked by cave divers have permanent guidelines in them and the water is normally super clear. The ones I dive in are so clear it's like being in a swimming pool
In a underwater cave system the spaces are really narrow ,so narrow that a person can barely squeeze thru....so extra gear is a big no no plus they can't just push those tanks with them..they need to conserve their energy to resurface and in case something goes wrong.....and if something goes wrong in a underwater cave ,you better say your prayers mate.
@@shahmeerhassan5549 Hmm. I don’t ever intend to put myself in such a dangerous situation where I have no control. Looks cool tho. I would do a safe dive if there is such a thing and the opportunity came up tho for sure

why destroy the cave? You sound like you aren't a cave diver so let me explain a few things. MOST fatalities occur due to poor planning or diving outside of one's limits, such as trying to push through a small restriction or not properly planning gas needed to complete the dive. I've done in caves all over Florida that people have died in yet the dives are perfectly safe if you plan correctly and dive within your training. Cave diving is absolutely incredible and the layout of them and features are beautiful. But ignorant people like you would prevent people like me from enjoying them.
Anyone else got this in their recommendations after watching mr ballen
He,he.. Mr Ballen...Love his stories.

I've seen too many of Mr. Ballen's videos to know how these cave dives end. Especially Eagle's Nest 🥲
Yep that's why they say a penny in the pocket is better than a pound in the cave
Most of the time it ends with a fee beers and a barby.
