Its the lack of habitat for the small fish to live in. The ocean floor can be compared to a lush forest on land. With that you have the circle of life. An underwater cave is just that... an underwater cave. You would not expect to find a forest in a cave, above or below the water. No fish homes = no small fish. No small fish = no big fish food and that means no big fish want to live there. Same thing in above ground caving. Once your about 20 meters into a cave, you no longer have to worry about snakes and stuff like that. They just don't have the food source.
@@Muttey2024people have died in that specific cave system before, actually. Mostly people who were undertrained or underprepared. I believe they require divers to be fully cave certified, fully trimix certified, and have 100 successful cave dives under their belt to be allowed to dive Eagle’s Nest.

You clip them on once you're in the water. There's a small set of stairs with rope down each handrail to clip the bottles to in the water, and then you slowly attach them one by one in the appropriate spot until you're all set up and ready to scoot off to the cave entrance.
Cool that you’re experienced enough to do this dive for everyone, but that’s a big NOPE for me as well. Knowing how fragile those sedimentary rocks are, and that you can be closed off from escaping at any moment, is just a next level anxiety catalyst…
