I also received a hpi firestorm 10t today, 2nd hand. It runs & drives, just needs a few adjustments here & there. Keep up the good videos, you're so down to earth....brilliant!
The chrome wheels that came with it are from the Hpi trophy 3.5 buggy by the look of it bro and you're right about the radio gear. The first firestorms came with crystals and usually had the crustal number on the receiver box. Mine is number 3 lol. It also had a different shell design/paint scheme. You should keep this one bro 👍
Associated mgt 8.0 exhaust if your American if in the Uk the exhaust is for a thunder tiger sledge hammer s50 The k4.6/5.9 are very highly valued now and sell for a good price used
Just found you dude. Nice to see some one that buys second hand rc cars and works with what they have round them to get them running. I’ll probably arch all your vids over the next few weeks
Way back when, I had the Kyosho equivalent of that vehicle. Think they referred to it as a "Stadium Truck", the predecessor of today's Short Course craze.40:15 or so. trying to tune a cold engine, while not even burping the throttle, the engine could either load up or starve and stall before any adjustments really take effect. You need to have throttle control to clear out rich conditions, or richen up lean conditions. It's painful watching you mess with adjustments and not 'take a lap' between to see what effect it has, especially when the thing could have had a perfect tune on it and just needed to be run around your yard for a tank. Now you've gone and smudged that all up. Someone sure did love that car. Probably getting hot sitting idling on your bench too. 49:15, is it getting dirty from your bench!? lol clean you bench man! he he I wanna see vids of these resurrected cars running.
I got an old Kyosho from a guy that couldn't get it to run. I literally put batteries, fuel and a new plug in and it fired up 3rd pull. Mine had a high idle also, I guessed the seller messed it up trying to get it to run.
there nothing wrong with a drill to start it as long as the clutch and speed and rotation are set write and there not set on the max levels. with some rechargeable aa battery and heat shrink you can make some hump pack out of the stock battery cases. i no some people use the rubber muffler tube to shut it off so there not putting there fingers on hot metal muffler. if i had to guess it actually not that old i no all the 2nd gen releases of the hpi cars all came with the 2.4 radio set ups and the new style hpi servos. here in the usa the remote and receiver 2,4 hpi cost 27/37 dallors to replace them .
Love these videos man i have a nitro car muself i love messing around with it its a lot of fun especially when you get it running niceone keep these videos coming haggard
Great video and car is running pretty decent. Somehow its a bit strange that the car idles so high. Keep up the great work man. p.s. I think that I saw the new servos for the sworkz😅
It’ll be because it’s sat around for a while, engines often run faster when they’re used to being sat and haven’t ran for a while. I think it’ll settle down once it’s warmed up and ran more. 🤘🏻
Hey I was wondering if you had any tips about starting a newer engine. I got a new rtr srx8 nitro buggy and I can't seem to get it to start and stay running. I've changed and checked the glow plugs, glow starter, added a little fuel to the engine itself and of course heated it up. Sometimes it starts but just for a second then cuts right off, even with the glow starter still attached. I haven't even been able to break it in because it won't stay on. Sorry about the long comment but any tips would be much appreciated.
that is how I start mine as well my .28 JL max runs off a sullivan tiger drive and use my 18volt ryobi drill way too akward of a chassis for a bump box revo 3.3
Subscribed man good stuff you usually put out a good video One of my favorite parts of the hobby saving old rigs especially nitro hope to get my hands on one of these soon cool little rigs love the simplicity just add some fuel and run it around the yard
It’s not the drill mate it would be the same if using a pull start it’s because the car has been stood so sometimes they take some getting going once it’s ran for abit and carb adjusted it will be fine. 😊
@@foxyjay1 OK - thanks for that. So why, having been stood for a while, does that cause it to happen? Surely, if the spark & fuel/air are getting in it should at least attempt a start?
@@neilo3476 the carb could have old fuel in it which turns like jelly when old the same with the fuel lines and cylinder it only takes a little bit of old fuel to stop one starting straight up also the carb could of been tuned for hot weather and now it’s cold it could need adjusting slightly to get the engine running right. 👍
@jordanashton8218 I have a list of contacts and also my channel members see the videos before everyone else so sometimes they snap things up quickly lol. I don’t have any spare heads at the moment sorry dude.
The car turns over, but the rev is very high that the nitro just finished quickly just by throttling it. It goes into high rev on its own. The back wheel only spins when lifted up. The front wheel rotates in opersite directions hence why the car doesn't drive. Any ideas will help please and thanks
A tip that helps alot is warm up the motor with a blow dryer or heat gun for a few minutes and after should crank up no problem 😊
Haggard don’t sell this one! Not like the last firestorm you had❤
Nice! Thanks for sharing 😊
That's trophy buggy wheel hub carrier, very similar to the ones on the mp9
I also received a hpi firestorm 10t today, 2nd hand. It runs & drives, just needs a few adjustments here & there. Keep up the good videos, you're so down to earth....brilliant!

That chrome exhaust came off a Team Associated MGT 1/8 nitro monster truck.. I have 2 of those trucks and that is the stock exhaust.
Associated mgt 8.0 exhaust if your American if in the Uk the exhaust is for a thunder tiger sledge hammer s50

The k series pull start I mean
wauw nice one mate looks like new great firestorm
What a score!

That exhaust is for thunder tiger .50 for MTA monster truck engine bud I have couple of them
Nice vid. Love it. I just scored a vintage nice 1/8 scale nitro also. Nice. 2024 is off to a great start. Love it. Take care mate🎉😊
i enjoyed that nice firestorm if it was me i would keep it for the condition its in
Thanks mate, I’ve sold it already to a collector. I haven’t got room to keep it although I would love to 😆
@@HaggardRC that's fair enough we can't have them all I suppose so haha
Looks like a thunder tiger or team associated MGT exhaust looks like the one on my MGT and yes it’s rear facing 👍
Very nice bud good deal there hope lot fun with it wait for ssk Thunr Tiger
Great video, and sounds like you are a great father.i commend you on patients.

I haven't got a yard to run it in. And I've sold it to one of my regular collectors now.
Nice one glad you made a turn from it.
this has got to be the greatest box opening video in the net lol

It’s very common man, people play with the screws lol
Like Christmas all over again!
You can say that again lol
Awesome job on the box bro you’re mum must have saved all your Christmas rappers lol 😂
Good score if it was the good price bro well done 👍

I had 1 of those the screws became projectiles and it fell apart on my first day of use from brand new 😂 worst purchase of my life.

Have you used the trim to raise the tickover a bit to help?
@ i did actually but that didn't seem to help either, i mean it helped initially but then back to not working/staying on for more than a split second
surprising to see it start with a hand drill, usually they don't have enough rpm.
that is how I start mine as well my .28 JL max runs off a sullivan tiger drive and use my 18volt ryobi drill way too akward of a chassis for a bump box revo 3.3
You’re right but it does work, as you saw lol.
Guessing it just helps it eh
Nice Find!
Its a team associated mgt exhaust
How much is a runing hpi firestorm these days!?
I’d imagine around £120-£150!
