That whole entire album (Saturday Night Wrist) has the same sound as this song it’s the best album I’ve ever heard
Its super hated by the fans for no reason. Its their darkest album IMO because of addiction and the band almost breaking up, but the album was masterful.

Thanks I tried to start doing 2 videos a day but copyright blocks kinda messed it up, if the channel keeps growing I have plans for multiple videos daily, live reactions, giveaways etc, just gotta keep spreading the love and growing the community. Absolutely love this song. So underrated. I think this album doesn't get too much love, but it's amazing.

Sextape is possibly Deftones' best song in an insanely strong body of work.

liked the kinda big reverb ambience in the ending/outro, and the chorus has a nice flow with the 'youuuuu' bits.

They sound awesome live, J. Not sure who runs their boards live, but the sound is ENORMOUS (and clean as a whistle). At least for the shows I’ve seen over the years.
i might have an opportunity to see them this summer, if i do and the channel is interested a may do a vlog or record as much of the experience as possible
Wasn’t always that way. chino during the time this album came out was really struggling with addiction and they became notorious for being awful live. My favorite band by a mile though.

That color pallette in th background reminds me of the new Polaris album The Death Of Me which you would be wise to review. Might be metal album of the year, that or Guardians by August Burns Red.

This song is like wondering if someone would follow you into the pits at your lowest knowing that you’d swim down with them but not being able to say the same ….then if they do u realize how much it would mean….it’s like “wet sand” by Red Hot Chili Peppers….like them saying you’d don’t form in the wet sand but I do, I’d follow you under but would you?
To me I feel like this song is about a couple's addiction as one of them is trying to get out but the waves keep coming..Then as you start to drown the question is would you swim down with me so we can drown together? Then caught up in the love you ask if that is what you want? You then slowly die together.

You mentioned you haven't listened to much Tool - let me make some suggestions: 46 and 2, Parabol/Parabola (its a long one but I think you should listen to both parts), Vicarious, Aenema. Another good collab of Deftones and MJK (the singer of Tool) is Passenger by Deftones. It features both singers. Thanks for reviewing good music!

This is one of the songs that a segment of Deftones' fans seem to have passion for that I don't get. Doesn't get off the ground to me. And those new to experiencing the band's sound aren't going to have as much affinity for one of these idiosyncratic choices. As opposed to Hearts/Wires and Tempest, for examples. Think you should try those before branching out a lot.
Personally, this is my favorite song of theirs period. Its smooth, the vocals are literally flawless, the lyrics really hit hard for me tbh. I feel like its a very personal song to that group of people. I think that's why though. The thought of "Hey, I'll do this and sink to the level you're at to bring you up, but would you do that for me?" Can HRI home hard.
Also I just think the instrumentals are perfect for the song and make you feel like you're swaying on waves itself.
Its just very hypnotic. I think in general SNW is very very underrated. One if the most personal albums since they were honestly at their lowest points mentally and just as a bad since they almost broke up
@@TheNraveles You're entitled to your opinion. It's subjective. I'm not saying it's inherently bad like Mambo No. 5 or Metallica St. Anger. Rather that, and you seem to be aware of this, that SNW is not among the more appealing albums of theirs to a cross-section of fans of Deftones, metal, or music in general. That would apply to this song, though for this album, it seems among the more popular songs. I like Beware and Hole in the Earth. Kimdracula is ok. I think when a lot of people are making requests it's out of what they like not what they think the reactor also will. The latter is key if you want them to appreciate the band and keep coming back for more.
