Name Epica comes from the Album Epica from the band Kamelot.
Simone's partner is the keyboard-player from Kamelot, Oliver Palotai.

Sancta Terra is latin. Sancta means Holy and terra is earth/ground : Holy ground.
They also sung Stabar Matar Dolorosa together, a very old Christian hymn about the mourning of Maria after she lost her son. It's beautiful!
Floor sings the alto part, although she is a very high soprano, because her reach is amazing. They sound so beautiful together!

Both are amazing singers, Floor and Simone. I love the Epica song "Rivers" done live where they had the cello band Apocalyptica as their guest. Simone's voice with those cellos is just other worldly. You really need to hear this if you haven't already. Good job as always.

Floor and Simone go way back and are BFF's. They studied classical vocals at the same university and same coach.

This video is from a concert they did to celebrate their first ten years as a band. I have the DVD. This was before Floor joined Nightwish so it was the first time I ever saw her. Her and Simone sounded great together.
Simone cheerfully admits that she’s happiest when Epica are on the road with another band with a female vocalist. Listing Anneke, Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia and Nightwish’s Floor Jansen among her friends, confidants and occasional collaborators, she sings their praises for being allies in a largely male-dominated environment.
What I love about this video is playfulness Floor and Simone have while singing this, so much fun they way things should be. On a side note Lulu Donna when are we going to see some windmills with your hair? Were waiting!!💋💋🌹🌹

Stabat Mater Dolarosa by Simone and Floor from this same concert is a must! A centuries old hymn sung in a classical style at a metal concert where you could hear a pin drop - unbelievable.
If you love them singing together, please do Stabat Mater Dolorosa from the same concert. It's different, but just as beautiful.
This song is about a suïcide bomber who thinks he is in Heaven, but in fact he is in Hell, but he likes it so much there, that he refuse to go to Heaven

Pls do a reaction on one of Epica’s most beautiful songs, Rivers (the version featuring Apolyptica, another awesome metal band of three persons only playing on cello’s). I think Simone Simons beautiful voice comes into its own here. She is the only one reaching to the level of our valkyrie Floor Jansen.

P,S, Simone was several months pregnant & had already been singing for two hours, which is why they boosted her microphone to compensate for fatigue & diminished lung capacity.

Lulu has some spunk. She is eager to master the windmill. You can do it. Remember bend forward with knees bend slightly. Hands on hips and go for it. It is all in the neck and shoulders. Watch how Floor does it.
