Personally I don’t really think that using the siphon a second time to get the beer into the bottles is necessary. It’s so much easier to just carefully pour it straight from the pot into a funnel and then into a bottle. Your tip for how to get the siphon started was very helpful though. I wouldn’t have known how to do it without seeing this video.
KentB27 you’re right, it’s not necessary especially with this entry level kit. It’s a habit I formed all grain brewing. We fill the bottles or kegs with Co2 first to shield the fermented beer from oxygen / oxygenation. It helps prevent off flavors and makes it last longer. That’s what I was going for here. By using the siphon, the beer mixes with oxygen as little as possible. Since it still had a week or two to go for carbonation, I thought I’d try to eliminate oxidation. Glad you picked up the siphon trick. Thanks for watching, and taking the time to comment.
I watched the official video to this kit. He definitely made some mistakes in timing and portions which may change the desired taste. This video gives a good overview, but use the official video from the company for safe measure.
I'm having a reaaaal hard time siphoning beer out. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. It seems like there's not enough suction for siphoning. Only 1/4 of a gallon came out. Anyone know what the reason could be?
Hi Charles, thats great! Welcome back to the hobby. It's a long story, but long story short, I lost my GoPro a while back while filming the next video. I hope to have a new one soon and when I do I will re-brew the batch and make a tasting video. For the record the beer ended up tasting great.
Hi Amanda, did you watch the video? I state the exact amount of cane sugar and water at 00:36, and mix the sugar solution with the fermented beer for an even mix ratio at 6:44. Wtf bro, pay attention!
Dawson Heinbaugh you blew a great opportunity to be my 69th like dude. The beer tasted great. My GoPro was stolen by a dolphin while I was filming a fishing video... hence no follow up vid. 👍🏻
This two part series was great! Helped me out a lot, from start to finish. Thank you!
LTA_Woods Montana4Life Thanks for the comment! I'm really happy to hear that it helped. Happy brewing!
Instablaster...
I usually just submerge a bottle, get a little sanitizer in, and then shake. Set aside, repeat for each bottle, and dump them all out afterward.
thanks tip of using the gallon to keep everything stable while filling bottles with out help
Thanks again for this good post.
Great video. What size were the bottles?

Is it possible to use fliptop on regular beer bottles or does it have to be for a specific bottle?

I’ve made a bunch of wine doing my first batch of beer. Did you rack your beer into a secondary it very clear wth no noticeable yeast at bottom
where is part 3?
New sub! Liked 🙏😃😀☺️☺️

Young man, you've encouraged me to "dabble" at home brew after a nearly 40 year "lapse"... Did you do a "tasting" video?
