This is a wonderful example of the type of musical productions we watched weekly. It took nearly nine minutes in an hour(?) show that also had solo numbers, skits and intro and closing productions. There were usually new costumes and sets for each different portion and this was all done weekly! Frankly, I doubt today’s performers could do it.
Cher has worked with the greatest in music & movies. Cher is a power house , nothing she can't do. I am obsessed with cher, my favorite women of all times. Long live the living legend & queen cher. Peace,Love,Sunshine & positivity. 🧔🌻✌☮✡🐳

Carol Burnett has a great voice. I remember watching a documentary where she said she never thought she was pretty but when I watch her she exudes such beauty with her voice, body and overall personality.
Cher too because people would see her as a beauty queen but she always blew us away with her talent in voice and dance.
Two wonderful women who really helped mould young women growing up. Thank you ladies for your service. ❤❤❤❤❤

What most don't even get and you have Gotta realize is that's 5 costume changes, 5 different hairstyles, 5 different melodies 5 different sets, plus all the equipment to put a show together AS GREAT as that would PLUS use Bob Macki Designs Would be a miracle to do today! Not sure who did the costumes week in, and week out. Perhaps Bob Mackie? In any case, really amazing designing talents for the amazing performing talents✨
Bob Mackie dressed each lady on their respective variety shows.
Mackie's most famous costume for Carol on her TV show was a knock-off of the olive green velvet hoop dress made of the only fabric left at Tara after the Civil War - the drapes - as seen in the movie, "Gone With the Wind".
Bob said that he would place bolts of fabric on Cher and then start cutting. He would cut, cut, cut that fabric away on her and stop when he thought he "had something". He felt that no matter how little fabric was then left on Cher, she NEVER looked vulgar because she had a perfect body.

Yes, that fact is stated in my comment. I wrote that each lady had her own TV show and Bob designed that special drapery costume for Carol on HER show. [Where "HER" show refers to Carol's show.]

Cher has such a distinctive contralto smokey sound, style and vibrato. Not every woman will be able to blend with that voice and style. Leave it to Carol though. She has done successful duets with every singer, every style from Carol Channing, Perry Como and Sammy Davis, to Edydie Gorme, Jim Neighbors and Dolly Parton, from Julie Andrews , Neil Diamond to the Carpenters and Peggy Lee.

Definitely love watching these two they’re so sweet,.. goodness sakes hard to believe they’re both still alive though and doing good as far as I know. They’re gowns are beautiful, their skits are perfect, and their voices are wonderful. Makes me feel a warm fuzzy feeling inside just seeing them and knowing that they haven’t died.
This was from so many years ago but time goes by quickly.
