I have listened to every Sabbath album since I was 15 or 16 I'm 59 now and it was a toss-up between all the albums they put out studio albums and I would have to say I thought Sabbath bloody Sabbath was their best but sabotage the ultimate song album excuse me

Ozzy doesn't sit around writing the full lyrics (like Geezer), but he often just freestyles something along the lines of a tone/rythm. In whole, Sabbath TO ME are just as good as the Beatles by the way they change tones throughout like several songs in one. *You can here that on some Ozzy solo songs.
I spent the better part of my youth at a place called the perfume factory in queens ny it was a deserted art deco building my friends and i would cop some weed and take our boom box and cassettes this was a must play album. man i wish i could go back for one more visit and just spend the day ................................
My grandfather bought me Sabotage for my 8th grade graduation. I'd run the headphone jack into my amplifier and crank it across our bay so loud neighbors heard it over a mile away. The album cover shoot was a surprise to the boys and Ward had no underwear on and borrowed those horrid iconic "panties" from John, aka Ozzy.
Man that break at 11:44 is the SOOO heavy....can't stop listening to it.....and I got to see n hear this live at the Santa Monica Civic Center when Don Kirshner Rock Concert filmed there for free.....we snuck in....
My mom's '63 Dodge Dart.... I had just installed an 8-track with 4 6"x9" speakers in the doors and back window. Best sounding car ever ! Big hit in high school. (Then it WAS hit !) Fun stuff.

I always felt that this song never got the status it deserves . From the 1st time I heard it till today, it's in my tops list. Yeah it's theme wise just paranoid but soooo much more eloquently expressed. And a band at their absolute peak despite the turmoil. It's where everything ended up. Just took everyone else a lot longer to get there.. in a word, visionary. Fucking Sabbath.

There are gimmicks to selling the intro to the madness that awaits the purchaser upon first-play. The lettering and red trousers certainly work, as well as the 4" heels, perhaps. I never realized that what appeared to be the four boys from the band in reflection was actually the artist's doubling of their images until much later! That was pure genius!!

Black Sabbath is just fenomenal. The thing about rock bands from the 70's and their music it's that each band had a distinctive sound. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen, Motorhead, etc were all great rock bands and each sounding completely different with their own sound and style. Not like the bands that came after them.
My most favorite album of all time, too! Never get tired of it. Too bad it was such a crappy time for the band. Goes to show, how great they were even in dark times.

The writ is a powerful fighting song to the crooked bastards who released We Sold Our Souls For Rock and Roll the same year...not a dime went to the band for Souls.
