After viewing your video, I gained insight into the functions of all those buttons and knobs. Thank you very much. I own a 2023 LX600 F-Sport and am thoroughly enjoying it. It's definitely been a worthwhile investment.
I’m surprised they don’t include a connection for trailer lights, but I would also think very few will tow with this Lexus. Looks like a great all-around suv, although front interior room actually looks a little less than the 200 series the previous version was based on.
I probably complained too much about the towing, but I was expecting more I guess. Here in Utah I see a decent number of LX's towing boats and occasionally a camping or utility trailer. Now that you mention it, it did feel a little smaller inside. I believe the exterior dimensions are nearly identical to the outgoing model.
We drive the 2017 LX 570, and I'm appreciating your presentation on the Worlds most capable off the assembly line in Japan vehicle...that being said, can you do a vehicle on what to select for off-roading in the Lexus LX, like what to select when in snow, rain, mud, rocks, sand, hills you name it..Thank You Kindly Sir.
Back in July during my first vacation, we took part of the fam from Providence RI, to Hershey PA , and we had 4 children in the rear seat, 2 adults plus a baby in baby seat in the 2nd row, and I and the Wifey up front, and the ride we had was so comfortable, and I felt assured having the Lexus Certified Warranty , plus AAA. I had to make some defensive driving techniques especially in NJ and in PA near the border, with people cutting us off about 4 times. The incident at the NJ and PA border there was a driver in a white van that just got onto the highway and cut over 2 lanes no blinkers and almost side smashed us if it wasn't for my catching it with the corner of the right eye and braking and driving over to the left side breakdown lane, and I haven't done that, we could have been badly injured or worse. God is good, and thank God I prayed that morning like I usually do.
In addition to the obvious fail with the hitchpin issue, which is also a bit of an issue with the LX570, the way the hitch cover installs on the vehicle is a design fail. A trailer moving foward accidentally is sure to damage the extended hollow mount points where the cover attaches to. Once one of those are damaged, what do you do? The old style that hooks down from the top is a much better design. Towing was apparently an after-thought this time.
@@EngineAdventuresHi, I’m in Tasmania Australia & looking to order the LX Fsport. I was trying to work out if an 18 inch wheel would actually fit on it over the brakes so I could run two sets of wheels & tyres, the road set and an off-road set. I wonder if this is possible and if it creates any issues with carrying a spare. I’m really disappointed with the Diff Locks front and rear not being included like the Japanese model. I wonder if it’s possible to order the diffs or the parts needed from Japan and had it installed. I don’t want to go rock hopping but do travel to outback panacea where diff locks would make it much easier and safer to travel with. At this point I’m hanging back to order as in 48hrs time the GX is released, do the new GX spec might have front and rear lockers and sone better wheel/tyre combinations…..failing that I might have to go back to considering the GR Landcruiser 300. 😬 Like to hear your thoughts on fitting different wheel/tyre combinations.
This was a media vehicle that I only had for a week. But I had the same question and I remember looking at the wheels and thinking you could go down a bit before the calipers were too close to the wheel, and my best guess was an 18" wheel would fit. However, that's just guessing by looking at it, and going off my terrible memory. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hello, I have been enjoying your channel. I own a 2022 GMC Acadia AT4. I know it doesn't deserve AT4 badge. Or does it! If you could review and a real off road test? Thank you for time!
The closest thing I have to that is the Traverse. If you haven't watched that video maybe take a look at it. I'll see if I can get an Acadia. I do believe it has the dual clutch rear diff that's in the Blazer RS, so maybe watch that video as well. Between the two you should get a pretty good understanding of the capability of the Acadia.
No, but if you look closely you can see 3 of the 4 wheels spinning in the first attempt (the vehicle's screen showed all 4 spinning, so the 4th was spinning as well, but you can't see it from the angle of the video). The center diff lock certainly helps and I should have turned it on here, but it wouldn't have made much difference.
Not sure why you are having challenges fitting hitch pins. I have multiple for bike racks and various hitches. Zero issues. But ai do agree with your comments about the plastic hitch cover. I took mine off when I bought the vehicle and haven’t used it since.
Thanks for sharing! You must have the right length pins, any longer and they are a pain, any shorter and you can't get them on. Or maybe Lexus realized the issue and made a small design change.
Yeah, that caught me off guard too! I was planning a towing story for a large website. Lexus probably would have installed one for me (it's a quick and easy connection to install), but I didn't think to ask for it thinking it was already there.
@@EngineAdventures They will be the last reliable suv's. The electronics you add to a vehicle the higher cost of ownership overall. People complain but have no clue why especially the 4runner are the most reliable vehicles on the road today.
@@KJV0812 I mostly agree with you. Hopefully manufacturers will still be able to make reliable SUVs and meet CARB and EPA standards. Vehicles have come a long way in safety and reliability because of electronics, now they seem to be going too far and losing reliability because of an over use of electronics.
@@EngineAdventures 4Runners have more electronics than cars from 20 years ago, and they are more reliable. I don’t think electronics are going away, but they are getting more reliable. I wouldn’t bet on future cars being less reliable than current ones because of electronics.
I'd say it really depends on the manufacturer, and their intentions. Toyota and Honda do pretty good with their electronics, but I've had family vehicles from various manufacturers that had annoying electrical issues multiple times.
The LX is one of the most durable vehicles available in the United States. Unlike many vehicles I test on this course, it is actually made for this stuff, and more!
What are you talking about? These vehicles were designed for roads like this. In certain parts of Australia we could only hope or wish for roads this good and we thunder across them daily. There’s no problem if your driving a Toyota or better still a Lexus.
These are the factory wheels and tires. I do agree with you though, smaller wheels and tires to match whatever terrain the vehicle will be in would be better.
There's a lot more to it than that. I prefer body on frame in many cases. The build quality is excellent (we have yet to find out about durability, but it'll probably outlast any other vehicle in the $100k range). It really depends on what you're using it for.
Power wise, yes the Rivian is better. Off Road the Rivian has larger tires and more ground clearance, but no one (including Rivian) has figured out the programming for 4 electric motors to perform as well as locking diffs. The LX is heavy, but the Rivian is much heavier. They both have their strengths, but I wouldn't expect a Rivian to be able to tackle harder trails than the LX, except for the clearance issues on the LX.

Now let me give a real review from someone one who has owned a 2014 LX for 9 years, and now the 600 VIP. What a useless pile of perfectly designed junk. The motor. Always seems like it shifts at the wrong time and at the top of the RPM range. Shifts are very crude and sticky and seem at the wrong time. Always sounds and feels like it needs to downshift but doesn't. Motor very underpowered and it lets you know all the time. Seats are very hard and uncomfortable, badly designed. If you use the fan to cool the seat it sounds like a shop vac on full power. Lane management garbage that you need to manually turn off every time. Cheap plastics that scruff at the slightest touch. Carpet so cheap that when vacuumed, loses the strands that stick out farther than they should. Bumpy and squishy ride no matter what the settings. The TV screens in the VIP model stick out so far back as to give the rear passengers claustrofobia. When you combine extra thick front seats, and smack a screen on the back that is out so far you know why. And about the vip seats. Garbage. The screen in the middle to control them is like the same type on the old LX and no one ever bought this SUV for that. Complicated to use. So all this and this after just 1000 km. I guess reviews are worth what you pay for them.. Nothing.
I didn't have any of those problems. I didn't vacuum the carpets, but daily driving it for a week, I had no issues with shifting or anything else you really mentioned, except I did notice the seat ventilating fan can be a little noisy on high. When driving at freeway speeds I couldn't hear it though.

That was my guess, but nothing was close to hitting anything and I never saw anything show up on the display.
That flex in the thumbnail…… damn i need to cash in my 401k and buy the premium with the black pkg and 18in wheels.
