You know when to speed up presentation, and when to slow down to savor the countryside or a rewarding moment. Having a dog adds another dimension to cleaning. It’s not just the dog hair, it’s the dog nose snoogy smears on windows. Now I feel like cleaning too.

It's 3pm New Mexico USA time, so I'm late to the party. I sit with tea and watch every second. For this elderly sick guy who once lived a spell in Japan, and will celebrate 30 years with my Japanese wife in December, I am mesmerized each video posting. While I imagine the vacuum will do quick work on even a large spider, I don't know about the gecko. Oh, and I mustn't leave without thanking you two for a view of the bamboo blowing in the wind. I miss that. Love from the Southwestern USA.

In Scotland, it's also tradition to give the house a big clean before New Year. It might be true in other countries as well. I'm sure it is

Wonderful to see how the cluttered space became clear and organised again. I was worried for a second thinking the shelving unit wasn't going to fit. And when Mika was sitting outside it was easy to see when Jesse was approaching long before he appeared because of Pancake's excitement.

Oh yes, tarp Day 😬. I live off grid in the mountains of central Otago southern New Zealand, so no running water and no electricity either. I have to do a complete clean out twice a year, that's when I take all the stuff out of my tiny house room by room, put it all on a tarp outside and clean, scrub and polish everything 😮💨 no electricity means hand brushing the carpet every week and doing a triple brush on tarp Day 😬 I sympathize 😂
Breakfast and this channel have become my Sunday morning routine

I'm 48 but if I were any younger had a partner willing to go with me (and if English were my first language and I could teach it in Japan) I'd do anything to move there for good. The world is going crazy now and most people just want peace, many going off-grid to run away from the insanity of the city life. I've been binge watching every valuable video on Japan I could find and it seems to be a dream come true place to settle in for so many people. Japan is certainly not the land of milk and honey, it has its dark side, too, but it's damn close.
Living off grid isn't all fluffy ducks 😂 cleaning is genuinely horrible, and not having electricity and running water makes it a all day headache especially during the spring and autumn big cleans I call tarp Day 😬 I can see why the vacuum cleaner was invented 😂
We do that "Big Clean" in the Caribbean as well. It's done around the exact same time in December as well, but we don't call it that. Actually, we don't even have a name for it really. It's just customary lol

In America, it’s called spring cleaning which I thinks has to do with the days when winter heating was with coal or fuel oil. It would leave the walls and ceiling black with soot

god i remember when our dog was the same age and was shedding like WILD 😂 it depends on breed and sometimes weather but usually around the time puppies enter adolescence they will shed all of their puppy coat and slowly start growing their adult coat. and also our boy did what felt like an entire coat blowout when he turned one year and grew in his final bigboy coat 😂 the first year of owning a puppy is always wild! but also considering that these kinda Inu breeds have double coats, it might be good to invest in a good brush and shampoo to help with the yearly coat changes! :) Panchan seems to be a lovely dog!

One issue I have encountered whenever I'm in Japan is that counter-tops are too low. I'm about 6 feet tall (183 cm). I'm trying to guesstimate Mika's height and I don't think she's as tall as I am and even then, the counters look low.
Pancake is so adorable. Certainly loves his human Mom. Me and spiders do not get along. I have gotten some bites from non poisnous spider and turned out be very allergic so have to keep benadryl on hand year round. I so love your home and doing that deep clean was good but I have watched other channels where they are totoally anale about cleaning . Why would have to sterilize everything everyday only them in the house. What is the big deal about about not seeing your parents . So not the way I was raised. I took care of my parents all my life and believe me I DO NOT REGRET it at all. God Bless give Pancake a scratch from me.

I live in a one room hale / studio with limited storage as well and my stove is in one corner. I recently added two small shelves high above my stove to store my bigger pots and pans and it's changed EVERYTHING for my 3 small kitchen cabinets. Nothing like using your vertical space when floorspace is limited!
And after watching this I am so inspired to start my new year cleaning and I'm totally going to put up a panel of peg board on the other wall next to my stove which is still empty. Gotta use that vertical space. Love your videos & happy new year! 🌺 Aloha from Big Island!
