Fun fact: Aang's name is actually pronounced by "ong" but since the show version decided to use aang's name and make the A into a long vowel sound which sounds like "Ang". The short way to say this is that they americanized Aang into "Ang" that's why everyone is complaining that his name is Aang and not Ong

My problem with 'whitewashing' is that other than a very few select movies(this one being, really, the only good example), I believe the term is excessively used. To be fair, there are not that many actors of various ethnicities. The ones that are available, typically only have a few roles in a certain genre. Attempting to have them take on every possible role based solely on their ethnicity is more racist than whitewhashing in my opinion.
Actually... It's SIX earthbender. Just watched that scene few days ago, and found out that there's actually six, one behind an earthbender, makes it harder for him to be seen.

My problem with 'whitewashing' is that other than a very few select movies(this one being, really, the only good example), I believe the term is excessively used. To be fair, there are not that many actors of various ethnicities. The ones that are available, typically only have a few roles in a certain genre. Attempting to have them take on every possible role based solely on their ethnicity is more racist than whitewhashing in my opinion.

It turns out he had already chosen to shave his head BEFORE he auditioned to be a part of the movie. People who knew him often joked that he looked like Aang. To any Hollywood casting directors reading this comment section for some reason, this is a good example of why you shouldn't cast actors because they look the part. It is no guarantee that said actors will be able to play the part well.
