“Funk #49” topped my request list as I was counting on Yoyoka to use the free rein allowed by the song to add her own touches and then let loose during the “intermission”. She did just that, spicing it up with that infectiously playful style we all appreciate, and every aspect of her performance is a delight. Would definitely buy from again!

I've seen so many videos of YOYKA that I am no longer blown away 😢 This was so much fun though. I have and will be a devoted fan until my dying day. I've been a drummer for 45+ years, and she was better at the age of 8 than I am or ever will be...
Nothing makes me happier than watching a fellow drummer who looks like they are having SUCH a great time!

sometimes watching a drummer playing in the pocket is so much better than a whole bunch of tricky complicated stuff. It's playing music vs playing drums.

Watching Yoyoka helped get me thru the COVID years.
When she went to Pearl to pick out whatever she liked, she said at the time she did not want rack toms because she didn't like them, too small and no good sound. It was like she knew her mind then years ago, and what she wanted to do.
Instead she said big effen floor toms, thanks.
I am happy to see she held true to what she loves, and that seems to be big arena drummer type sound.

Jim Fox was a very groovy drummer, when watch yoyoka play to the James gang you can see what a great drummer he was by the way she nails his technique !!
The great thing about a Joe Walsh song is he always leaves space for an artist to play around.

Whenever I am having a bad day, I sit back and watch Yoyoka jam, and I am immediately filled with joy. There are plenty of talented drummers out there, but Yoyoka has a unique feel for the music she is playing, and her charisma pulls the listener right into the experience.

I've watched this many times now because it is so good but I've only just noticed the Final Fantasy tee shirt! For those who don't know Yoyoka provided drum parts for 18 tmusic tracks for Final Fantasy. I forget the series ID but you'll find it amongst Yoyoka's many vids. Well worth a listen or 10 . She is such a professional.
She nailed the drum solo as good if not better than the original. Wow !

Lord have mercy! That breakdown at about the 1:41 mark that just keeps getting more outrageous as it blooms out knocked my ears into my watch pocket! Reminiscent of her breakdown on her cover of Virtual Insanity. But far longer and 4x more complex. She makes good stuff great. She makes great music epic. Go back and watch her cover of Black Dog ~ a LIVE version of a famously unique and difficult song to cover. This is such a treat to watch her expand and conquer style after style as she twists their tails with her own special MOJO! Hammer time Hokkaido Hammer time that is. Swimming pools and moviestars!

I saw the James Gang in Grand Prairie, Texas when they reunited and toured in 2006. They played spectacularly and I was so impressed by Jim Fox's drumming. I think he'd really appreciate how well you laid that grove down today! The fun of the song is also very noticeable.
I saw the original trio lineup in 1971. I was 14.

I'm 66 years old and have been playing all my life. I find it amazing how much I learn from her just by watching her play. Her timing and pace are impeccable. Watching her play is cathartic. Not to mention you play all the music I like and grew up playing.

James Gang always rocked
So completely effortless. Yoyo is killing it without breaking a sweat. Jim Fox was the drummer for the James Gang (and may still be?) - I hate to use the vastly overused phrase, but it applies here that he is absolutely one of the most underrated drummers from the classic rock era. The James Gang disappeared from most of their fans' radar when Joe Walsh departed to become a solo artist and later of course, joined The Eagles and added significantly to their existing abundance of talent. But the James Gang continued with a new guitarist and stayed a little busy continuing to record and play live. I need to do a Wiki and check out the current status of the band and the great Jim Fox.
