An enjoyable course - I wonder how much would have changed after the collapse of communism.

I had been a fan of this series to help me understand the Russian language very keenly - even if it gets you into intermediate-level fluency.
But I ran into a snag. I realized that minutes 7-14 of this Russian-language telecourse had been cut off. I know that this part that was not seen in the video focuses on dealing with life inside a Russian restaurant, and Tanya and George Feifer giving some vocabulary on what a "Russian "Mehnyou"" would contain. The scene also involved a sort of a modernized Russian "czardas" - or Gypsy song, done by a modern Russian polka band playing in a background of a certain Russian restaurant, which includes electric guitar. It is sad that this part of the program had been missed. We see that polka band after "Do cvedanya, leytoh", but for me, this is very, very "gorkoh." (bitter)
