It's a song that Dany love to share with such emotion, as she knows it touches people. You know that she is a giving person, it's clear in this song she wrote and comes across in interviews and meet & greets. A heart of gold.
There are so many people stuggling with different kinds of lonliness, and this song speaks to all those different feelings people are going through. Astonishing from someone so young, but an eternal classic for sure
With songs like this I can bet they help a lot of people through a lot of days. I'm looking forwards to seeing them play whenever they get close enough to me to make it happen!
If this is underrated then people need to re-think it. It's not a particularly technical song, but sometimes simple is better. And this is simple, real, and you can't help but feel the feelings while listening to it
Hey Damien! These ladies have the ability to make you cheer and cry in the same song and give you goosebumps throughout. They will be the biggest band in the world, I am sure of it. It's only a matter of time. Future Legends! Welcome to The Warning Army (TWA). And you haven't even heard or seen anything from their second album, Queen of the Murder Scene (QOTMS). It's a concept album that tells a story, like a musical graphic novel. Absolute Masterpiece, written and performed by teenagers.
Thanks for the notes on the second album. I will find the track list and go through it from start to finish, then I can hear the songs in order and hopefully get a proper sense of the whole story rather than just listening to and appreciating stand alone tracks
Simple song but lovely, this was done when they were at Berklee doing their music course that they were sponsored for and Dany was getting quite homesick. The reason for the song was that it was for an end of course project, it was a great inspiration for writing it! Nice reaction, if you like the softer side of the band then there are three really good songs; Pau singing a cover of Creep by Radiohead - just her and a piano, then there’s Black holes again Pau but this time with a keyboard later joined by Dany and Alé, finally a personal favourite Revenant, live at Teatro Metropolitan joined by a friend they call uncle (because he has the same surname), a lovely soulful song but with a dark meaning - look up Revenant meaning.
One that is often overlooked from the first album, 21st Century Blood, is Show Me the Light. It has a very tasteful guitar solo. See the Dakota Bar recording.
Thanks for the tips - I will definitely be checking them out. I'm not necessarily all about the quieter songs, but I love songs that speak to me lyrically and make me feel, and this definitely does that
Thanks for the reaction, enjoy your mushroom picking! The Warning Army is all excited today, the ladies revealed two new songs at their concert, in Guadalajara, last night. We think these are awesome and maybe help them make it“over the top” in the industry!!!
Hearing that there are new songs coming out when I still have so much of their old stuff to catch up on makes me happy - it means I've got a lot more to look forwards to with these girls :-)
This song continues to change a bit over the years. Last night Dany did a strictly acoustic version that was stunning as well. Simple but sometimes that’s what you need.
Such an amazing song written by a homesick teenage Dany, while at the Berklee College of Music! The Warning can translate emotion into music like no other! Awesome reaction!
A beautiful song written when she was 15 and homesick it's mind boggling how crazy talented these sisters are and how lucky we are to be able to enjoy their brilliance. Thanks Damien for reacting to this song. Look forward to more great songs by TW. ⚡🔥⚡🔥⚡
It is straightforward and poignant for sure. As said here in other comments, Dany wrote that as an assignment when they were in a 2015 summer program at Berklee College of Music in Boston (when Dany was 15, Pau 13, and Ale 10). It is a message that is pretty timeless I think. They have a real knack for writing songs that can touch a lot of people. Can't wait for your Enter Sandman take.
this is Dany's song... Ale and Pau accompany with only their instruments... no harmonies or backing vocals... the blacked out solo beginning and ending with Dany alone in the spotlight is beautiful and quite fitting for this song and what it represents... Dany wrote this when the girls were at Berklee Music College in Boston attending the summer session they offer(ed)... she got very homesick and also had a homework task to write a song... she hadn't any ideas, time was running out, and being homesick was devastating... she did a vlog about being homesick... afterward she realized she could harness the emotions and pain she was feeling to write her song... i haven't heard what grade she got for it but many of us hope it was an A+... Dany has also stated several times that when she writes a song, it is from her heart and whatever emotions she is feeling at the time... so here we are enjoying this truly heartfelt song of loneliness and heartache... speaking of Berklee Music College, their concert at "Liceo" (basically Spanish for "learning place") had multiple purposes... for one purpose, the story is that they needed something to submit to Berklee showing Ale's and Pau's chops and how well they played their instruments... this because both of them were less than 15 years old which is/was the age cut off for the summer program they were wanting to attend... so each of them chose a song to show off their talents... IIRC, those songs were "Hysteria" for Ale, "Everlong" for Pau, and "Crazy Train" for Dany but i may be off on those... old brain and all that stuff LOL anyway, apparently BMC accepted their submissions because all three girls attended at the same time... while they were there they did vlogs to send to Ellen DeGeneres to keep her and her show up to date on how they were doing while at BMC... this because Ellen and Target gave each of the girls a check to help pay for them to attend the summer session at BMC... TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
Thank you for the history. This is a great song, one of my favourites so far. Sometimes keeping things simple is all that's required, and this song is one of those times. Just a girl singing a song about lonliness - so much more real than 13 year old pop stars singing about how they lost the greatest love of their lives for the umpteenth time...
Dany's Song. No backing vocals on this one. To think she wrote this at the young age of 15 when she was homesick attending Berkley school of Music in Boston. I consider this to be a masterpiece and a great song.
I've listened to this song a lot in the last few days. Some songs grow on you over time - this one hit right on first listen and is already an all time classic in my view
Oldest song still in their setlist. Dany wrote the whole thing in 4 hours. Her sisters tease her they want to quit doing it because they have nothing to do.
It may be an 'old' song for them, but I think it's a timeless classic. And I'm sure deep down her sisters really enjoy the song, enjoy the rest, and enjoy watching her shine :-)
Last night at Teatro Diana in Guadalajara Dany did a solo acoustic version of When I m Alone with a bit of storytelling. With that rendition she confirmed her status as a diva. Here is a link of that performance captured by Warning SLP. It has captions on, so we can translate what Dany said in between singing When I Am Alone. ua-cam.com/video/mLWe4nVKDJg/v-deo.html Talk about having a crowd in the palm of your hand!!!
Thank you for the link, I really appreciate it. And yes, she's a natural at controlling the crowd. I love every moment of everything I see with these girls.
@@SpawnMeister666 You are most welcome. Last night at their hometown concert Pau played Black Holes on piano with violin accompaniment. She sang it live probably after 6 years.

@@SpawnMeister666 They has so many great songs that I think some songs just get overlooked a bit.
This song has seen several transformations throughout the years but i love this one the best.
The way it was staged was perfection. Fantastic from start to finish, and it must be amazing to stand in front of a crowd and reach people in that way
@@SpawnMeister666 check out how she sang it in Guadalajara. Really special.

Just FYI, they were at Berklee College of Music (in Boston) rather than Berkeley (in CA). But those are often confused.
@@oldmanyeni1663 thx, will correct it!
@@DarrellW_UK No prob. I have friends and colleagues who have attended both so understand the challenge since they are both outstanding institutions.
