I did an immortal squirrel run once, it was how I found out about starvation.
My run was with the replication sigil.
Literally all I need is the 1 squirrel card from the start and I can play it over and over again

First time I ever saw the totem I got infinite squirrels, my expectations were set extremely high for what to expect from them in the future.
if you fuse 2 pelts into one you can trade that too for fused cards

Alright got a challenge for you: use only cards of a specific archetype to complete a run
Wolves: Damage
Woodland: Crowd control
Birds: Rushdown
Bugs: Swarm
Reptiles: Defense
First I want to fill the wall, then I will try challenges etc
Insectiod is doable, and comparatively easy if you swap out your squirrels for bees.
Squirrel is maybe possible if you can get to a totem base that gives them the sigil where they gain power and health after one turn, though even then it probably will take a few tries.
Reptillian mostly just needs you to fill your deck with enough gecks that you consistently draw a couple on turn one, and then get the right totem to scale up to your good units. I imagine that's possible.
Canine would be difficult as you'd have to get the boons of the bone lord and use it to summon alphas and coyotes, then sacrifice those for other units. I'm not sure that's even possible, but if it is the strategy is inconsistent enough that its unfeasable.
Feathered might be doable with the same help of the bone lord and consistently topdecking a Turkey Vulture. Still not feasable.
I don't think Hooved is even theoretically possible, unless it has free units or bone-based ones that I've forgotten.

I got immortal squirrels on the run that got me to the end. I was even more amazed at how powerful they were when I figured out you could spam squirrels to block attacks while you just take free cards from your deck.
I wonder if something happens if you make enough squirrels orbit the moon.
I love this whole series of videos you've done on Inscryption. The card game itself is so solid that I couldn't get enough of it when I first watched Mansly play it. Thanks!

Most OP I've had was squirrels with "field mice" symbol. Play a squirrel get one in your hand.
it also works great with ants. Instead of drawing squirrals, you play an Ant. Easy to get 4/4 Ants on the field.
Ah yes, immortal squirrels, I finally beat the game with one of those totems. Basically kept sacrificing a squirrel and orobouros making it extremely op
I think an interesting mod would be one that would reset the paintings to the second painting every run. You would have to try to get a painting every run which isn't too easy
If you sacrifice the rat king on the cockroach you have infinite cockroaches, cause if it dies it gives you exactly the bones to play it again
Or you could sacrifice the cockroach on a geck.

My experience with the squirrel was with the Replication Sigil (the sigil on the mouses card).
It’s similar to the Unkillable Sigil, but unlike needing to get to the second or third turn to receive more squirrel card to deploy a 3-4 blood card, the Replication Sigil lets me place down 4 squirrels with a single squirrel card in turn 1.

Squirrel totem with the base that summons ants got me all the way to the final boss on my first run with totems
And you somehow found something even more broken than the undying squirrels.
Only reason i lost that run was the Prospector mask leaving me defenceless against a mantis god
This reminds me of the stall cards like marshmallow from Yu-Gi-Oh back in the day before games went at light speed
The most overpowered card in my opinion is the diving bird thing because if you are able to give it the the mantis either the God mant to sort of normal mantis ability it basically does piercing damage at a minimum of 2 or 3 that can end up doubling just from a campfire.
You mean the kingfisher card? That 1 card that is either broken or an active detriment based on what sigils you give it?
Yeaaaah, I had an unkillable squirrels run recently... after I picked up the Oroboros and built it up to be a 200/200, there was nothing that could stop me
Honestly I like that you seem to find as many different ways as possible to be overpowered, as long as you are mixing it up with different strategies it's still enjoyable to watch lol
I had gotten the pack rat ability on the squirrel totem once I wasn’t really looking for a victory

@@blindedjourneyman I am not the best at the game but unlike other very good totems there isn’t many cards that have a synergy with using items then to replace(direct synergies) and you can get screwed by rng
You never know what overpowered is until you play the deck which insta wins even if you don't want it :)). Happened to me. I got the bees, then got the insta kill totem on insects and created an insta kill insect deck. Whick is broken if you also get some cokroaches or sacrifice them for mantice gods. You should try it.

I got one even stronger. You know the steel mice in the second act which a copy of it is created in your hand? Yeah, that sigil exists in the first act and you can put it on your squirrels... I also managed to put it on a packrat and combined them when I got the chance. In the end I had 3 8/10 packrats (I buffed it with the campfire) and a Urayuli (7/7) with sacrifice sigil.
Oh sweet someone else got that nasty totem. xD
There's one for the pack rat sigil too, which...is very. Overpowered.

@@sarptopaloglu2157 Yes. Lol It's not as bad as the Field Mice or Deathless. Since leshy dealt me more Boulders and frozen Possum's then anything but, it can enable a shit deck like pure-elk tribal really well. xD
I learned that the field mice rat is the most broken thing, everytime you place a rat, it makes a duplicate in you're hand and you can just essentially place you're whole hand on turn one
Even when you have the bees and insect totem, sometimes it's still a struggle against certain fights so the runs with an op setup are still fun to me
Can you contact the devs and have them create a freeplay version of the roguelike element

Kept meeting the Woodcarver I had 1 Immortal totem + Squirrel, Wolf, Beast, Bee, Bird and so on before even reaching the cabin. So much totem I wondered if I'll start using 2 row of them.
Nah. If you have too many totem parts she just gives you an Amalgam. I know this cause I kept hunting for an insect head to buff my ants
That was a good run, but.. one bit of criticism. If you're going for immortal squirrels, bones are your best bet. You just end up having a tonne of bones with all the sacking of the squirrels.
And even if you aren't constantly sacing them, you wanna run them out as blockers every turn, giving you even more bones!

Then you can easily lose to Flyers if you don't generate bones before they die.

Or Field Mice. They create a copy of themselves into your hand whenever played. Immortal squirrels + field mice = always have 3 of 4 squares covered. If you merge those mice, you get 3 4/4 mice on the field no matter what, every turn. It always gives infinite bones.
26:42 exactly, in late game I'm always almost out of squirrels and cards, so i have a spammable thing, and also mortality is very useful to give to someone else
Fun fact if you didn't know: For a scenario like 12:50 you can always check either option and what they are offering, if the offers are bad you can just press esc, go back to main menu then continue the game and it'll restart back from where you started before the choice and you can go on the other path.
I think Cockroach is most useful when you can get a 4 bone sigil on it, so you can summon it forever, makes it so you can trigger all the Trapper's traps, get a bunch of pelts, and not lose anything, cause you just summon the roach, pop the trap, summon it again, pop the next trap. It basically becomes free at that point cause it pays for itself whenever it dies.
If you put the "gives 4 bones on death" on a cockroach it becomes an undying squirrel with 1 attack. It's essentially a less OP yet more easily achievable method of infinite sacrifice as it's easy to get the bones on a sacrifice and easy to get cockroaches.
I'm not sure if you'd had the chance to try it, but squirrels with pack rat's ability totem allow you to just cycle through items which can be a little broken unless you keep rolling fans -_-
Also, again not sure if you've found this but trading pelts ran through the Mycologist, even if you have 1 augmented and the rest are normal, you can buy spliced cards instead of normal ones which is kinda interesting
Finally beat Leshy with the Film in hand, took about 6 hours. Came to your channel to figure out what to do in the empty cabin. Now New Game +? Like a whole new game! Looking forward to watching you.
I already did that in parts 1-9 and also the "all puzzles and secrets" vid.

Nut runs happen nature of a roguelike.
Also on the thing of bees, imo the squirrel totem is stronger but bees are more consistent. (No need to hope for nuts just free 1/1 fliers for days.)
how is the squirrel totem stronger if the bee deck gives you the insect totem head as well? there’s basically no difference other than bees doing damage
@@seyj7457 Oh right bees count as insects, i forgot about that.
In that case, I think it's wash, squirrel totem is free every game, while bees require you to get two carvers with insect+nut effect. (with the added benefit of boosting a real tribe.)
@@woomod2445 once you get the bees, during the next game and every game afterwards with the bees instead of squirrels you start off with the insect head.

2:35 I had something equally as good as this totem. Actually 2 things. 1, a Rabbit Hole Squirrel totem. 2, a Hoarder Squirrel totem. With the Rabbit Hole squirrels, I could easily send out my higher cost creatures faster. And with the Hoarder squirrels, I could send one out, and if I had a Corpse Eating Urayuli in my deck, I'd pull that out, and the let the squirrel die to a wolf or what have they, and then the striker of the squirrel is doomed.
I actually beat act 1 with a **slightly** stronger version of it: *FECUNDITY SQUIRRELS.* Place one, another is immediately added to your hand.
That means having as many sacrifices as you can place them from turn 1. *I could summon pretty much my entire hand whenever no matter what I drew.* Blood? Bones? I could run high costs on both. (though I focused mainly on blood) *And even if I didn't have the card I needed, I could stall as long as I wanted because I was never out of squirrels to block. If it didn't fly, I'd block it.*
cockroach as is, its value is that in a blood deck your generating a bunch of bones that are just doing nothing.
so cockroach gives those bones some value.
Immortal squirrels are so OP. That and Urayuli with 3-lane attack, or a stacked Ouroboros and you're unbeatable :)
My favorite totem I got was the squirrel head with the ant sigil. Made an ant army.
Cockroach only gets super good if you can put bone king on it. Otherwise stinkbug with cockroach sigil is the good version of what you are talking about with cockroach. Anytime you do a two sacrifice with stinkbug included you get to summon stinkbug again for free.

Immortal squirrels, that was my second totem, right after infinite sacrifice squirrels, it's amazing.

Immortal squirrel run got me my first win, and the fact that I lost 5 times making me into a god who knows exactly what will happen during the fight
Honestly half the totems with squirrels are broken. Now getting wolves with bifurcated strikes is fun as hell
This is why I don't have any cabin unlocks at all. The game is just too easy, especially with the squirrel head because there are many sigils that are an auto-win. The drafting is an interesting mod but I'm not sure why it gives the player a wolf pelt choice. Should just be 4 standard cards and that's it
True, but I don't think the game was meant to be played like a straight rougelike, so the devs didn't really care all too much about making it too challenging or balanced. I mean, you can still treat it like it is and make Leshy's dream come true, but you're always going to run into difficulty issues short of someone making a custom mod that turns part 1 into it's own thing.
The mod actually defaults to only giving standard cards, it only has like a 10% chance of giving a wolf pelt I think. He just got lucky

I discovered this technique by accident, it was seriously op
In two different runs I got the undying sigil on the squirrels and the infinite sacrificies one.I also managed to use the adder on the moon.Lol that run was op
just combine squirrel head with ant body to create an ant summon every time you play a squirrel, ant need 1 blood so every turn you play one squirrel -> play one ant. ants strength= number of ants -> your attack on the board/turn goes 1-4-9-16 per turn
and that entire strategy doesnt depend on what card you draw
immortal squirrels + tentacle with damage = cards in hand = OP combo
My best run was where I has a straight up heart of the cards yugi deck. I had bees that can search the deck, not to mention i had a death card that has the stats of a great white, search the deck and strike twice while being airborne. I also had two octo cards that gain attack Equel to the card in my had, if that ain't slifer i don't know what it is.
The mycologists could give you a good card if you don't have any dupes, it gives you a dupe card that you have so that could work in your favor!
Mantis god makes for some op af death cards. Imagine a grisly that attacks three times. Its insane
a UA-camr called manlybadass made a 7/7 that hits 2 lanes and has death touch and only costed 0 blood to cast
If you get the chance to combine tail drop and unkillable, it's a real trip
On the cockroach, I did see that conversation on the discord. The thinking that chump blockers are useful late game seems flawed to me, when the cockroach is taking the place of a card that, in this game, can easily contribute to a one turn kill.
I just had a run with field mice squirrels… I didn’t even need to draw more squirrels since I just had an infinite one that also gave me an endless supply of bones every time I sacrificed it…
You can also get a backpack squirel totem. That means infinite items.
Roach with the four bones sigil as soon as you can play you can keep playing it which is nice 😊
Immortal Squirells + 4 in hand = free defense
Ive always done a wolf run ,basically get any wolf card ,stunted or normal or even the wolf cub. Boost thier stats at the fire and use the two or three pronged attack. Insta wolf rampage lol. Also i keep a shark,oroboros on hand incase im feeling mean.
This is how I beat the game, I got that totem bottom and stuck a squirrel head on it. Ez win

I got immortal squirrels on my third run from the tutorial. I beat the final boss. I also got several amalgamations which were also immortal. I beat it so fast I didn’t even get to solve the paintings. It was the same run I unlocked greater smoke. I got as far as possible every run before he “cheated”.
Won for the first time by getting three sacrifice totem on squirrels
So everyturn i could get a 3 blood card out. Very awesome

Fun fact: I think that you can get pelts while creating death cards, as well as a urauly and mantis god, so you can theoretically have a free cost (pelt) unit with 7 damage and health (urauly) and triple hit (mantis god), and if you add immortality on it you can use it infinitly for no cost. It deals 21 damage if all 3 hits go straight to enemy, and it CAN be a flyer too if you give it that, proving that death cards are completely fair and balanced.
And in case it goes against you, you can simply use a poison unit, the hook (like the only good use for it that wouldn't be wasteful) or sacrifices will have to be made (put units to tank through all the damage)
Well, if you don't have flyblockers your toast and you can't hook backline units, so it's gonna come in and toast you
@@Sifd sacrifices will have to be made then. A fair price of 3 squirells for surving a single round (if it doesn't have flight)
Try it after your squirrels are bees. All insects are immortal, and you can just keep sacrificing. Add a bee hive, kill off the fireside guys, get a 0/10 bee hive... coast. Hell, get the insects with the "ant queen" ability. Every bee makes an ant, each ant costs 1 bee. 4/4 bees... profit.
I’ve done this and also had a run where I made it so my squirrels count as three sacrifices
I had the squirel totem that had the Field mice sigil
Imagine you could stack squirrel totems and giving them *both* the sacrifice for 3 sigil and the bounce to hand sigil, you'd have the most broken summons that unless you had a bones or 4 blood cost card you could not brick and just summon everything
The best build I had was when my Squirrels could let me draw from my deck. So I used it to get my buff sounded wold (4/2) that gave a plus 1. Then turn two into mantis God. I wiped normal encounters like it was nothing.

I've never seen anyone playing get the Field Mouse Sigel totem. It's probably the most broken one of all of them. At least with immortality on those squirrels the most you can reasonably expect to drop on turn 0 is a 2 blood maybe 3 blood if you have a Warren or Squirrel bottle. But with the mouse sigel you can drop Uraiyulli on turn 0, and then a Bear, and then a wolf. It's disgusting. xD

It's a 1/1 that costs nothing and can get a sigil of your choice :P
If you give it the undying sigil and buff it with fires for damage even just once, it’s really strong.

My easiest run by far was when I got the magpie sigil on my squirrels. I had instant wins that costed 1 blood, I won every single turn for the rest of the game.
