  • In this week´s motorhome life video we travel through Switzerland and into France, heading up into the mountains towards Mont Blanc. We encounter snow, waterfalls, and stunning views along the way. We the take a very special train ride to 6000ft where we enjoy snow and a burger and chips on the mountain. We then head back down and explore the Olympic town of Albertville.

    Alison, I hope you are feeling 100% better now. ❤ Hope you’ve had a chance to relax and recover.
    Thank you for filming this incredible journey.
    Yay 🚊 Train!!
    Well worth the money to have that view while eating a burger and chips. Once in a lifetime experience. Enjoy every moment.

      Hi Joanne,
      I'm not 100% better yet, but feeling SO much better than I did, thank-you. It's just morphed into a cough/cold. We've had lots of downtime in the last 10 days, so now I just need to fight through it.
      The train was amazing. We intend to go back again when the snows have cleared, to be able to take the train much further up. We really did enjoy the snow though too.
      As for the burger, we're not sure if the setting made a difference to how we felt, but the burger tasted amazing. One of the best that we've had for a while. 😍 🍔 ⭐
      Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

    Loved watching your train ride and the snowy conclusion to the journey. Hope Alison recovered quickly and the warmer climes will make the walking easier again x x

      Hi Barry and Sarah,
      Alison here. The train ride was amazing. I'm feeling much better than I was thanks. The warmer weather has made walking easier, but not so much fun. 😬

      Thank you so much Carole. The germs are hanging around a lot longer than I (Alison) would have liked, but I'm feeling so much better than I was. Just a cold now. Thankfully Darren can edit out the constant nose blowing. 🤣🤣
      Hopefully there will be some more incredible views coming soon. 😉

      Thank you so much Martin. The germs are hanging around a lot longer than I (Alison) would have liked, but I'm feeling so much better than I was. Just a cold now, but you're absolutely right, there are so many worse places to be ill in. 😬 Thankfully Darren can edit out the constant nose blowing. 🤣🤣
      Hopefully, we will be adventuring in the Pyrenees soon. 😉

    Well that was a train and a half! Loved how it gently ascended and you could put your head outside to take in the scenery without worrying about losing it 😂 Really seemed wonderful. The top looked unbelievable too, not just the mountains and snow but the dark grey clouds really gave it an atmosphere. Was it possible to go off walking from there if you wanted or too much snow for that? I must admit my heart jumped when you seemed to be veering away from the main area in thick snow and hoped you weren't too close to an edge 🙈 I'm sure you were fine of course!
    Pricey yes but you have to weigh up when it's worth splashing out on the fun things and when to hold back, and I think it's safe to say that was one that justified the spending!
    Sorry you've been unwell but glad it seems to be clearing up. I'm sure you'll improve no end when you get back to Spain! ❤
    Take care both x

      The train was incredible. We loved every second. It certainly had some force to it when it was on the stepper slopes. It was sometimes an effort to stand upright, but so much fun. The passengers in the train we passed, taking video of us, taking video of them, was priceless. 😍
      Darren called it a "once in a lifetime thing" to justify the cost, but it really has to be a twice in a lifetime thing, so that we can take the train the rest of the way to the end of the track during spring/summer/autumn.
      There were quite a lot of other people walking around. As for the safety aspect, we guessed that if we could see other footprints, without a chasm in the ❄️, we were safe to walk, but we didn't go too far. Fingers crossed we have more snow too come before the sun off Spain. 🤞🤠😎
      The germs have taken me (Alison) a while to shift, but I'm getting there now. 🤧
      Hope you are both germ free and fighting fit now.
      Much love, Alison and Darren 💜🤟

      @@findingxanadulife Going back so you can get to the top definitely seems like a must. We may pass into Switzerland in June, although I think we're swaying towards giving Germany full attention for a good month before we have to come back.
      We are both well thank you, it took forever for ours to shift entirely, so you'll get there, glad you're on the mend though ❤

    • @findingxanadulife
      @findingxanadulife  5 місяців тому

      @comealongdear Even if you pop into Switzerland for a day or 2, if you're in the corner of Germany, you can still get the sense of it. Or a couple of days in Austria might be easier. Get your 'big mountain' fix for this year. 😜
      It's a shame we'll be on opposite ends of Europe this summer. Glad you're both well now. 😘💜🤟

    So how much was that burger?

    • @findingxanadulife
      @findingxanadulife  5 місяців тому

      Hi Andry,
      The burger was €21.50 which we didn't feel was an inexcusable price, bearing in mind where the restaurant was. We've seen lesser burgers for much more money in much plainer places. 🤷🏼‍♀️💜🤟
