I’ve always wanted a tablet, specifically one with a display and this one at an entry level fits the bill and the budget exceptionally well.
Yes it’s not professional quality, but it does what you need for a first time tablet in every way conceivable.
Thanks for the video on it Colin.

First of all, thank you for all of the information you make available on these products. It makes it much easier to decide what to buy. I am considering buying the Wacom Intuos Pro Medium. My old Wacom tablet finally bit the dust. My concern is that the raters have said the surface is too rough. So I looked at the possibility of getting the smooth texture sheet. It appears that the smooth sheet is no longer available which brings a coupe of questions to mind. Why would they stop selling them? Is the "Standard" texture sheet that is available the same sheet that comes on the new unit? Thanks for you help!!!

Colin, this is a great review.
I create simplified line drawings from my original landscape photos in order to watercolor them. First, I print an 81/2 x 11 paper color photocopy of the landscape photo. Then I use a black marker to create a line drawing (or outline) of the landscape photo. Then I use see thru transfer paper on top of the line drawing and copy the drawing to the transfer paper. Now I have a reusable template to use as a handout in a watercolor class. It can also be scaled up or down using a copy machine at Office Depot. I would love to see a tutorial on how to accomplish this line drawing process using the WACOM ONE PEN DISPLAY.
P.S. You already have a Photoshop tutorial on “How to Turn a Photo into a Pencil Drawing in Photoshop”, but this does not work on landscape photos
    Thanks.

So, I'm looking around for a new tablet and this looks really sweet...BUT...I'm working on an iMac late model 2013. Is it possible to use the Thunderbolt ports, specifically to maybe put an HDMI adapter on? I don't know a lot about anything connector wise, can't really afford a computer upgrade at the moment so any advice?

I ordered one of these from Wacom today and have already installed the drivers. I am not an artist but have a lot of negatives from over 50 years of professional photography that need scanning and restoration. I could have really used one of these several years ago doing portrait retouch for an upscale studio that went out of business in 2016. Needless to say, I retired. I have been doing Photoshop retouch since Photoshop 7.

Maybe another wacom's own pens from intuos or else, and also comparing the weight, size, and the feel between them.
I've heard that intuos pen LP-190K is the only one compatible so far, beside staedtler noris, lamy, and samsung s pen, but I don't know for sure.

Thank you for this nice introduction. I have been contemplating purchasing a WACOM tablet for several years now. My main purpose is to use it for my personal photographic renderings, etc. However, my immediate use is for online instruction. I know that this sounds boring, but I teach statistics and really need a way to write on a board while trying to engage my students. With that said, could you recommend any videos that may show how the WACOM products can be used for that purpose? By the way, I received this product yesterday. ... can't wait to use it. Thanks, again.

This is a good start for wacom. For a letter size sheet of paper, it is about 14in across. 13in 16:9 is quite smaller than that. Then considering you will have some UI in software, the real drawing area is much smaller. I would like to see a 15in version with 4 buttons or so, and a much thinner bezel.

Pen and pencil if you need to draw by hand and directions and curves matter. If you need to do finishing touches and other processes on digital, the best is simply the mouse. Sad but true. This thing is viable only if you need to draw simple stylized figures and you don't mind precision too much. Not worth the bucks.

I'm tied between getting a wacom one or intuos pro medium. I really like the idea of a pen display but I also have a 27" imac with an awesome display and I have heard pen displays can be ergonomically challenging. I'd hope to use this as a pen display but if it didn't work out because of the lower quality screen than I'm used to, and possible neck/back pain, could I just use it as a tablet; use it to draw on while looking at my imac screen? I've seen a video on UA-cam of that being done with a cintiq 16, but I can't find any answer about doing it with the wacom one. Any help appreciated 🙏

Highly disagree on this being a step up from the iPad. Just tried one out today and it was definitely not even close to a replacement other than the screen size being nice. But there is a lot of fluidity you’re losing out on going to one of these. The zoom, brush sizes, and rotating etc make the iPad a breeze to draw on while this makes it more of a chore trying to do the tasks manually. Also my personal experience the pen detection was not as accurate either as drawing with an Apple Pencil. I was also using it on a pretty good pc rig and still had some lag issues when drawing. I would skip this one due to the non touch sensitivity I’m sure any thing else in their touchscreen line up is probably far better but I would def not buy this again. Yes you can ultimately do more with it being that it’s hooked up to a pc/laptop but the drawbacks don’t really make a pleasant experience to work with imo.
Edit: also want to add the intuos tablet S I have with no screen is easier to draw on than this bc of the buttons and the second button on the pen that lets you grab the canvas as well 🤷‍♂️

Still sucks like at those times, still a useless hybrid lacking both the feel of paper and the binary precision of the mouse. Good purchase to throw back immediately and appreciate the mouse, weird but true.
