I have this pack and love it. One of the external water pockets i use to store my tech pouch which is clipped to the molle for extra security to not fall out. Leaves more space in main compartment. Eberlestock pouches you can attach with velcro to the inside are fantastic. I love organsation and this bag has plenty and lots of opportunity to tailor it to your needs. The most fantastic thing.... Is the harness system and how it carries. The hip waist belt (additional cost) is superb, absolutely superb. It is my daily go to bag now. Have it in black, looks pretty minimal and less tactical vs the other colours imho. Great review Danny as always.
Great review. There is much to love about the Eberlestock Switchblade backpack. The interior organization designed into it is particularly impressive, but the Molle webbing on the exterior is better left off. In the wild, I have seen a number of packers using packs sporting the exterior Molle webbing, but I rarely see it being used. Truth be known, I have a number of bags sporting the exterior Molle webbing and I never seem to use such on my packs. I believe Eberlestock offers a version without the exterior webbing for sale. Not surprisingly, it is presently sold out...a great bag for sure! Please note, I do use the Molle webbing on the interior of my packs.
I purposely chose this pack not only because I believe in Eberlestock’s quality, but specifically because it has webbing. With the work I do I often attach exterior pouches depending on what I’m doing. It’s not only convenient but a necessity to some of us, better to have it and not need it then…
Great video Danny. I've heard this bag get hyped up a lot, but you just convinced me to put it in the "someday" list. Also, since you like the look of this & the 5.11 Rush 12, I highly recommend you take a look at First Tactical. From what I've heard, one of the original founders/designers from 5.11 left the company to help form First Tactical, & you can see how their designs iterate on 5.11's. I recently bought a used Specialist Half-Day pack 24L, which is basically their version of a Rush 12 but with its own independent (although not well-padded) laptop compartment, removable compression straps you can place anywhere you want on the bag, hook/loop-lined main compartment, & a padded/ventilated back harness that is way more comfortable than the Rush 12. It's lighter, too, but doesn't feel less tough/durable. Even though they're more expensive than 5.11's stuff, you definitely see where that extra money went.
as someone that finds the able carry daily plus slightly too small for daily carry, and the northface recon a good size, would you say that this bag would fit the bill for me? TNF recon is rated at 30L but it has straps on the sides to cinch it down to be more compact when not fully packed, but when i travel with it, i found that the top loading zipper makes it slightly difficult to get to things i need at the bottom. daily carry seems more than enough but worried it might look saggy just carrying laptop, notebook, pens, and a sweater. what do u think? thanks for the review!
If it wasn’t for the tacti-cool look, I would have considered this. Got a Dragon 2.0 instead. All that molle stuff is plain annoying, since it has very limited functionality, especially compared to a beaver tail or a mesh/cord front.
Thank you for the video. I've been a huge fan of Eberlestock bags for years and own several. Check out the Bandit when you get a chance it's a great EDC and personal item carry-on. The other Eberlestock backpack that you should check out is their minimalist, gray man and slick Apprentice . Also check out the Jacknife 22.9L a pretty cool concept. I have all four and the Bandit is my favorite because of its smaller size of 15L. Great for EDC. Eberlestock has a great catalog of bags and as of late 2024 they released their new Fade Collection, an amazing line. Have a great day. God bless! Be safe! 🤙🪖👮🙏🇺🇸
Thank you for watching and for the additional suggestions! Very impressed with eberlestock so far and definitely curious about the apprentice and some of their other bags!:)

Thank you for watching and good callouts! I can see the webbing potentially getting caught on stuff and that’s cool they offer a version without it!

Thank you for watching and for the suggestion on first tactical! Seems like they have some great options as well!
first? As always great video bro! any chance of reviewing the jackknife?
Thank you for the support! The jack knife looks pretty great as well, I’ll have to see if there’s one available to test out!
I hate mollie and cords. But that harness system looks great and very unique. A slick version would be better.
Thank you for watching! Definitely a fan of the harness and it looks like they do offer a version without the webbing as well!
I have that EXACT same deck in my bag. -.- now I have to sub..
Thank you for watching and for the support! Definitely an awesome deck!

You can get it without the tacti-cool look. Check out the blue one.
Thank you for watching! The dragon is another great option!
