My favorite jazz singer. Was fortunate enough to hear her life at Blues Alley in DC the last year she was with us. Dinner for two and the incomparable Sarah a Vaughn for $100. Can't beat that with a stick!
I am just old enough to remember seeing Sarah Vaughan’s name on the marquee in that famous alley. It might have been her last run there. Thanks for confirming what I imagined was a wonderful occasion! Fortunate you were indeed!
Impeccable Sarah. This performance truely examplefies the sense of pure artistry. That control over her instrument, elegant and flawless performance are enough to catch your attention and take your fisical and mental presence in a world you never wanna leave. She is an enternal art!
Yes Nancy Wilson has a great voice, very talented. However! there is none like the incomparable Sarah Vaughan other than possibly Ella Fitzgerald. Greatness personified ❤
Fantastic! Thanks for the upload. I wonder who the band might be? Maybe the same one as on "Sassy Swing the Tivoli"? That is: Kirk Stuart - piano, Charles Williams - double bass, George Hughes - drums. Do you have any details on this particular date?
Her vocal control & THE BEAUTY in her voice is unmatched by ANYONE!!
... including Ella!
At her most divine!
This was perfect! Sarah's breath control is out-of-this-world. And she is such a showoff. I just love her.
I LOVE how she shows off singing Baubles & Bangles with her trio. The entire performance is sensational and priceless!
It ain't boasting if you can back it up... (Ali)
I AM the greatest. Thank you. HAHA!@@jimmybalantyne5545

This is the greatest live performance by any singer in any genre I have ever seen. Utterly incomparable.
More amazing every time I watch it.
Sarah would often let the sweat drip and run, no dabbing for her...who cared as we were captivated by that gorgeous voice.
Phrasing and depth of emotion are stunning, lush and Sassy.
Thank you ever so much.
That's glorious!!
Wow. It just doesn’t get any better than this.
With Kirk Stuart (piano), Charles 'Buster' Williams (bass) and George Hughes (drums).
Thanks. That was my question.
Lord! Phrasing and presentation immaculate. ❤ Devine!!
Aaaaaamazing!
Nancy Wilson had a nice voice. Her album with Cannonball Adderly early 60s a jazz classic.
Bananas are thirty pence each on the fruit barrow outside Holborn Station...

Sogni, sogni
Damn 😢
best female vocalist that lived.
Desnecessário tanta improvisação para uma música com uma letra tão objetiva e direta, prefiro a versão mais despojada e jovem do Chris Montez
Ela era uma cantora de jazz, Beboper ainda por cima... Não teria como esperar outra coisa.
