Hilarious skit. Hopefully Salter Street Films will release a Codco boxset or something. Incredibly talented show and cast from the early 90's in Canada.
I saw his when it was aired in the early 90s and never forgot it, in fact it is what comes to mind whenever someone mentions the show or I see a meme with it. Never forgot this, it was so memorable.
From RobGems68 (A fellow Metro Detroiter who grew up with The Friendly Giant as a child on Channel 9 in Windsor): One wonders if Bob Homme, who created The Friendly Giant would have had a sense of satrical humor and approved of this skit or if he were alive today he would have met with his attorneys on this parody.
No need for a hypothetical. Bob Homme was definitely alive when this aired. I don't know the exact air date of this episode, but this show, CODCO, ran from 1988-1993. Bob passed in 2000. Not sure what he thought of it, but there was definitely no lawsuit. I don't know how successful such a suit could be. Satire is generally not considered defamation under the law.
@@trevorlambert4226 Thanks for clearing that one up for me. As a Metro Detroit-based child, I grew up with Bob Homme on CBC Channel 9 out of Windsor, Ontario, and would have agreed that it would have been amusing that Mr. Homme had a sense of humor about poking fun of his show. I know in real life that Bob was a real nice guy, and this is a parody no more, no less.
This video is deplorable! What a disrespectful thing to do to the memory of such a beloved children's show, as well as the memory of Robert Homme who played Friendly Giant 😔
🤣🤣🤣 Ok, you just ruined my childhood! 😂😂😂
This is so wrong in so many ways... F'king excellent!
Great, im gonna need to see a shrink after seeing my happy childhood hero going psychotic and cookin up poor lite Rusty...

Now that I can't use UA-cam Adblocker, I have to sit through a 1-minute ad, then another 20-second ad, to watch this 2:13 clip.

Just as bad as when Jim Carrey spoofed Mr. Rogers.
Some things you just dont joke about and TFG is one of them.
Wasn't it Eddie Murphy?
@marey7955 Definitely Jim Carey but maybe Eddie did it too
@@kellark Eddie's version was the recurring "Mr Robinson's Neighborhood" on SNL.
@@BlueyKind .. Jim's version was a 1 time skit on In Living Color.
