I have told my friends overseas about this sketch and show, and they don't believe me when I recite the dialogue. Gonna make sure they see this link! Thank you for this!
One of my favourites, I watch this sketch 2 or 3 times a year and think "there is absolutely no way in hell this sketch would ever get prime time air play nowadays" the early 90's were an interesting time. Codco were so frigging sharp and just brutal to any form of authority.
It DIDN'T make it to air, only to video. The CBC cut the sketch, and Andy Jones said, Either the sketch gets aired, or I quit." The CBC refused, and Andy quit. Watching the sketch now, it seems like something out of "Father Ted". But the CBC in the early 1990s and Channel 4 in the late 1990s were very different in terms of network sensibilities.
nevermind, my girlfriend just looked it up and confirmed that it was originally cut and then aired it later after they switched it to a later time slot.
fyi to anyone reading and is a fan, Greg Malone has told me hes in search of the Star Trek TNG episode they did, hes never owned a copy and MUN wont let him at the copy they had to duplicate.
If anyone can add The Byrd Family in therapy or the Lucky margarine sketch..Oh yeah and the breastesses,,I would be in Heaven!! Thanks for adding this. Most of the Codco vids were taken down but they wont put them on DVD
this was filmed outside my jr high school...there was priest house right next to our school...with a pile of men living w/each other ...kinda creeped us out...great skit---rip tommy
@@gregmalone1855 Yes, so it was!! Greg was Slim Stretch, but I forget the name of the song. And there used to be one of the Newfoundland Indoors sketches on YT, it seems to have disappeared...hands down, they were my favourite segments. Although for me, the funniest line of any sketch was when the physicians were all looking into a chamber pot examining the Prime Minister's stool, and someone (Greg?) said "It doesn't look good for Quebec!" and I almost choked I laughed so hard...that line must have been ad libbed, just too funny not to have been spur of the moment.
Poor Tommy. taken way too soon. Is Greg Malone also Gay? I was just wondering because I seen pictures with his son. Thought maybe he dated tommy as well. Just curious lol

Some of the most brilliant comedy sketches ever created! An absolute blessing that these tremendously gifted actors never went "Hollywood."
Kids in the Hall got their chance to go there with Lorne Michaels' help. They failed miserably. America wasn't ready to be taken down that road.

Patrick Canning remember the “oil on the breastussess” skits...I’d love to see those again

It did air on the CBC, I've been quoting this sketch since I watched it in the early 90's and then sought it out on the internet years later.

Glad to find this on UA-cam! Saw it when it was on TV. It was so bold, so irreverant. I loved Codco!
It is a crime against humanity that this video only has 50k views
It should be required viewing for all Canadians -- and all Catholics everywhere.
I LOVED THESE GUYS.....TOMMY WAS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SOUL....💔😢💞

"I'm not sure what I am, I'm *that* saturated with booze and masturbation." I think they just summed up half the internet, let alone the priesthood.
This is fecking brilliant. Never be approved now.
It wasn't approved back then. Andy Jones quit the show as a result.

Magnificent!
I loved Codco
Anyone know what episode where their was blades on the stove..(hot knives).
How did this ever make it past the CBC censors?......
It didn't. CBC refused to air it, and Andy quit as a result.
@@harbourdogNL They did air it later on.
Watched it New Years Eve many years ago as Codco Uncut, never laughed sooo much in my life.
Feckin funny! Wonder if this inspired Father Ted- it has the same irreverent Irish charm.
not what I was expecting
Somebody please post Tommy’s “Friendly Fire” song.
That was Greg..Tommy did a Morrisey parody that was spot-on, called "Monday Spawned A Monster". It was from the Denial Awareness Concert episode.
@@harbourdogNL no that was Tommy doing Friendly Fire too

I'm actually doing a report on CODCO for my history class. If my teacher actually checks this out, I'd like to say: "HI SAHSA!"
Thanks CODCO! And Hail Satan!!
Tammy is my cousin

+Dylan MacDonald --no he is not gay but who gives a shit ya fish@
@@MikeSmith-nb5yy Greg Malone not only was gay, but he was Tommy Sexton's lover. I always thought this was common knowledge.
