I don’t know why nobody’s calling out the fact that it’s a blood thinner. I’ve tried it three times for a week or two each time and it always causes bleeding and bruising. Threw it in the garbage it was an expensive brand to.
As someone who has been diagnosed with the onset of diabetes I was immediately put on metformin. The side effects are terrible. I am now trying Berberine. If it doesn’t reduce sugar levels I will be forced to go back to metformin.
@@larryworkman1131 There are 3 macro nutrients (3 food types) that humans eat: Fat Protein Carbohydrates Fat and protein are essential nutrients - we have to eat them to survive. Carbohydrates are not essential - we don't need them to survive. Most people do eat carbohydrates (carbs). HOWEVER - carbohydrates become glucose when consumed and if we eat too many carbohydrates, our blood glucose levels (over time) become high - prediabetes, diabetes (etc etc etc). The goal is to have normal blood sugar levels (of course). Berberine will help you achieve this, but if you are still regularly eating too many carbs, your blood sugar will remain too high. Solution? Either: Eat low carb Eat very low carb Eat no carbs at all (I haven't eaten carbs in almost 2 years). Good luck 😊
Give it at least a month though. I take 2000 mg a day. So far very good. I haven't taken an A1C yet. But my cgm is showing greatly improved numbers. And less craving for sweet foods. Metformin did nothing for my blood glucose. Had some digestive issues on it. Even at 500x2 per day.
Berberine supplements are absolutely no good, that’s is all marketing, I tried every brand , even the more expensive, supposedly 9 times the absorption, did nothing. I eat a very healthy diet, no fats, oils or or processed foods. My fasting glucose was the same, with or without berberine supplements. I eat the dry berries, I don’t know if it’s make a difference, but at least, I know what I am consuming, and I not wasting my money in some supplement that probably doesn’t contain what it says it contains. Fact.
I hope people are giving Berberine a chance to work it doesn't work overnight. Studies compared it to metaformin and found the effects to be very similar. Everyone is different and some medications, and herbs may not mix well with everyone. I was nauseous at first (first couple of months) but now my body has adjusted to it. I prefer this over metaformin, side effects with it were way more than berberine for me.
I’m sorry that was your experience :( Berberine has lowered my blood sugar amazingly well! My inflammation has gone down snd overall I feel so much better. I have tried numerous brands. I take 1, 500mg pill in the morning and another one with my dinner.

Beautifully described and under 4 minutes.
One unexpected effect after i started taking berberine was strong, smooth, shiny nails and softer skin.
I would appreciate having the references stated as I want to read the papers. Thanks.

Thank you.
Thank you
Didn’t work for me. Blood sugar not changed. Gave me headaches and nausea.
How does it interact with statins?
It needs to be taken with milk thistle for absorption.
