I had an idea Peter. What about doing a similar bowl like this but color the resin in the bottom half of the bowl with white pigment so it literally looks like a bowl of cereal and milk suspended in mid air?
Personally I'd find it hillarious and infuriating at the same time (though more hillarious) if you did a Phillips head screwdriver filled with flat head screws, and vice versa.

You should stablize ramen (dry and/or cooked) and either dip it in more resin or just turn it on the lathe and make.. idk a bowl or something. Hah, a ramen noodle bowl to eat noodles out of!

Yes, but consider that the stabilizing resin would bond all the cereal pieces together which means that you need to individually stabilize each piece so they could be separated. Way too much work for me.

I think fruity pebles would have been a better cereal to use as you still get the nice rainbow coloration but the smaller peices mean that the resin would be able to penetrate the cereal better and you would have a more "consistant" material to work with.

Great result Peter, loved it. It may have been possible to put the cereal/resin mixture in the vacuum chamber for a few minutes ( weigh down the cereal so it is submerged) before pouring into the bowl mould and putting in the pressure pot. This would fill some of the voids in the cereal with resin. The only problem may be if the air expanding in the cereal may cause them to burst, but could be worth a try. Cheers Jim

Hey Peter, great project. To speed up the resign curing time you can build a small plastic tent over your project with a small heater. We used to do this with boatbuilding in a cold shed over winter.

Could you not stabilize them in the mold, then drain off the excess stabilizing fluid and "void fill" what remains with resin?
