The resin turnings would make great "spiderwebs" for Halloween.
I'd like to see a video in which you experiment with different types of flower/plant preservation vs resin. Leaves and stems seem to do best by the pages-in-the-book method. Flowers in general seem to preserve their color and shape best when buried in silica gel (which is also reusable). Whatever you decide, this video was a joy to watch. Thank you.
This is what I was going to suggest. They keep more "life" when you use silica gel
I love how it magnified the rose when it was poured in. Also, could you dip a fresh flower?
probably not. there's water in a fresh flower, and since nothing is TRULY 100% impermeable, that water is gonna eventually escape... and that rose is gonna rot inside the resin, and just look fugly.
I don't remember how or when I started watching this channel but I've been doing it for years and I still love it so much

Nicely done Peter. Also I can definitely appreciate your sense of humor. Nick had to have a sense of humor while he was doing the Jacksepticeye piece as well. :)
I feel your pain when dealing with resin -> “If I could only go back in time 15 seconds.”
Not gonna lie, this guy's hair is on point.
Having used roses , coffee beans and other porous/punky woods in resin I have found that they stay in tact and the color changes very little if you use a stabilizer like cactus juice in a vacuum chamber. The process is somewhat time consuming but the results are excellent.
Looks just like the enchanted rose from a certain fairy tale. I always knew Peter was a terrible monster and recluse who talks to his furniture.
I downloaded some honey into some butter, then uploaded that to some biscuits. Best day ever.
9:29 "I'm going to pretend the last seven days never happened". That's me every weekend.
Just watched the old concrete dragon egg video and i love videos that inude Mrs. Bown. Not in a creepy way but you guys have an excellent dynamic and its so fun to watch
hey, I have been thinking this for a bit but a lifting plate would probably help a lot for the pressure pot. it's just a circular plate of something with handles on the sides that go to or near the top of the pot which allows for easier placement and retrieval of the item in question.
You should grind up some dried petals for your next homemade pigment episode. Considering how well this went I’m sure it’ll only take you 1 try.
I wonder is there is a way to stabilize the rose before subjecting it to the heat of the resin?
Maybe two pours, one with a "mold" as tight to the rose as possible and another to give it the volume
@@828burke I wonder why not pour it in couple of layers. First layer just below the bud, then just over the bud, then more doming if needed. Would have to work with only 15-20 ounces of resin at time. I'm not very experienced with resin so my thinking might be faulty, but I've come to the understanding that more/thicker the resin pour the more heat it will generate.
*“first try”
* other roses were not completed nor polished therefore this is the “first try”
this is literally so beautiful.
I didn't know someone really make this stuff this was my dream debut gift since i watched beauty and the beast when i was a kid IT SOOO BEAUTIFUL
I don’t get how no one thought of this:
*IT’S THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ROSE!*
I'm pretty sure we all did XD
That was the point
Some of the suggestions in the beginning were literally to do the beauty and the beast rose.
Have you considered managing the heat of the resin by filling the rest of the pressure vessel with ice water so the heat could be wicked away?
The water will boil
RustyBrusher do you know how hot that would need to be
Falloutman 342 well probably 212 degrees fahrenheit, the boiling point of water
iwrotelionling guy I actually hate you big brain science man
The guys at Braille Skateboarding would certainly approve of your "first" try!

Remarkable!!! I had a batch of wasps go brownish silver when I put them in my dehydrator. I was like why didn't I just let science to it's thing. It's always a good time learning new things w resin though. I always tell newbies trial and error is the best way to learn.
Thank you for everytime you've made your shop an unholy nightmare of a mess for us man
You should do a video on how the alternative resin colors are after over a year of being casted

There, I saved you the effort of making this comment. I know you’re incredibly grateful, and you’re welcome.
