We need to see more actual videos of the unit being used on the water. I've had this unit for a year, and I have yet to see anything that looks like what they show in the demos. I would love to see some of the experts at this explain exactly what they see on the unit when on the water. On this video, on the downscan screen there seems to be a lot of "something" just above the bottom and I often see that, but don't know if they are fish or not. I have yet to see the "arches" that they talk about or show in the demo. I fish in a couple of lakes where there is not a heavy fish population. I also fish a couple of rivers, one of which I would expect to see pods of shad moving but can't say I have seen fish clearly on the screen. After a year I am not really sure of what I am seeing and wish there were more of this type of video.
I got mine last year and am very disappointed in it. They didn't tell me or label it anywhere that the unit won't read cmap charts so I wasted money on that as well.
I just got the eagle 9 which is what is replacing the reveal, however I am having such trouble finding the proper location of the transducer to get a nice clean image like yours! I have a 1988 ranger 393v
It’s the side scan of the boat so if you were to go on either side of your boat, a few feet or 20 feet straight down that’s why it’s called side view. What people don’t realize is cheap fishfinder generally only find fish directly under the boat path. It doesn’t lookon either side of the boat quite a few feet, but that will.

That's really fast to be seeing what's actually there.. need to be trolling at like 3-5 mph to get a more accurate read
Do you like the 7" screen or do you think the 9" would be better?
why is it called a side scan when you're looking vertically at the bottom from a birds eye view?
