Welcome to the official April Wilkerson UA-cam channel. I’m April and I’m the creator of Wilker Do’s. I'm not professional or have any training, so I just pick the project I want to tackle and figure it out step by step. On this channel you will find a variety of content like DIY home improvement, How-To’s, construction and more.
One request I have, I wish you would have illustrated building the door a little more detail
Absolutely beautiful! I'll be building this for my wife soon and was curious if you had any issues with the wood scorching or burning? Has it held up well so far?
I didn't see any where in the plans regarding the placement of the switch.
The plans that I received have two 2 x 4's mounted upright around the where the panel goes but it is not that way in the video. Am I missing something?
Great skill set and quality work as always. Great project.
Thank you for your support!
At 7:24, I did a search for "construction magnets with hole" but you might want to leave a link to the magnets you used in the description. Love the video.
Nice build April. A great idea and it turned out very beautiful! The design software seems like it would be a big help. Thanks for sharing with us! Keep on building!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.

😂
Awesome Fire Table April! However, I will probably wait until next spring to build one. I'm very busy in the fall harvesting soybeans and corn on my farm. I'm glad you included links for the Fire Pan Kit and Horizontal Propane Tank, since I will need those when I build one. What are the over all dimensions for both of your Fire Table Plans? I might have missed it but I don't think you mentioned it in this video, and I don't see the dimensions on your website plan's either. Great Video! Enjoy your fall evenings relaxing by a peaceful fire April!
Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you! I forgot to mention the dimensions. They're now on my website with the plans. The large fire table is 39.5"x39.5" and the small fire table is 30"x30". Hope this helps!
@@AprilWilkerson Yes, this helps. Thanks! I do like to keep busy. I guess we have that in common April! Right? 😁
April, love your work and happy for the success your hard work is bringing you.
I was a bit puzzled to see you use a battery powered cutoff saw in a shop so we'll equipped.
Nice build April, as always love your videos. 😊😊👍👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoy my channel. Thanks for watching.
LOVE this design, April! I'll be revisiting this next spring possibly, when I get back to working on the deck. I'd probably modify it into a more rectangular layout though.
thank you! A rectangular layout sounds great!
I think it would have made sense to to put a platform inside for the tank. With wheels, I can see this shifting around and banging into the tank, especially by guests who might want to just move it a little closer, move it aside as some passes, etc. Also, as the design stands, when you do want to move, you have to go under and disconnect the tank, move, move tank, and reconnect. One other thought was that the inner frame seems like it would benefit from some upright members, rather than relying on just the plywood.
Very nice build - thanks for sharing. One question, for climates subject to a lot of rain and snow, should the interior bare lumber be seal-coated/weather proofed?
I like it! Thanks for showing bloopers at the end. That shows us that you have frustrations in your builds, even though we don’t usually know. Also, it makes you seem more down to earth, and therefore approachable in public.
Yes, I certainly make mistakes as we all do. Thanks for watching.
@@AprilWilkerson also hope to see you working with Tim and Richard in the future. You seem to really be enjoying yourself with the big equipment and you definitely make them look good.
Great idea, excellent and simple design. Love your workshop
Thank you!
I am having a real issue with the magnets in the doors it doesn't matter how many magnets or how strong they are the door just doesn't seem to stay are there any alternatives
Dear April. Your charm is stunning. And thank you for the magical hand gesture.
Do you have a link for the magnets you used? Thank you!
What kind of pan did you use to hold the rocks and burner it doesn't come work the kit
was that fire glass? Looked like normal aquarium glass? Im building a fire table, but getting fire glass is hard here, but i have 100 pounds of glass aquarium stones i use in other decorative projects id like to use, but i believe its not safe (unless i like exploding glass)
it's fire glass :) I went ahead and linked it in the video description. I got it off of amazon.
The magnet idea is great. Not sure I'd build fire furniture out of wood though.
For youtubers, research whether propane leaves soot on fireglass.... I believe fireglass works best with natural gas. I have fire stones instead of glass, the soot is significant. Also, a glass fence around the fire makes it pop.
April, thanks for the video, the result looks great.
If you are getting soot on glass with your propane then you need to research and add an air mixer. Problem solved.
Good morning, April! I love this project! Just in time for Autumn and the cooler weather. I'd rather be warm all year round but, that's asking a lot of New England! Have a GREAT day!
Thank you! I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching.
Very cool! I can definitely dig this Fire Pit Table. Your excitement when you got it to work, priceless🤙🏾💯
Thanks!
@@AprilWilkerson you’re welcome..and thank you for sharing your awesome projects wit us! You’re appreciated❤
Love it. Now design a diffuser to disperse the heat out more sideways. Make it out of corten steel. I subscribed.
That was a nice idea !!! Greetings from Belgium April 👍👍👍
Thanks! Glad you liked it. Greetings from Texas!
really enjoyed this video april!
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
Looks nice but a quick glance at the burner manual will tell you there is a 48" clearance around it to combustibles. So your wood top will dry out and become a fire hazard. Be careful when messing with fire and DIY products in videos people.
my thoughts exactly
Have you had any sloot build up?
What a beautiful fire pit!!!! ❤How very, very cool April,
Thanks! I just love how it turned out. Thanks for watching.
Question. I saw that you have the SawStop Floating Overarm Dust Collection unit. It is understandable that you wouldn't use it while pushing lumber through while the operation is being videoed; however, there was a lot of sawdust on the table saw. So my question is, do you ever use it? Trying to decide on what overarm unit to get - if any at all. BTW, I am the one Laura Kampf asked to take a picture of you, her and Andy Birkey at the Bay Area Makers Faire. Thanks.
I love your design for this fire table. Thank you.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Very nice but I also have the concern of others. The wood could dry out and eventually burn. That would be a waste of materials and work.
How does it work regarding the very hot tray on wood? A combustible material?
Looks great 👍 I love that design! Another great project!!
Thanks! Glad you like it.
When you put the door on with the magnetic fasteners I shouted "Awesome!!" about 5 seconds before you did! LOL.... Great minds and all that!
Hi April - where do I find the plans for this? GORGEOUS!
Salam: good table : my husband wood works
Thanks for watching!
Great design. Definitely going to make this.
Awesome! Thanks for watching.
Really a neat project April, turned out nice and will be a perfect center gathering point on these wonderful fall evenings. Thanks for sharing, you all did a great job. Fred.
Thanks so much!
Love this, April. Do you have an approximate cost of this project?
Really nice design and build April! 👊👏
Glad you like it!
Once again you stun me with a gorgeous project. Thank you.👍❤️
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoy my channel. Thanks for watching.
ka BOOOM! As long as no one got hurt, that would be kind of funny.
The crevices will be a hassle to clean, but other than that looks good.
It sure is pretty. Does it keep you warm?
Thank you! It gives off nice warmth.
Excelente mueble muy precioso pura elegancia y super bien hecho al 100%
Muchas gracias!
Excellent table. The video as well. Paced quick and no nonsense.
Glad you liked it!
🤗👍😎 GREAT JOB APRIL, JUST WHAT THE FIRE MARSHAL ORDERED 😁💚💚💚
Thank you! Glad you like it!
@@AprilWilkerson 🤗👍 what I like even more is your shop and tools which as we both know make the job is easy as it looks😁💚💚💚
Great design and project April. I love all of your wood projects.😊
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoy my channel. Thanks for watching.
I see that you don't like safety glasses 🤔.
I do love these DIY videos, but being from the UK, I am sat here wondering if every DIY American has a workshop the size of the average English home😂.
Btw, that is such a brautiful finished product, so nice❤
No, many just work from a portion of their garage. If you want to make something, you get creative. Everyone's situation and locality is different. Thanks for watching.
Oh my goodness am I so very thankful for your recommendation of the new modeling software! I have been building projects for more than 15 years. Always stuff straight from my head to the shop, which of course was complicated and so very time consuming as I never had an actual plan on paper. I tried Sketch Up several times and for whatever reason it just wasn't working for me. This new one, however...game changer. The moment I watched the video and saw your suggestion for the Make By Me software I was hooked. Jumped right on it, easy as can be and modeled a firewood rack I've been wanting to build for years. The breakdown of materials needed and cut list is going to absolutely change my building life. I can't thank you enough April. Love it! And of course love all the things you build ❤
Do you still sell the hand grenade stool?
Fantastic one as always April. Big shout out from Carrickfergus . Northern Ireland
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Big shout out from Texas!
I've noticed this from multiple maker videos i watched, but why do you make multiple passes with the chop saw instead of just one swooping chop? I'm assuming it's something to do with the sliding action? My saw doesn't have the sliding feature, just a 12" compound miter saw
Shallower passes will produce a smoother cut, no tear out, and less strain on the saw motor.
Can you leave a link for those magnets?
🤣FYI nothing that is made in a shop is DIY!
That is incorrect. DIY means Do It Yourself, meaning you are not outsourcing a contractor to do it for you or buying it ready made. My projects can always be done with simpler tools, it would just take longer, but can be done. Thanks for watching.
c est superbe April félicitation Patrick
Thank you!
I am building this, however a bit confused. My burner controls has an "L" shaped plate, where yours is flat held with 4 screws! Am I missing something. Also in the plans the magnets do not go in the ends of the frame, but into some framing material that has to be added. Am I correct in this? Thanks, Bill
Same questions. The door assembly in the video and in the plans isn’t the same, and doesn’t show enough detail.
I heard that!
Ac is off for the rest of the year! ❤
Hey! You are amazing btw! I already have a wooden table. I got the kit and just need to cut a rectangle into the table and drop it in. I see yours is wood as well. Is it safe to have wood? Thanks!
Yes, I address that in the video. it does not get hot in the surrounding wood. Thanks for watching.
Can you tell me how this held up?? I’m thinking of doing something similar but I’m nervous to make the table wood with the fire table
So far it works great! No problems at all. Thanks for watching.
I watched some parts of this beautiful project all these days on FB, and now this video seems familiar but it was great to watch it all. Thanks April it's great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
There’s no information about actually hooking up the fire kit. That’s disappointing.
That part is in the instructions of the fire kit and not actually part of the build. Thanks for watching.
The magnetic panel was sweet.
Glad you like it!
Great build, Question on no heat shield. Does you wood get hot? I'm planning on putting one i a outdoor farm table. Just wanted to know how hot the wood gets.
Some were resting their feet on the wood and it was not hot. Thanks for watching.
I really like the chairs. What are they.
Another great video, but I’ve got to ask a random question, where did u get ur awesome necklace from please as I’ve always wondered x
I had the necklace custom made as the ax is the first tool I learned to use. Thanks for watching.
Great job … very nice
I appreciate it!
What’s the total cost of this project?
Wow you are super talented
Thank you very much!
Mrs.April what is that name of the tape measurer you were using black and green;
It's the Crescent Lufkin Shockforce with Night Eye. It's a great tape measure and is easy to read. Thanks for watching.
I built your first pit 9:41 9:43
Awesome! Thanks for Sharing and for watching.
As always April great build ! I think you are amazing .... have you thought of making a murphy bed? I'm kind of in the middle of mine and I'm utilizing a hoist that I saw on one of my other favorite channels. Actually there's a few plans and ideas I've been tossing around, but I finally got stumped as I need a man to help me lift this thing. Anyway it's been an interesting ride along with you and your channel you truly are an inspiration and in a league of your own !!! good job !!!
I actually made a Murphy Bed previously, check out my channel. I hope you find it useful. Thanks for watching.
Very good!😊👏👏👏🌷😘
thanks a bunch!
This is awesome. Your excitement when first lighting the ring is certainly inspiring!😊
That is amazing! You don't happen to have a used table saw you want to sell cheap do you? Mine's motor flew all to pieces this week.
And replacement parts are obsolete on it.
What are the finished sizes of the large and small tables? I didn’t see a size in the description of either plan.
I went back in and added the dimensions. For the large fire table: 39.5"x39.5" and the small fire table: 30"x30".
Your videos stopped showing up in my feed for a while! Glad to be back. Love your work!
Glad they started popping up again! Thank you!
Great project April!!!
Thank you so much!
April this turned out very unique and very nice design. Hopefully you enjoy it for many years to come my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making. God bless.
Thanks so much!

Spectacular as ever.
Thank you!
Great idea, one-of-a-kind fireplace 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks! Glad you like it.
Literally “throw the top on” - made me lol
Yep! No other way to really do it. Thanks for watching.
When did black tape measures become a thing.? I always thought that they where yellow at least all of the ones that I have are.
Crescent Tools makes them and I actually love the black background. :)
@@AprilWilkerson I guess that I'm just old school cause well I'm old.
Awesome . I do plenty of outdoor furniture but that's nice .
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Love this!

Looks amazing April, great design! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks so much!
What is the brand and model of the burner?
Under the video description, click See More and scroll down. I left a Link to the fire plan kit and also one for the fire glass. Thanks for watching.
Love it with the rocks in that shade of blue!! So pretty!!
Thanks! Yes, I think the blue really tops it off nicely. Thanks for watching.
Great ideas in this project. Thanks for posting - thumbs up!
