I'm a Londoner but I don't live in London anymore. This lady knows so much about my home city that it's amazing what she does know. Thank you so much for your wonderfully informative videos!
Never miss a Love and London video, I have learned so much from the channel ! I want to say after seeing Ellie for whom I had taken her tour in December 2022, it was a very memorable and well done trip to the East End with such a different approach to talking about and honoring the victims and not the murderer this time. Highly recommend this tour as Ellie was terrific.
Moved to London several years ago. Love to see these, and wish I knew of you before I moved. But even so, I get to re-experience discovery of some old favourites through your videos, and even better, there are some new gems that you introduce. Thank you!
I just discovered this girl and her channel, I've been trying to find old places, churches, cemeteries and all the information hidden in the past of this great city, as a foreigner myself, I've been discovering how intriguing, enchanting, and in some cases "spooky", some of the old places can be (High Gate cemetery, Brompton Cemetery), I have been learning a lot about the rich English past, but I need some information in how to discover all those magnificent places, as some of them are very hidden and it's been not too long since I have the time to enjoy the privilege of learning about the English past....... it would be most appreciated if you could give me some hints on "where and how" to find these places. thanks a lot.
I liked how you had the Watchhouse coffee shop. I loved walking in that park every morning when I was in London. I stayed in Bermondsey Square Hotel and will be back there in August. I will definitely be strolling around the park again to walk off my breakfast every morning.
I went to London for the first time this year and what i loved about this big City is that when you arrive and walk by the streets there is sightseeing everywhere. Also i was leaving in Bloomsbury
One of my favourite memoirs to history in South London are the fences around some housing estates being made from WWII stretchers, placed end to end. There was quite a large stockpile of stretchers after the blitz and many fences had been lost; recycling the stretchers in the “make do and mend” era neatly killed two birds with one stone.
Great video thanks! London is my favorite city in the world and have visited 7 or 8 times, and am fortunate to have friends who live there. I’m a big fan of the Dennis Severs House on Folgate Street, in Spitalfields. Love finding new spots.
I really enjoyed St. Dunstan's and Postman's Park. If the city seems too busy or even a tad overwhelming, you can certainly relax and focus well there.
This is a crazy coincidence but I just came across your channel yesterday and I just saw you getting off the northern line at Camden, was too shy to say hi but love your content!
Goodness gracious me, I just visited London in late Oct. 2022. That was on my first international solo trip since the pandemic began, and my organization has a London site. Love and London played a huge role in persuading me to give London a go, and loved all of the guides you made, and it was a proper hit within my personal travel community. But since I visited London for the first time to both re-acclimate myself to the new normal of international transatlantic travel, and also because I work for the CEO so London Business trips could become a regular thing. My trip seems to have reinvigorated London as a PTO vacation destination, since more than half of my team revisited London since the new year began, after I shared a few tidbits and recommendations, and this video reminded me that I've got to go back not on business again to stop by all the highlights and tours featured in this video that I apparently missed!!!
So glad you went to Postman's Park, more people need to know about this quiet little oasis and the wonderful Wall Of Heroes. Crown Passage in St James' is also an excellent hidden place to visit.
@@loveandlondon I meant to comment on how reassuring it is to see that the Wall is still being updated, obviously the reasons are sad, but heartwarming that monuments like this aren't just being forgotten.
I think i've spotted postman's park in the movie called "Closer", starring Jude Law, Clive Owen, Natalie Portman and Julia Roberts. In the begining of the movie, After Natalie Portman is hit by a car and jude Law escorts her to the hospital they take a walk and get to know each other and I think they end up in this very park. The tiles with the names on them remind me of this. Strange, yet beautiful that i remembered that.
I see it's cold in London as well eh? Here in the San Francisco Bay Area it was in the 50s with a lot of clouds and wind! it started to rain just as I got home. 🙂
Love seeing the east end. Stayed close to boxpark on my recent trip. Thank you for the history lesson and not making me hungry for delicious food, Jess!
Hey! I was wondering if you had any tips for people traveling to London during the public transport strike? My trip to London falls exactly on the days of the strike and I am concerned about getting around the town as the tube/rail (and some busses?) will be shut down. Gathering information about similar strikes in the past I am thinking that the smartest move would be to cancel the trip entirely, which is devestating, ngl.
@Love and London thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I'm staying outside of the centre so I can't outright avoid public transport, but I think I will take a chance and see what happens. At the very least it will be an experience to talk about later :) Thanks for the tips!
If you recorded this a day or so ago I was atuly there I was in the city of London checking out St Paul's cathedral and the Tower of London. Couldn't get into the sky Gardens tho

Thank you for leading with St Dunstan in the East it was one of my favourite hide away picnic spots when I lived in London - truly magical

I remember seeing Postman's Park in the movie Closer, I knew it looked familiar
Thanks for reminding me how brilliant it is to live in the Uk and in this case in London. it takes an American to do this.
haha usually the commenters are like WHY IS AN AMERICAN SAYING THIS so your kid comment was a breathe of fresh air, thank you!
I've seen a film about Noor, worth a watch, a very brave woman. You can turn every corner in London and it has the Wow facror, has History everywhere.
Oh amazing, do you remember what it was called? Thanks for watching!

No no don't cancel. Just plan your visit where you can avoid transport as much as possible. Walking, taxi and bike/scooters all still available.
