One thing I feel I can add for people wanting to try end game raiding: 1. If you are just starting out, do not join "Farm" parties. These are for people who know the fight well and are trying to kill the boss as fast as they can, as many times as they can. 2. Do not hesitate to ask questions. As someone who's cleared all the current Savage fights and is working on Ultimates. I still ask a ton of questions about mechanics, fights, or even my class. 3. There can always be jerks, but the vast majority of players that love raiding want everyone to love it and are willing to help you.
I’ve noticed so far that #3 applies to pretty much every aspect of ff14. There will always be some jerks and trolls, but 90% of the time people just want more people running whatever content they love, and teaching and helping others is the best way to achieve that.
I cleared TEA without VC, it's definitely possible. Use macros for last phase for random mechanics, it's tiring but damn the feeling when you cleared the fight. Savage is nothing compared to these fights. The main hurdle is always trying to avoid miss for the whole fight which is around 17 minutes avg for everyone in the party. Concentration, stamina, mental.
6.1 unreal : ultima is from ARR, not heavensward ;) also tbh most ex/savage can be cleared without vc if everybody knows what to do, though it does help a lot yea as for difficulty, ex are definitely easier than savage. savage needs more party coordination as a single error in savage can wipe the group or quickly snowball into a wipe.
Hi, I'm a wow player, been watching guides and stuff about ff14, but i still have a questions 1 - Dose ultimate raids drop the highest gear in the game ? or they are just considered a challenge for those who wants to test their skill ? if not, is savage raids are the only way to get the best gear ? 2 - Cosmetics, is it possible to get all the cosmetics in the game as lets say raiding only players or pvp only players, or do i have to do many different activities to aquire cosmetics ? also is it possible to go back to older raids and farm cosmetics on lets say savage dificulty ? or i sill need party for this ?
So question...when do you suggest taking on some of these endgame content solo. I just finished a realm reborn a week ago and now working my way to heavensward.. I have 3 jobs i mess around with.. a white mage lv 80 from the shop... and I'm doing red mage and black mage as I move around with the story with both as of now lv 60.
Some are doable when you are 10 levels above but for the most of them you have to be at least 20, plus recommended to be at max ilvl of your level. Just for an example of one that requires really high level, I did Second Coil of Bahamut Turn 4 which is level 50 raid at level 80 solo as dragoon with 530 ilvl and I just barely managed. To beat it you have to have enough health to tank group mechanics and extremely high burst to kill a certain minion before it merges with another and then still have enough burst damage left to kill the boss before she reaches mechanic that instakills solo players.
For extremes/unreal you don’t need to overmeld. Just learn your rotation and is enough even bad parse is enough for extremes, in savage is a different story.
Noone in our static has overmeld gear and we completed P3S last month and have since done weekly reclears without much issue. Just ensure your gear has the best available materia for each slot according to your class and you're set for extremes.
I wouldnt Rank Unreal even close to Extreme Trials....because that is what they literally are. 95% of the fight is 1:1 the same they were back when they released but now just pumped up in HP to fit for current Levelcap. And since there so old Guides exists for a long time. Also if your playing long enough you still have a basic understanding of the Fight. We did Ultima Unreal on Release and killed him first Try just jecause all of his Mechanics are still really present till today.
Unreal trials = Extreme trials Because they are old trials with same mechs, but with min ilvl equal in current lvl max expansion So as long as you read guide or already cleared the fight before when still relevant, then it will be fine enough
If you want to do it its definitely doable! My friends and I managed to clear the first part of uwu which is Garuda in a few weeks in party finder. If you can manage to get a static im sure you could clear the first part faster than that. Its just memorizing patterns one baby step at a time!
Tysm! I could never find a comprehensive breakdown while working my way up to catching up to content
aww so glad to hear that! Exactly what I wanted to achieve

True endgame is finding that one unique good looking glamour no1 else is using
The true endgame is going back and doing all the random side things I forgot to do in previous expansions

Very nice breakdown! Short and accurate. I saw my name! Happy to be part of the cool kids! (Zook)
Glad to have you and thank you again for the support! 💜
Thank you for breaking all of this down!!

Great content, as per usual, Stefan.
Thank you hayden!

@@Laerei thanks for the reply. I'll keep at it then.. hopefully I can finally finish some of these extreme quest..
Is it required to overmeld for extreme trials? I know you need to for savage content but just curious if the same goes for extreme trials.
For extremes/unreal you don’t need to overmeld. Just learn your rotation and is enough even bad parse is enough for extremes, in savage is a different story.
Current extreme trials it doesn’t hurt but like as long as your over the item level requirements you’ll be okay
You don't need to overmeld/pentameld gears in extreme trials, since the dps check is generous, unlike Savage week 1

Soooo ultimate probably isn't happening
Yeeee I mean with some practice :) lots and lots of practice
