      Sorry too hear that. The egr delete is mostly done in states that don't have emissions. I live in florida. They don't have emissions here.

    Is this the fuel injection carb z24i

    • @almagam2099
      @almagam2099  Рік тому +1

      Yes. At this point she still had the fuel injected throttle body. I've since installed a Weber carburetor.

      @@samwhite1345 yes. When I was first removing the throttle body, most of it's components were very brittle. Parts were crumbling apart as I was removing them.
      It was the same with all the emissions stuff. The Weber helped do away with all that. Plus it helped open up the engine up a bit. I'm not winning any races, but at least now...she's only slow. And not slow as molasses. 😆

  • @MrWoodyda2nd

    Yeah i did the same thing with the vac hoses. I just traced where they went and if it was non essential i capped or removed. And some rust did some removing of components for me as well. i took about 20 feet of vac lines out that were just going nowhere but back on themselves lmao. Truck runs great now besides a bad fuel injector that I'm about to replace. Oh and lifters are noisy I might go in and adjust the lash. Eventually I want to get a standalone fuel injection 2 or 4 barrel system and build an intake for it. Or if i get a chance just swap a 2.3 ecoboost in it.

    • @almagam2099
      @almagam2099  Рік тому

      Sorry. I don't remember what car I got the hose from. This was a few years back. The filter I'd gotten from auto parts store. Don't recall the size. I've since removed the throttle body and installed a Weber carburetor. So the setup isn't the same anymore!

    Nice video mate. Does this affect the idle ? Like higher revs at idle? Should this give better gas mileage?

    • @almagam2099
      @almagam2099  2 роки тому +1

      I honestly don't remember! It's been a long while since I deleted the vacume hoses! I want to say the Idle did improve! It used too surge up and down at idle, but would normalize when accelerating!
      I can def say installing NGK wires, NGK ignition coils and iridium spark plugs greatly improved overall performance and especially gas mileage! I think the truck used to get around 16 miles to the gallon or less?!...after the ignition upgrades, it jumped up to between 27-30 miles to the gallon?!!

    That's exactly what happens the manufacturer put it there for a reason. Example if everything he took off. Cust 100.00 dollar and Nissan made one million trucks would they spend 100.00 million dollars if if the truck didn't need it. Well that's what they told me at Nissan school.

      Thank you. I thought I could run my '87 Pathfinder without all that vacuum hose. I tried pulling them off which ran bad. Looks like capping the ports is the important thing. Big difference in '86 to '87 motor types, or there's a chance mine may be a "90s motor.

    • @almagam2099
      @almagam2099  5 років тому

      Yeah I learn't the hard way there's a big difference between the 80's and 90's motors! I'd started removing hoses on my 93 Nissan (big mistake)! It's fuel injected whereas the 86 is carburated! I had to put all the hoses back!

      Thankfully, she's still running good! I actually had found a forum where they went into great detail about removing all the nonessential Vac Hoses! It was incredibly helpful! I'll try and find it again and I'll post a link to it here!
      I still need to look for or somehow fabricate a smaller air-box as the stock one has a port at the bottom for a vacuum hose that I removed! I'm not sure, but I think that open port would have the same effect as a vacuum leak?! also that air intake hose I added to the air-box isn't air tight! It's on there very snug, but it's essentially another spot with a vacuum leak! Other than that, removing all those Vac hoses really improved the overall performance of the truck, plus I also did your basic tune-up! The only thing I haven't done, is replace the old spark plug wires!

      @almagam2099  5 років тому +1

      Is and isn't! On this particular model "carbureted engine" most if not all the vacume hoses are obsolete! The main reason I did it, was when I got it from the previous owner, pretty much everything the hoses connected too, were in really bad shape and crumbling too the touch! After a bit of research I found a forum on the subject for my year, make and model truck! I've tried searching for that exact forum as it was incredibly helpful and detailed with photos and explanations on the entire process! But no such luck!

But, if the video can't identify a(Air cleaner canister) EGRs, the thing that was there now on the ground how can I know makes sense of what I'm removing or not ? I came to the site for info! On deleting ?? That thing on the ground that you took off the drivers side looks like a Brake Vacuum? Is it smog ? And that hose U removed but put back on because it ran bad?A lot of mis informed & I'm already that.

    • @labowskidude
      @labowskidude 3 роки тому

      The round one is a valve that takes exhaust and puts it into throttle body for some reason. I saw the anti backfire thingy that usually sets on a mount with it in the dirt. the tall black one you capped off is a canister of charcoal that's not "needed" also has a filter in the bottom should be serviced 15k miles wasn't in the manual. it will leak on stuff I have heard.
