      Pocket 3 is amazing you don't need to shoot blind to get good quality like you do with iphone or any phone and the focal length on the pocket 3 is much better than iphone and android phones. I know iphone and android phones have a wide angle lens but then the quality is gone. So osmo pocket 3 wins there.

      @@CBikesss Shoot blind? How is the focal length on the Pocket better than any smartphone? Every smartphone does 20mm and a ton more lol. Most go 13mm-200mm or more. Way better than the Pocket stuck at 20mm with no aperture control.

    Great video! Would love to see more low-light footage comparisons, especially in motion. I believe that's where Pocket 3 can outshine the iPhone.

  • @RoyLie9

    For lowlight shots when making video (not vlogging) iPhone creates flares, the 15 is getting better but still creates flares.
    Thus makes the DJI OP3 a much better option for lowlight.

    • @BlairAir
      @BlairAir 11 місяців тому +1

      OP3 has issue with flares. Perhaps not under same conditions, and I cannot fairly compare to iPhone 13/14/15 Pro or Pro Max because I am a Samsung phone guy for 14 years (I have iPhone for work, currently 14 Pro, but don't create wirh it. Point being I feel like Pocket 3 is less with invasive lens flaring, but far from immune to it. In some scenarios, it is similar, and possibly worse. I say possibly, just putting it out there. I have only anecdotal evidence of this

    • @CBikesss
      @CBikesss 11 місяців тому

      It does create flares horrible

    • @CBikesss
      @CBikesss 11 місяців тому +2

      @@BlairAirreally is not as bad as iPhone. The p3 is definitely much much better with flares and focal length much better too. Other than iPhone and androids having multiple lenses i was talking about the main camera because its the best quality most people are gonna use.

    If i were a vlogger who talks to the camera most of the time, my pick would be op3. Nice bokeh due to the 1 inch sensor, sleek form factor and super easy to use. Vlogging with a phone is tedious in comparison.

      I don’t know 😂 I saw the Full-time Filmmaker Comparison against the DJI 4D. The Pocket 3 is something that can’t be slept on.
      I’m from the same mindset, my phone is my phone… once I as a Creator s😢reach for my phone, I’m thinking, what about external audio, what if I need to long track a subject… I feel the content, correct if I need to grab something quick, but the Pocket is right there also - no opening Camera App, dialing in settings, locking up calls in the meantime. The iPhone has come a long way though.

    Having an Apple Watch to use as a remote view of the camera app is great, and the footage looks good, but I still opted for the Pocket 3. I don’t like the idea of relying on my phone for footage in addition to everything else it does. Having a pocket gimbal camera is amazing, and it’s hella fast to turn on and record.

    • @CBikesss
      @CBikesss 11 місяців тому

      Controlling the iphone with an apple watch is like having a dji mic 2 for osmo pocket 3. DJI mic 2 is more beneficial because it is a mic obviously.
      Second part. Yeah dont like relying on my phone either because my phone is always full plus i need my phone for other things like calls and text
      And yes the camera is very fast to turn on. Something any phone is not even close to.
      Lastly - one thing i really like on the osmo pocket 3 is you can see yourself on screen while shooting in selfie mode and with good quality. On the Iphone you cannot see yourself on the screen if you want good quality. Because you basically have to shoot blind to get good quality. Because you have to shoot with the main camera.

    Another benefit of using the iphone is if you want to use filters, since aperature is fixed, most iphone filter systems use regular filters so u can stack something like VND and Diffusion vs the pocket 3 where u can only use one at a time

    Testing low light without moving the camera at all seems weird. People move when shooting most times. The low light quality with the mechanical gimbal compared to digital stabilization is so much better. I own both of these and love both but at night, there is no comparison.

      I'd use the Hohem iSteady M6 with the new iPhone 15 Pro max...problem solved.
      It's a great gimbal but heavier to carry (with phone) compared to the Pocket 3. A gimbal is something I wouldn't be using that often, mostly for follow me mode.
      I really don't care much for everything filmed using a gimbal, I think they can be overused and lack a bit of character in the video...I'm happy with a little inbuilt stabilisation for the most part.

    For me a great selling point for the pocket 3 is that gimbal and tracking. I've used the dji mobile gimbals in the past but it's a bit complicated to carry around and not so fast to whip out and shoot anytime. Also the mobile gimbal is usually not with me.
    Second big thing is that DJI pocket 3 can shoot 50 and 100fps which the iphone can not. I live in PAL area so making slowmo indoors is much easier with the DJI.

    • @michaelbell75
      @michaelbell75 9 місяців тому

      @@TJIzzy This. Shallow DOF isnt just about the size of the sensor, the focal length plays a big part too. So a shot at 50mm on a slightly smaller sensor with around the same aperture is going to have a more shallow DOF than one at 20mm and that will only increase as the focal length gets longer.

A vlog camera, thats it. iPhone has way more lenses, better DOF and focal lengths, much better colors and ProRes is WAY better quality than anything the Pocket, which is limited to only 130mbs bitrate, can shoot.Maybe if they released a version with a 50mm or even 35mm, Id have a look.

    No smartphone gives you the image quality of OP3, at least the quality that you have in 10 bit d-log (the standard profile 8 bit is rather bad, in my opinion). The fact of having this quality with a 1-inch sensor at low light, without those horrible artifacts from electronic stabilization, I would say is enough for the choice compared to any smartphone, including iPhone 15 Pro (which has excellent video quality, maybe better, but only if used a very huge file of prores log with external SSD, and still continues to be rather poor in low light)
