Rodgers to Cobb will never get old still gives me chills every time i watch it ....Rodgers first game back from injury in Chicago had to win and on the 4th down it was just perfect as a Packers fan
and then Love did the one thing you're not supposed to do and threw the ball late across his chest to a spot on the field where there were no receivers even close.
So you traded the Porsche Carrera GT for a brand new Mazda MX-5 and just can't stop talking about the new car smell. And no, it will never be even close to the thing you let slip away.
Fun story about this game. My girlfriend's family (packer superfans) was returning from a trip out of state during this game and had no access to watch or listen. So I was texting play-by-play updates to my gf's brother for almost the entirety of the second half. When "4th and 8" happened, I called them and explained what happened. My gf's dad in a moment of elation told me I could marry his daughter as a result of everything that transpired. We've been married for 8 years.
It’s crazy, the bears had a top 3 offense this year and they were a playoff caliber team the year before. It’s crazy how quickly the bears fell into obscurity after this season. 4 straight years of mediocrity or bottom of the barrel. In a way Rodger’s dagger on 4th and 8 was the end of an era for the bears. 3 years later and the team had almost no players from this season, different coaches, different philosophy. That 2010-2013 bears team was fun
ive said this for the past 10 years, this game changed the fucking franchise. if bears win this, that defense stays and Cutler actually gives a shit again. what a horrible horrible moment in time.
@JroRotMG same thing happened to the Packers against Philadelphia 4th quarter Eagles 4th down and 24, Pack ahead. They make it an win and totally changed the franchise from our awesome radio announcers to the entire team. Crazy how things can hinge on essentially 1 play..
No matter how good we are. When we play GB, someone will be open 40 yards up the middle on 3rd and 15. It's like I've been watching the same game with the same throws since my childhood.

Shows you how much the game has evolved in just 10 years - it’s insane that they kicked an extra point instead of going for 2 after that touchdown to make it 26-28. Today, there’s not a coach in the league that would do that
Unless you never expect to see the ball again with over 11 minutes left (unlikely) , you go for 1 point there. If you are unsuccessful in the 2 point try and the come down and get 7... it's game over at that point. Going for one makes it now way the Bears can make it a 2 score game on after their possession. But yes... had it been much later in the 4th that the Bears could possibly bleed the rest of the clock, you have to play like it's your last possession and go for 2.
@@richardcypherrahlno, you always take your PAT. If the Bears force a turnover and return it for 2 pts, ruins any chance GB has to kick a FG to win it, if it were to come down to that. Not to mention... There's 11 min in the game at that time. There's no need to do that.
@@platinummc01 eh, I don't subscribe to that idea. You're out there to beat or tie the other team within sixty minutes. Put the ball in your offense's hands and tie the score. There's very little potential upside to intentionally continuing to trail on the scoreboard once you've had an opportunity to tie.
Maybe they did. But Cutler was a 'Gunslinger'. You know what gunslingers do, they throw interceptions against good teams. That is why Favre won ONE Super Bowl, and the kick returner was the MVP>

@@why-even-try-brotendoabsolutely. Two long TD passes, a TD run, and I think no picks. Also, the MVP “kick returner” caught one of those long TD passes on the Packers second play.
Not to defend Mike McCarthy, but I’m guessing it’s because if you miss the 2 and give up another TD you’re now down 9. You kick the extra point and if they score a TD you are still only down 8. Now, they definitely should have gone for 2, but I’m guessing that was the thought process
Since Favre became the full-time starter in 1992, the Bears are now 15-50 against the Packers. Put the history between these two teams aside for a moment. At this point, this is not a rivalry. It's pretty much an annual beatdown.

Going for the extra point was 100% the right call, with 11:30 left in the game. If we failed to get that 2 point conversion, and the Bears go down and get 7 (putting us down 9 points), they will have made it a two possession game late in the 4th...game over. We made sure the Bears couldn't essentially end the game with a touchdown. Great call. Not everyone will understand that Coach was just thinking ahead.
I still think it's the wrong call. Better having the chance to tie up the game and being at 1 FG regardless than needing another successful possession but I get your point.
Wrong call. You don't play expecting the other team to score another TD. you play to win the game. Go for the Tie now. Don't kick the can down the road. Down by a point is still losing. A FG at that point wins it either way even if you miss the 2 point conversion.
@christophersandquist1092 I feel like you're contradicting yourself when you say "play to win"... and you're wanting GB to tie the game. Mind you, it's almost 12 minutes left I'm the game. They weren't going to win the game on that possession. Too much time left to start taking risks. I would be with you if I never expected the Packers to see the ball again. You also have to take into account that the Packers were having a tough time getting stops.
I didn't watch the whole game only this quarter. So if that's the case that definitely would change it and make sense. Just would suck for GB if bears didn't score and stop the packers from even a field goal then win by 1 point.
I never realized how important the drops by the Bears WRs were. Marshall and Jeffery really let the team down when Cutler really put them in fantastic situations to succeed.
For those curious, this is the year the Packers started 6-2, when Rodgers went down with a broken left collar bone. It was hoped he would miss little time, but he was out 7 weeks. The Packers went 0-4-1 in their next five games. In the playoffs the Packers hosted the 49ers in a very cold game, and played well, but lost when the 49ers kicked a late FG. SF was 12-4 that year, and lost to Seattle in the NFC championship.

Good to see the former owner of the Bears get this dub knowing that a new owner is in town for a long time
My grandfather is the epitome of sweet old man. Literally seen him get angry two times in my life. He is a retired history teacher always has a smile on his face. This game made him scream obscenities in front of our entire family while we were having a “post Xmas” cocktail party. It was this game and when the bulls lost to Lebron on Father’s Day in one of the playoffs where he lost his cool. We love and hate being fans of Chicago teams😔
The 4th and 1 conversion by Kuhn is so interesting. Rodgers with 3 seconds on the play clock telling the tight end to get on the line of scrimmage and still getting the play off. And then 3-4 Bears running to the sideline thinking they stopped Kuhn.
As a bears fan, can we please just not show this play every single year during the last week of the season? Just for one year
I can relate. As a Kentucky Wildcat fan we see the Duke replay every March Madness, multiple times
1st packer nation please simply appreciate Rodgers ability and great memories that said Jets are finding out the drama king done his last 3 yrs soo sad
Rodgers is the best regular season qb. Playoffs, well thats another story
Arron Rodgers was a good quarterback we have to wait and see what the future holds. Ijs
I remember seeing the game winning TD live on a cruise. It was crazy.
Eddie Lacy before he ate himself out of the league. 😂
Right!! I remember I had such high hopes for Lacy. Man, he was such a disappointment.
I loved chanting "Cutler! Cutler!" during all the Bear losses to the Packers.
The power went out around 4:00 left when I was watching this game, we were frantically trying to get the power back on, then i remembered an old hand held crank radio, that my grandfather gave me, by the time I got it working and the game on, the first play we heard was “RODGERS FLOATS IT, COBB!!! TOUCHDOWN RANDALL COBB”. An absolute core memory that I will never forget
❤
🎉 yeah it was great. I remember that. Thank you for the memories and thank you for the legends.
Imagine this happens again, Love to Dobbs for a last second touchdown at midfield 4th and 8
RODGERS OWNS CHICAGO
He doinked it off that Bears guys chest to his WR. Un fricken believable.
Rodger was right, it’s not a rivalry anymore
golden age of the NFL
1970s is the golden age of the NFL
the good old days. best qb ever.
This will be Jordan Love for the next 15 years.
Going for the extra point down by 2 in the 4th was classic McCarthy "game management". Bailed out by his players this time.
It's beautiful every time GB beat's Chicago.
0:56 😮🥶 that chick with no coat is wild
"Rodgers to Cobb" legendary.
Legendary? Really? Please don't stretch the point that far. Didn't win a title, THAT would have been legendary.
@@dougamundson6836 Is just a comment on UA-cam. Please don't be so annoying ahahah
@@jomei63 What are you talking about?
@@dougamundson6836 I'm talking about you... Are you ok? 😂😅
@@jomei63 Yeah, not so much. Depression really sucks.
Chills every time I hear "COBB! TOUCHDOWN! RANDALL COBB!"
I remember watching this game with my dad’s side of the family after the Vikings game at my grandmas house in Illinois!!! I’m a Vikings FAN!!!💜💛💜💛
"Not so sure they shouldn't just run that play again." Don't worry, Troy - Jay Cutler has a LOONNGG history of throwing into double coverage, especially with the Packers.
Green Bay Packers Against Chicago Bears NFC Central Division Rivalry From 1970 To 1993 Thanks For Uploading
No way before that ever since the Staleys became the Bears
This rivalry has been a thing since the 20s😭
This was a good game, imagine if that 4th down play didn't happen.
If you like winning regular season games, no one is better.
Truth
Last pass Cutler was past the line of scrimmage anyways...
Love...Reed... Touchdown! The Packers are going to the playoffs!!!
