Genetically afghanistan is a mixbag. The current racial makeup of greater Afghanistan is a result of historical migration and settlement. But the greater genetic contributors are Indian greek and persians. Well the thing about the lost tribe is an unproven notion. The history binds this region to the subcontinent and persia. Afghanistan has many sites of indus valley civilization. The ancient indian texts like mahabharata and arthshatra mentions about the uttar kuru(tajik or uzbek one of them) and gandhar(present day kandhar) as mahajanpads and the final indian frontiers. Gandhari the mother of kauravas and his brother shakuni the villans of mahabharata were of gandhar(kandhar), the name peshavar comes from purushpura that was the seat of kanishka a famous ancient indian king of I suppose kushan dynasty. Although there was judaism and Christianity present in Afghanistan before the advent of islam but the mjor religion followed were Zoroastrianism (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoroastrianism) and hinduism. Even as late as 8th cenury BC their exsisted a hindu dynasty that ruled afghanistan the pal dynasty they later migrated to Kashmir with the advent of islam. The nuristan region had a substantial population of these aboriginal belivers as late as 1800s and hence the region was called kafiristan till the last century. The compiler of first ever grammar/ compiler of samskrit grammar panini was a pakhtun and came from aria or afghanistan. Afghanistan word comes from the samskrit word ashvaka. Their were three home lands for vedic Indo-aryans. Ariana(from where irag gets its name), ashvayana(afghanistan gets its name) (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariana) and bharatvarsha/India or aryavrat/north India and dakshinavrata/south India. The etymological view supported by numerous noted scholars is that the name Afghan evidently derives from Sanskrit Aśvakas, q.v. the Assakenoiof Arrian.[25] This view was propounded by scholars like Christian Lassen,[26] J. W. McCrindle,[27] M. V. de Saint Martin,[28] and É. Reclus,[29] and has been supported by numerous modern scholars.[30][31][32][33][34]
In Sanskrit, the word ashva (Iranian aspa, Prakritassa) means "horse", and ashvaka (Prakrit assaka) means "horseman",[35] "horse people",[36] "land of horses",[37] as well as "horse breeders".[38] Pre-Christian times knew the people of the Hindukushregion as Ashvakas (horsemen), since they raised a fine breed of horses and had a reputation for providing expert cavalrymen. The 5th-century-BCE Indian grammarian Pāṇini calls them Ashvakayana[39] and Ashvayana.[40][41]Mahabharata mentions them as Ashvaka(na). Classical writers, however, use the respective equivalents Aspasioi (or Aspasii, Hippasii) and Assakenoi (or Assaceni/Assacani, Asscenus) etc. The Aspasioi/Assakenoi (Ashvakas = Cavalrymen) is stated to be another name for the Kambojas of ancient texts because of their equestriancharacteristics.[42] Alexander Cunningham and a few other scholars identify these designations with the modern name Afghan.[43]
The Indian epic Mahabharata speaks about Kambojas among the finest horsemen,[44] and ancient Pali texts describe their lands as the land of horses.[45][46][47] Kambojas spoke Avestan language and followed Zoroastrianism.[48][49]Some scholars believe Zoroastrianism originated in land of Kambojas.[50]
The former Aspins of Chitral and Ashkuns(Yashkuns) of Gilgit are identified as the modern representatives of the Pāṇinian Aśvakayanas(Greek: Assakenoi); and the Asip/Isap (cf. Aspa-zai> Yusufzai) in the Kabul valley (between the rivers Kabul and Indus) are believed to be modern representatives of the Pāṇinian Aśvayanas (Greek: Aspasioi) respectively.
Pasted this part stright from Wikipedia 😂 the pre islamic history of afghanistan is tied to Indian more than any other modern nation may be Iran but then pre islamic history of iran is also tied to India. These place had similar cultural fabric.
One more from Wikipedia
Relations between the people of Afghanistan and India traces to the Indus Valley Civilisation.[14]Following Alexander the Great's brief occupation, the successor state of the Seleucid Empirecontrolled the region known today as Afghanistan. In 305 BCE, they ceded much of it to the Indian Maurya Empire as part of an alliance treaty.
Alexander took these away from the Aryans and established settlements of his own, but Seleucus Nicatorgave them to Sandrocottus(Chandragupta), upon terms of intermarriage and of receiving in exchange 500 elephants.[15]
- Strabo, 64 BCE - 24 CE
The Mauryans brought Buddhism from India and controlled the area south of the Hindu Kush. Their decline began 60 years after Ashoka's rule ended, leading to the Hellenistic reconquest of the region by the Greco-Bactrians. Much of it soon broke away from the Greco-Bactrians and became part of the Indo-Greek Kingdom. The Indo-Greeks had been defeated and expelled by the Indo-Scythiansin the late 2nd century BCE.[16] Much of Afghanistan has been influenced by Buddhist, Hindu and Zoroastrian cultures until the arrival of Islam in the 7th century. But despite many Afghans accepting the message of Islam, the Muslims and Hindus lived side by side.
"Kabul has a castle celebrated for its strength, accessible only by one road. In it there are Musulmáns, and it has a town, in which are infidelsfrom Hind."[17]
- Istahkrí, 921 CE
derek doyel en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pashtuns#History_and_origins
There is another theory which suggests that the name Afghanistan directly derives from the Sanskrit word Upaganasthan where Upagana represents the various tribes of Afghanistan. Otherwise the ancient name of Afghanistan was Aryana.
i guess I'm kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
@Dawson Benedict Try FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
@Mathias Uriel Yup, have been using flixzone for since march myself :)
Hi,
Pashtunistan here actually is referred to territory which has been divided by the british in the so called Durand line, you can check bannu resolution for the reference.
And for the lost tribe you were talking about their lineage, i would like to differ on that as the region they inhabit has been under many kings and rulers since the ancient times, the earliest records have shown descendance to avestan ... Much before the old testaments ...
apart from that you are doing good, i like your reactions, most sensible so far than the most of them out there!
Keep going good work
Peace !
The more u dive deep into india, the more diversity you will find. Tibetans,Afghanis,Nepalese people from every ethnicity co exists here. 😁
Jewish people in Cochin....and I guess Parsi people came from Iran many years ago....
And Arab community from yemen in hyderabad
Rajeev Singh idiot Nepalis are as Indian as a Bihari or Gujarati. There is a state called Sikkim which is a Nepalese majority state.
Even Chinese Community in Kolkata
very nice. there are lot of afghani students studying in indian universities. one of the students happens to be my friend and because of that, the misconceptions that i had regarding Afghanistan and pathans were cleared. pure ♥ people.
Kabuliwala is a very famous short story by Nobel laureate rabindranath tagore
Kabuliwala story is in Our Syllabus ... I think i have read kabuliwala story of Rabinder nath Taigor in the middle school. !! ... It was Very sad story !!
I actually cried in my class (it was 7th period out of 8th) and came bawling to home. My mom and class teacher had a good laugh over this in the next parent teacher meet.😂 Such a beautiful story.
What great timing-- yesterday the Afghan cricket player Rashid Khan, who trained and plays in India for SUNRISERS . topped the ICC ranking for bowlers. Every Indian University has Afghan students and hospitals treat Afghan patients.
Man this video is amazing !! Im from kolkata....i have seen meny kabuliwalas in my life, but i didnt know that they are pashton people !! And moreover, they forgot to mention one thing that kabuliwalas were a huge part of money lending business in post british era, in kolkata atleast. They used to have a huge money lending network....they maintained it with honesty...but as the stories goes, if any dishonest borrowing party tried to get away with their money, kabuliwalas tend to get ferocious....but nowadays, in the era of corporate investment companies, kabulis got downsided by the hard competition and risk factors....soo, thats my end of story....love from kolkata ❤️✌️🙏🤘
in all honesty they are still in the business. I know someone who does I call him mamujaan. My father used to take some loans from him and we have maintained good relationship and faith.
Brother in India there are more than 10 million pashtoons living in India, their concentration is more in pathankot,Punjab, there is a whole area in doab of uttar pradesh called rohilkhand, which was dominated by rohilla pathans,Bhopal in madhya prdesh,Bihar,Mysore,Hyderabad,Lucknow, you can find Pathans all over India because India was " soan chidi" for pathans,of course many have adopted Urdu as their mother tongue and no more Pushtu speaking ,only Pashtun speaking about 10 million, and 4-5 million pakhtoons left for Pakistan during partition most of them in Karachi, and no other muslims use Khan as surname (may be few) except pakhtoons
I am too my father is from Khyber paktunwa I am a Pashto
What ? No way 10 millions live, there are few thousands at best (if you don't count Afghan-Pashtuns), the majority of "Rohilla Pathans" migrated to Pakistan at Partition.
I hope, you will slowly understand India is much diverse and accommodative, then what the propaganda machine shows there in Pakistan.
Like wise bro. ;) individuals have to make an effort to understand and not let the propaganda machines dictate what's right and whats wrong
Now ppl from afghanistan come in general not only to sell dry fruits or Lend money to people but to study in our universities. The original kabuliwala is basically a story written by the very famous novelist, poet RABINDRANATH THAKUR(tagore).
Walla what the? i never knew that Kabuliwalas still live in India, Calcutta. I love Afghans Pashtun people and they love us no doubt. Yes its heartwarming and nostalgic to see friendly Kabuliwalas no doubt. How lovely and Sweet to see this. Hamara India ko bahut love karta hai no doubt about it... ;-p ;-))

It must be really delicious outstanding and finger licking good. We Indians have a rich taste for sumptuous heavenly cuisines bro coz we Indians love mouth watering Biryani and malai Kebabs.
Hahaha Please don't use that word Pashtunistan dear lady coz Pashtunistan does not exist! I really enjoyed this video thanks a lot bro...!
Hi Sam :) Singa yeh? Pashtoons are in Afghanistan and western pakistan region. Pashto has a lot of dialects. Kababs and pulao and chicken along with some sabzi.
HOpe to visit very soon :) and thank you for your support.
Kabuli Wala is an iconic story written by Rabindra Nath Tagore. The name Kabuliwala comes from the book. Generations have grown up reading the Kabuli Wala and falling in love with it and the real people too of course.
Pathans are found not just in Kolkata but all over India..in fact in DelhIP there is a certain place called Mini Afghanistan..In UP too u will find them everywhere...Afghanistan as mentioned in the Vedas was once part of Bharata.
Please read about Hindu Shahi dynasty of Afghanistan. Ruled by Pashtun hindu Kings before Islam arrived.
This is the best video you have uploaded. We use the word kabuliwala to those are from Kabul. I have few friends whose ancestors came from Afghanistan. Now they do business in my hometown. They like to fight and love (contradictory to each other). Have big heart. Once Khan chacha (my father's friend) gifted a beautiful Scarfs to my sister.
Hope Asad will come to meet us with a beautiful scarf.
Kabuliwalas living in india ... these things make me feel proud of my India.
Oh! You're a Pashto!! No wonder you're so handsome :))
The other day I met an old Afghan lady. She came all the way from Afghanistan to India for her treatment. I met her in a hospital, she was dressed in a black robe that covered her full body except for her face. She was of my grandmother's age. So, that day I saw her struggling with her phone, her credit was over. Everytime she tried calling someone the automated system gave her a message indicating she will not be able to complete the call due to low balance. Since the message was in English and Hindi, she couldn't understand anything. So, she turned to me, gave her phone and said "Bhaiya deko kya bolta, credit khalas?". Oh! And that smile on her wrinkled face, I still can't forget her. I wish I met her again. May God bless her wherever she is.
Thank you for still keeping faith in humanity.
Pashtunistan does exist, it is the ancestral homeland of the Pashtun people. Look it up on Wikipedia :)

Dude, at first I ignored your videos as there are thousands of reaction channels on UA-cam, but the way you talk, and your curiosity of knowing things and you react actually and give feedback and a little talk, not stare at videos or gain subscriber by looks, and now I can't stop myself watching your videos continuesly..

Kabuliwalas are always welcome, stories upon we all grew up!😀
Man I like when you spoke the Hindi/Urdu in Afghani style was just awesome 😂😇
By Pashtunistan, these people mean the land historically belonging to the Pashtuns. Like Punjab belongs to Punjabis but is dividend in two. Similarly, Pakistan has KPK and the rest is in Afghanistan, because of British divisions obviously.
This video just showed a tiny glimpse into the wonderful Pashtun people living in Kolkata. Have eaten at that restaurant shown...the food is delicious. There are many Pashtuns living & working in Delhi & Mumbai as well(especially Delhi). Had 3 Afghan friends in college as well. Were amazing & very fun loving.
MAN u got really emotional in the video ,
There are many Pakhtuns here in my state, Assam. Also there is a tradition of breaking eggs competition in Assam during the Assamese New Year.

Simply loved your reaction to that wonderful video.......it was a straight from the heart kind of emotion! If you enjoyed that video, then I would encourage you to watch an old movie 'Kabuliwallah' starring that brilliant actor Balraj Sahni in the title role!! He misses his homeland and croons that immensely moving melody 'Aye mere pyare watan, aye mere bichde chaman, tujh pe dil kurbaan'.
Bhai, bachpan ki yaad aa gayi. Kaabuliwala was a popular story during my childhood days. It felt pretty emotional.
Main bhi Kolkata se hun....Kolkata main bahat sare Kabul ke log permanently rehete hain.
Now about you.. Come live if possible.. I have so many questions about my friend. From where he has studied.. How was his school... Is he like modern songs or light songs or classical.. Whether his heart is still with him or someone has already stolen... Which sports he use to play in his childhood... About parents.. Grandmother's love and listing story from her.. . Story and poem he liked most in his childhood..what do you do now... Is he resemble to his Amma or Abbu... Who many brothers and sisters do you have??????????
??????????????

Afterall Kolkata is the "City of Joy".....be it anyone, feels joy here.
