- We headed to the beautiful Thorp Perrow Arboretum to check out Thorp Perrow parkrun. The run itself is on the private grounds of the Thorp Perrow Estate, and as such, then parkrun freedom runs are not possible here. So if you want to check out this beautiful course then you'll need to visit on an actual parkrunday.
The team at Thorp Perrow are very experienced having mostly come from Catterick parkrun. It was so great to chat to lots of the parkrun community that were without a parkrun when Catterick parkrun finished. Everyone loves a happy ending and it was so nice to her that these parkrunners absolutely love their new parkrun home. The team are so super friendly and their passion for this special parkrun shines through.
The run itself is a stunning one lapper on very varied terrain. With lots to see on route this parkrun is one to take your time on. Forget speed, look up, and enjoy the beauty on this incredible parkrun.
If you fancy making a day of it then you can pay for entry to the arboretum itself. We had a gorgeous wander around... Autumn is a really special time to visit!
Happy running,
Nicola :)

Thanks Nicola, another wonderful experience. We love the English UA-cam videos and have watched so many of Allen's as well. I do hope your life is going well. Peter
Thanks Peter, there are so many beautiful places to explore 😍😍😍
Totally with poppy, animals of any kind in captivity is wrong wrong wrong, I love her values x
Awww thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ She's got the biggest heart 🥰
Wow trees, mud, castles, sheeps and crocodiles - all the things! I am with Poppy on caging aminals but it is lovely to see them, so its a tricky one. Thanks for sharing.
You'd love this parkrun... It's epic! 😍
That red tree! 😍 So beautiful. The wallabies are cute too. Poor little things - I wonder what they think of the cold?
The tree was breathtaking! I was mesmerised 😍😍😍
Loved the crocodile 'reveal' ! Sheep dodging & great scenery. Maybe funnel duckers should have to cross the croc pond?
The sheep during this parkrun were so brilliant. Definitely a parkrun moment I'll always remember! 😃 🥰 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🏃♀️🐑🐑
Thanks Nicole. Looks pretty
It's gorgeous 🤩🤩🤩
Lovely video! Such a stunning parkrun. I did it a few weeks ago and loved the variety and scenery. Never been in the actual arboretum but that looks like it's worth a visit. Thanks for making the video. X
Thanks 🤗 Yes the arboretum was definitely worth a visit on a sunny autumn day. Those colours! 😍 The parkrun route and the team are worth the visit alone though, as I'm sure you'd agree 😃😃😃
Another one to add to my list and you got position 163 and 63 is the only position I need to finish my Position Bingo 😫 That tree was awesome!
Definitely add it to your list! 😃 Sorry for taking your number 😜🤣
Great feature our club Nidd Valley are going tomorrow 💛🖤
Have an awesome time 😃 You'll definitely need a change of shoes and socks and you're probably going to want to run in mudclaws or something similar... Especially for the last km or so 😂 It'll be brilliant! 🏃♀️
Great park run. Best wishes out there.
Thanks, it was a great run for sure! 😍
I visited the arboretum some years, but that course looks really varied - need to go back!
It's definitely worth a visit for this run! 😍
Great video. Loved the scenery and I could certainly see how the course would change throughout the year. Looked like a beautiful course as well. I wish we had ParkRuns in the US but the nearest one here to me was a 5-hour drive. I just don't think they are a "thing" here. Loved seeing how you spent the day there and appreciate your attitude towards animals as well. Thanks for taking me along on your adventures.
Thanks for the kind words 🤗 5 hours?! 😳😳😳 I think there's a different culture in the states, I'm not sure parkrun has caught on as such as I think people expect there to be a catch! 🤣🙈 They're like "Wait... It's free? 🤨 Why is it free? 🤔🤨🤨🤨 Hopefully the word will spread and one day there will be more 🤞😃
@@NicolaRuns yeah I think some of it is that people want to refreshments at the end, the T-shirt, and medal. And I think you are right, people are suspicious of a free event. Also I think most parks around here have permitting issues. The cities and park districts all want their cut when you organize an event. Just the climate of money running everything here in the states sort of prevents it from happening.
@@eddiegaul1903 that's a shame but events do happen over there so hopefully their good work will spread 😃🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
It really depends on your state. We have two in a Massachusetts and another is starting up in the Spring. Yet there are none in CT, RI, NH or VT. But ME has 2.
What a beautiful park run and great video it is always amazing and you are brilliant at making your videos and well done for completing Yorkshire.
Thanks for your super kind words Bertie 👍 😊
What a beautiful landscape to run through, if you don't mind the boggy conditions.
It's such a stunning one lapper that it's totally worth the muddy feet! 😍😃
Brilliant Nicola. Great memories of a fantastic event with the sheep and mud! Thanks(!) for capturing me getting VERY close to falling over in the mud for posterity haha!
Seriously though it was lovely to meet you after the run and I love seeing every video you do. Keep up the good work and hopefully see you at another event soon.
Thank you so much for your lovely words and for letting me use the video 🤗 it perfectly demonstrated how slippy and boggy that section was! 😃 Hope to see you again in parkrunworld at some point, come and say hi if you see me ☺️
@@NicolaRuns Absolutely I will!
@@andybrook9518 🤗
Stunning landscape and scenery to trot in 🎉❤
It was a gorgeous one that's for sure! 😍
Exercise and gorgeous scenery, pure essence in combination ♥️💪
Merry Christmas to you ALL 💐♥️🌟🙏😇🎂🍻😜
@@daynerpotter9514 Merry Christmas to you too. If you see any of the rest of the family please pass on my love 🎄💕
Great video as always Nicola. Were the sheep staging their own parkrun? If so, this could be the start of a new series - maybe cows next? 😂🐄
Weren't they brilliant! 😍🐑🐑🐑
And thanks 🤗
Hooray , bluey would have loved the sheep , better not let him watch this 😬
🤣🤣🤣🐕🐑🤣🤣🤣 He'd want to round them up SO badly! Bless him ❤️
Looks like it could be a cross country course 😮 Happy running.
It's actually based on a running clubs XC course! 😃 It's absolutely awesome! 😍
One to do when in the area. I've visited Thorpe perrow itself a few times. Highly recommended, esp the birds of prey centre and the mini zoo with tame wallabies that eat out of your hand.
No way! I didn't know you could feed the wallabies! We'll have to go back! 😃😃😃
@@NicolaRuns you can buy bags of food from the birds of prey centre
@@garthcox4307 I thought there was just goat food! Thanks for the top tip! 👍😃
Why don't you wear a nice pair of gortex trail shoes on these shortish runs
I have found them a blessing the past few weeks, keeping my feet dry and warm..,
My max trail run 15 miles run so far,no issues.
I do sometimes, I've got a few pairs which I love but when I think there will be puddles or it's been very wet then I don't as I've had a few experiences where they've filled with water when it comes in over the tops! Gortex would have been perfect here though as I said in the video. I was expecting it to be a lot wetter so I left mine at home! 🙃🤦🏻♀️🤣
@@NicolaRuns Everyone seems to say they fill up with water,it's not been my experience so far.
Iam going to use gaiters when they arrive tomorrow.
@@alanrobinson2229 they only fill up if water comes in over the top. A run like this and they'd be perfect 👍
The real reason why there is no super quick times is due to the sheep interference.
Lol maybe, although it depends on luck! Lots of runners were unaffected. We were very pleased to experience the stampede 🤣🐑🐑🐑
