Yes, I am on maternity leave currently. I didn't meet the criteria for maternity allowance because I was not yet 6 months with my current employer then. But I am getting my maternity pay which is supposed to last till September but I don't have to stay at home till September, so I am ending it soon as I go back to work
You mean you fill the claim form as an unemployed. Did you send your original marriage certificate was it returned. How do you fill the spouse section.
Please how did you end the maternity pay? Do they just stop paying or I need to call them? Someone said she was working full time and collecting maternity pay at the same time without telling them she has gone back to work.

I rambert u said u do not have an ILR yet, so if u do not have an ILR or British passport, you are not paid any money by UK government.

My wife works fulltime and recently started her one year maternity leave but her employer said they will pay her for only 17 weeks because she's just 6 months on the job.
1. Please what do you advice What happens after the 17 weeks?
2. Can the maternity allowance be paid together with that of her employer?
most employers even in healthcare dont pay a dime if you are not upto one year with them. what happens after the 17 weeks is that she won’t get any pay.
She can claim pay from government. Just fill the form online or request for the form to be sent to you

I am currently in my 5th month working with the company and I'm already 31weeks gone. I earn more than £120 per week. Do you think I can get my maternity allowance from the government and can I still be working with a different employer while I'm being paid the allowance?
Yes you can, you need to present payslip for only 12 or 13 weeks to the department of works as part of your application. You will be qualified
But you can’t work while receiving payment

The rule applies to those whose course Start January 2024. So even if you get visa this year it doesn't matter cause your course starts January 2024
If you are starting January, they won’t even give them visa , make Una try another country for now leave uk alone

they actually access you for maternity allowance first and if you don’t meet that then they will access you on SMP because SMP is usually lower. Also depends on how long you have worked at that company for MP and how long you have been paying NI Tax for SMP

It’s nothing to be scared about if you’re not eligible they will tell you and it had no effect on your stay in the Uk. Feel the form as applied to week

Both can’t be claimed at the same time. You can get paid by employer and govt

Yes you are entitled to it. If your employer does not give you the form, you can go to the job centre and claim, so far you have been working before you had your baby

Hi Tochi please I just got to the UK on the 7th June 2023 and I'm 33 weeks already as a dependent. I haven't started any work yet as I'm trying to settle in and see if I can get any remote job to work from home because I may be giving birth around 36/37 weeks.
Please I'm I in any way qualified for this allowance.

The British can be cruel. I know of someone who has a British child living with her in Nigeria...all because she was unable to live with husband before his sudden death. Isn't it ironic that she cannot move to the UK despite having married a UK citizen and her child is one. Can you help her please?
Is she a British citizen? Is the child up to 18 and does the child have British passport?
@@deborahoyebisi She is not a British citizen but her child is because the father was a British citizen when he was born. Her application to join him in the UK was on when he died. The UKVI then asked her to withdraw the application and made her a refund of all the application fee. Isn't it ironic? I appreciate you response, ma'am.
