I just discovered this local Rock band - they're fuckin awesome. Feel lil bit bummed out. Totally wish I could've seen and heard them crunch those guitars and crush those drums - LIVE. Love & Respect__________mykey from toronto
Here is the Lyrics guys: Reckless and weary, The truth has been buried, Held down by the hand, That refuses to carry. The burden you built, The lies, do you hear me? The insult, the white flag, You refuse to carry. I'm letting you go, And all that you showed me. I'm letting you know, That you don't control me. The feeling is cold, And life is unfolding. Reckless and weary, I'm desperately holding on. So if you can't get a word in, Its because I don't care what you think, Don't be alone inside, A world that's filled with make-believe. Broke! Inside, This life, you can never be reborn within, I came this far erase my scars. Fight! This time, Inside, take a break from the lie you live, I came this far, erase my scars. Find my control, Find reasons to beat this, Find truth below, The lies and the wreckage. I can't let go, I'm too close, too restless, I'm letting you know, I'm far too aggressive. So if you can't get a word in, Its because I don't care what you think, Don't be alone inside, A world that's filled with make-believe. Broke! Inside, This life, you can never be reborn within, I came this far erase my scars. Fight! This time, Inside, take a break from the lie you live, I came this far erase my scars. Five years ago, My life was affected, By years of hope and learning life lessons. You let me know, By leaving me helpless, What then was unknown is now unprotected. I'm so! Broke! Inside, This life, you can never be reborn within, I came this far erase my scars. Fight! This time, Inside, take a break from the lie you live, I came this far, erase my scars.
Interesting way to think about this song, I choose to think about it in a different way. How soon he lost his nephew at such a young age and the lyrics seem to be like he is talking to the world, god, etc. In one word.. Frusteration
Hes also a very cool guy. They all are. They dedicated a show to my dad after he committed suicide. We both loved them and when I met them I couldnt help but talk about him and they talked about him on stage.
This song got me through a battle with one of my biggest curses in life, which so happens to be my father. To all the children out there enduring a living hell, keep pushing!
Ever meet a female that has the same problem?? Grew up feeling hated and unloved. He hated me because I didn't fit into his mold and I'm proud to say that I fit into mine. Don't need him to validate me, I am just fine and don't need him in my life. Haven't seen him in 30 years. Is he still alive? Don't know and don't care.
I rocked out to this in high school, I’m very thankful you were able to find it and enjoy it =) I graduated in 2010 to give you an idea of how long this band has stuck
i found it years ago but it is one of those that seems to always escape the limelight. and i've gotten into so many good bands that aren't in the limelight it's hard to keep up with them. but 12M views. they' not been able to hide this one enough to smother it.
'23 and '24 is getting close, huh!! Such a great song! I love seeing people react the same way I did when I first heard it. Thank you JM for introducing me to this. I will always miss you.
2024 and I’m still blasting this as one of my favourite songs to workout to. First found it in 2013 when I first started training. Pure nostalgia. Still an under rated band till this day.
I swear I have been listening to Evans Blue since at least 2006. And this is still my favorite band. Now my kids listen to them! Both singers kicked ass. Amazing songs and such an energetic band. I look forward to new music all the time. Keep putting it out here, guys, because WE ARE LISTENING!
One of my favorite rock songs ever, I wish there was more rock bands being noticed at the grammy awards I never really see them. I can relate to this song a lot.
Look at this year's grammy nominees for rock - include 21 Pilots, Beyonce, Alabama Shakes, and same thing last year, and the year before that... matter of fact, last year an actual rock band won all 3 rock prizes was 2013 (Black Keys, and they're not exactly that rock'n'roll in all honesty). I'm goddamn sick of this. Give rock prizes to ROCK, not some alternative pop or whatever just because they're introvert and "edgy"!
This song is anthem for those who had suffered a loss of a loved one, and I do workout to this song, so imagine how many times I've listened to this and I am keep going to.
I saw them in a small venue in the first months of him taking over as thier singer. They opened for Drowning Pool. He was still clearly nervous as a front man. His vocals were amazing. We made him feel at home.
This year,I entirely disowned my toxic family. I decided to continue my journey without them after realizing they were the reason I live with such a negative mindset. It's been hard, especially because my 1 year old daughter is involved and can't see her cousins because of it. I have listened to this song to remind myself of the damage they spent 34 years doing. It's helped me cope . I know thats notbthe meaning of this song, but my situation is how i interpreted it originally-dealing with shitty people and being mentally broken from it. I love evans blue because their music has been a comfort to me since I first hear "Cold(but I'm still here)" in 2006 when the first boy(or man, whatever, we were both 18) that I loved rejected me. It helped me get through those lonely nights.
I sit here tonight thinking…when was the last time I was truly happy? Happy about myself, happy about my life? What happened to me? When I was young I was the kindest, genuine, happiest man most people would ever meet. Now at 40 I’m almost broken, feeling used, abandoned, betrayed, but I won’t let them succeed because tolerant people like us are too strong and too good. I’m starting life over from scratch and erasing my family from my life. All I’ve done is give! and got nothing in return but toxicity. I’m happy for you and truly wish you all the best! The best days are ahead, the world is yours! We came this far, time to erase the scars! Sincerely, Fred.
@fredstone5872 thank you. Best wishes with your journey as well. I wrote this comment 2 months ago and my life has been nothing but peace. I can't escape the permanent trauma they've already caused but I am preventing new trauma from happening. It's difficult , ngl, but for my peace it's worth it.

1 year after losing my nephew too and still feel the pain, born to this world, cried about a minute and gone forever, even we didn't give him a name yet
Howard "H-Bomb" Davis is one of the most underrated drummers he was on Evans Blue's 2nd album from 2007 and Parabelle's (orginal EB vocalist band after he got kicked out) albums Your Starry Eyes and The Kill Plan
The video is dedicated to Dan Chandler's nephew Chase Franklin, who died of a rare brain cancer at the age of 8. Finally a good music video with meaning and a good song you guys are awesome. May god help you and him
This song is actually VERY deep its about his relationship with his little brother who was 12 years old and actually succumbed to cancer and it gave him strangth to pressue his music as a way to release his fbottled feeling
His brother struggled with chemotherapy referanced when he says "5 years ago my life was effected by years of HOPE and learning life lessons you let me know by leaving me helpless what then was unknown was now unprotected" meaning his amune system was gravely effected VERY sad story

some days, pain is so intense that your day is already lost. when you take enough painkillers you drink so much caffein that you can go on your habits in the night. but you'll sleep the day after while you really wanna sleep for ever. The words " I'm too close too restless now" means that for me. Mind is so powerful, but your flesh is so weak.
This song helped me so much when I was coming off one of the worst drug binges of my life. I wanted the outside and inside scars gone. I made it back. I'm still here.

H-Bomb. I saw him play in 1995 in ST..Petersburg FL. When he was with ALAS. The Emotional technical talent with power from his Heart. The vibe Howard projects live, can put you in a trance from which you never want to leave. Drummer King!
***** Last I remember they just said they were going on indefinite hiatus, that they may come back together but they wanted to focus on other things like their families and what not.
I'm just going to put this out there. 1: you said medal LOL. 2: I wouldn't Classify this or disturbed as heavy metal. If you even Google "Evans Blue" they come up as a rock band, same goes for disturbed.
I have very sorry about your nephew brother. I can feel your pain through this song. Been years but I love this song and enjoy the passion you put inside this song. God bless.
To the best of my knowledge, its about his nephew and his battle with opioid addiction. Pure and simple, not trying to get into a thing about drugs, or addiction, for that matter. Just what the song is about.
This song hits close to home because i lost my cousin to cancer at age 6 just like how he lost his nephew to cancer at age 8 this song brings tears to my eyes every time i hear it but that was two years ago January 21 he would have been 8 this year
Still bad ass. We're all made of scars. It's how we use them to survive in this cruel cold world. Thankfully my veins are pumping metal liquid. It's how I've survived through so much. When I use to go to metal concerts I thought...there's thousands of us all feeling the same thing. That's bad ass to connect among strangers to music.
Welcome to the underground world of underrated, unnoticed talent, where groups like Evans Blue are representing
Right ✅️

I miss Evans blue so much. Hope both them and disturbed come back soon, heavy medal isn't the same without either one of them
Alex Breisch check out Fight or Flight, has the singer from Evans Blue and the guitarist and drummer from Disturbed
***** Last I remember they just said they were going on indefinite hiatus, that they may come back together but they wanted to focus on other things like their families and what not.
Your wish will come soon.
I'm just going to put this out there. 1: you said medal LOL. 2: I wouldn't Classify this or disturbed as heavy metal.
If you even Google "Evans Blue" they come up as a rock band, same goes for disturbed.
just listen to Device, basically the same
Found this in 2021, hits home and I can relate to this entire song, wonderful lyrics. Thank you
The constant painting molds us
I have very sorry about your nephew brother. I can feel your pain through this song. Been years but I love this song and enjoy the passion you put inside this song. God bless.
This shits sick. I've loved it since I heard it 2 years ago, it never gets old.
I've been loving it for years n everytime I play it I still get goosebumps n scream out the lyrics
The badass drummer stole the show for real for real!!
They need way way wayyyy more attention
Early 4 Life 6 years
It's 2024. Who's feeling the nostalgia?? ❤️❤️
Me ❤

Thanks for the lyrics..now I'm standing on my living room table and doing a spectacular swan dive as my wife looks on in disbelief 😁
Always been a favorite from this band...love to crank this up as loud as it goes in the car!
Loving those subtle inhale screams
To the best of my knowledge, its about his nephew and his battle with opioid addiction. Pure and simple, not trying to get into a thing about drugs, or addiction, for that matter. Just what the song is about.
Man the story behind the little kid (his nephew) is truly devastating. Cancer never does and never will discriminate.
My opinion is this guys got the best voice in Rock right now
Justin Melancon is a good voice. But a Myles Kennedy is better
Maynard Keenan has a much better voice and his band, A Perfect Circle, is an obvious influence of this band.
You can't forget about Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and Audioslave. I wouldn't say best, but he is up there.
.
@@WordUnheard um...his band is tool .the other bands are just side projects.
Damn Howard get it! Best drummer ever ! Underrated asf
drummer shreds it, plays hard i like that
AskingAlexandria43 goes by h-bomb.....he is awesome
Da pra sentir a emoção do baterista, muito foda.
Going hard on the drums
Some of the best vocals I have heard in a long time! This song ROCKS!
Awesome song. The first 50 seconds of his voice in this song is just so cool. 😍😎
This song hits close to home because i lost my cousin to cancer at age 6 just like how he lost his nephew to cancer at age 8 this song brings tears to my eyes every time i hear it but that was two years ago January 21 he would have been 8 this year
Im sorry
Still bad ass. We're all made of scars. It's how we use them to survive in this cruel cold world. Thankfully my veins are pumping metal liquid. It's how I've survived through so much. When I use to go to metal concerts I thought...there's thousands of us all feeling the same thing. That's bad ass to connect among strangers to music.
Something about a bald white guy on the mic, you just know hes gonna say SOMETHING important in the most hardcore way possible. ❤
