Thank you so so very much! I’ve been trying to get into vocoding for the longest time. Thanks to you I now have the essential knowledge I needed! You’re fantastic, mate! Thank you so much! It’s time for some music making!
Thank you so much for this. I didn’t know to switch it back from sidechain to a mic channel after recording so you can hear it played back. Thank you friend!
Hey there, great tutorial! Also for me, it's not working and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong..:) The synth and vocals are both working, but I can't seem to get them to work together as a vocoder. Also tried switching the analysis in/synthesis in sidechains, but no luck. MacBook Pro 2018, Logic 10.4.8, Behringer UMD 404HD input, Nektar LX61+ midi keyboard
OK, I was doing good up until I got to 2:18 where you set Signal to Ana, and I got NO sound. After messing around for a half hour, I found this: With my MacBook Pro, you MUST use Input 1. I use a Scarlett 2i2 audio interface, and I normally use Input 2 for my mic, and that was the source of my problem. No idea why.
this doesn't work for me :(. I followed all of your instructions but I just get a layer of vocal and a layer of synth instead of a vocoder sound. Please help
It sounds like something is routed wrong. I’m pretty sure I went a little too fast in my explanation over some of that so go back through and double check everything.
@@LogicProLife Mine's just a Behringer UMC 404HD Mic in a TLA to Input 4 selected from the filterbank in sidechain. With Logic Pro X whatever the previous version was from this latest. And I'm using a Nektar Impact 49+ and can see my keys register and everything. I even have demix for multiple instance of midi recording. And I get the vocoder to work perfectly by itself as a vocoder with my voice and the voice synthesizer selections. But with the filterbank preset and me trying to work with it like you are on different software instruments it isn't working.
Thanks! I never knew I wanted to know this as much as I now know I do...ideas I've had in the past that I can now achieve!
Please send a link to something you make with this.
If it works out I will!
learned the hard way you should use headphones while trying this

Have you tried setting your Sidechain option to your Input instead of the vocal track?
@@iamkevinmiranda u a real one for that Kev
This is very cool, do you know a way for adding also compressor to the input?

Also thanks for the quick response!
In my vocoder shows "manual" and not "factory default" and it doesn't show me the same options, solution? thanks!
Hey. Can you go through your nice synth and accordion like sounds too?
Thanks for the vid :)

Why is this not working for me? When I change it to VOC from Ana it won’t track the voice anymore..
There are tons of little settings which could be affecting the output. Double check everything.
how do you use the live input while changing steams and the live input still sounding? thanks

Still finishing it. 😂
The side chain option doesnt appear, do you maybe know hoyw i fix it? thanks!
