    Being a part of a BS/MD program was a unique experience in my path to medical school. I've made other videos detailing my experience before but I hope this sheds some light on what it was like to be a senior in an accelerated medical program right before matriculating to med school.

    Did you get credits for the APs taken in HS? Also, do youtake classes in summer? If yes, how many credits?

    • @NDMD
      @NDMD  3 роки тому +5

      You do get AP credits for some classes! But for my program they wouldn’t allow you to get out of bio 1 but anything else you could get out of using AP credits (any social studies, English, chem 1 etc).since it’s cohort system most programs won’t let you take summer classes tho

    I’m way past med school at this point, but this program sounds kinda bad. She basically had to do the same things and get the same scores you would need normally to get in to med school. Don’t see much advantage to it.. at my undergrad, those bs/md kids could basically just chill until med school started.

      Best way is to attend med school in Europeon countries cause they traditionally have 6 yr med school you can join right after your high school and after completing it you get a MD degree which is recognised all over the world also there schools are the schools whose rankings in entire world is less than 200, also they are really cheap.I am a sophomore now but i don’t really know if i want to become a doctor traditionally like they do in US or in less time and money consuming school in UK. What are your thoughts on this? What would be your advice?

    • @williamyates5863

      @@Anay345 well I’m not sure I understand your situation. If you plan to practice in the US, then I would attend a med school in the US as it can be tricky using your medical degree in other countries. But I’m definitely not an expert in this. I would figure out the rules specific to your situation before making a decision.

      Anay Naik I'm a freshman in college, and me too. I'm thinking to apply to European medical schools because they are quicker and cheaper rather then spending numerous years on trying to become a doctor in the US or Canada.

      @@Mae-nw6cv i say go for it , of course it will be hard for an international medical graduate to get residency in USA but its worth it. I am 14 and have been preparing for my life after high school since last year . I can suggest you a college in poland - Jagieollonian medical university in Krakow, poland. You only have to pass an entrance exam to get in and its rank in world is 176 and around 307 in best global universities. It is my dream and goal to get in this college. If you want more information about this college then you can go to there website 👍Best of luck for your future 👍.

      @@Anay345 Hope you get in too! just keep your grades up and focus on school kiddo. I've actually heard about this medical school and it has good USMLE passing rates as well. Thanks dude. Also, I know a lot of people will dis advise you from going abroad to medical school, but you should always remember that for medicine the experience matters a lot more the where the degree is from. Wishing you tons of luck for your future.

    Hi, so I’m a sophomore and I rlly wanna get into a bs/md program. But so far out of 24 grades, I got a B+ 3 times (once in honors physical science and twice in honors English ) and a B 3 times (one in AP euro, twice in AP Calc AB) and 1 B- (AP Calc AB). Even if I get all A’s from now on (i think 3.875 GPA by the end), do I still have a chance/good chance of getting in? Like even with high sat/act scores and 3 extracurriculars and hopefully and internship this summer/next summer? Thanks!

    • @NDMD
      @NDMD  3 роки тому +11

      Can't comment on plausibility of getting in, that just depends on the competitiveness of the specific program you apply to or what specific programs look for. As far as GPA, as long as you meet the minimum requirements to apply for the program, then you have a shot! I can tell you that not everyone coming into the program has a 4.0 (in fact some of the smartest people in my class had 3.7-3.8 in high school) and if you really excel in other areas, it can only help your chances. Don't lose hope, GPA isn't everything!

    could you put the meaning of the terms on screen when someone you interview mention them? because most of them are usa specific (for example, all the terms regarding exams or requisites or programs and so on) and, while i still kinda understand, it would be nice to be sure of that simply by looking at pop up descriptions in the video itself. sorry if that makes it harder in the editing but idk, i feel like they would be very useful for a wider audience
