I own the Sega CD version and I even have the pink 2nd lightgun.
Sometimes I feel like a kindergarten listening to his teacher tell cool stories during a power outage
Police 911 was a great arcade experience. The mocap cover mechanics remain some of the most unique ever made.
Absolutely, like I said I'm surprised more companies didn't incorporate this
I love Police 911 and Police 911 Part 2.
Classic arcade gun play that world will never see again. 😢
I just saw it at Cidercade.
I have fond memories of my dad and I playing this, Time Crisis and House of the Dead in arcades, trying to beat each other's accuracy.
Note to anyone in the middle of a gunfight: Dont jump up from behind cover and yell stuff, no matter if its "Dont Shoot" or whatever.
You could have called this game "The Darwin Awards" and no one would argue with you!
I love how the vehicles have no drivers yet are full of endless enemies in the back 💀💀
FWIW if you look closely you can see the vehicles actually do have a sprite for the driver crouched down behind the window.
Clown cars.
@@user-do2ev2hr7h yup. Hehe
@@user-do2ev2hr7h 6:20
Mexicans in the car, I can say that cuz I’m Mexican
The mall used in the movie "The Lovely Bones" was where I spent many quarters playing this, as well as the game Area 51.
*”Happy little games...”*
LOL :-)
I had the Super Nintendo version and played it like crazy.
Congratulations, your video was finally displayed in my recommended feed.
Awesome! Thank you!
Still got my copy for the Sega CD
Played this so much in the arcade....thanks for doing this one!
Glad you enjoy it!
Just got a lethal enforcers 2 arcade PCB. Can't wait to try it out!
Great game! Brings back arcade memories at Aladdin's Castle! This is gonna be awesome!
Exactly aladdin's castle 👍👍
So do I.
I worked for Konami one summer in high school as a debugger for the Animaniacs game for the Genesis and SNES. My boss was on the design team for Lethal Enforcers and put himself in the game. He’s the blond haired guy with the mullet and sunglasses that appears frequently (2:00). Many of the scenes were photographed behind Konami’s then-office in Buffalo Grove, IL.
Very cool, thanks for the info
And speaking of which, the protagonist's name of Don Marshall, it is the actual name of the photographer who helped with the game. Don is also well known for his photographic works with Gottlieb Premier, as well as Konami.
Mr Patman sir I just saw your "Patreon channel introduction" and I admire that you kept your (2) favorite passions even though you came across hardship/challenges in life. It made me reflect on how life is precious and what it means to be happy. You not only seem like a happy person but I also sense you are genuine which is probably why I enjoy your retro game documentaries compared to the many other UA-camrs.
I appreciate that! I really do appreciate the kind words thank you so much :-)
This is one of the few games my dad would play with me as a kid. Maybe a bit of a weird game to have that memory of, but it's a fond one nonetheless.
Same here. We played on SNES a ton.
Excellent, I love hearing about families bonding over videogames
@@joegalford2319 We played on the Genesis (though choosing a Genesis over an SNES back in the day is something I've always regretted, but that's another story.) Even mailed away for the 2nd light gun. Wish I still had it considering how rare they apparently are now.
Yeah, I had no idea they were a rare thing till patman said something in the video about it. I can’t remember if we had the second gun or not.
@@joegalford2319 The only reason I remember is because of having to send in the coupon from the manual to order one. Prior to that, we always played with me using the controller, which as mentioned here is a bit too laggy to properly keep up with the game.
Remember when this looked "REAL" hahah
still does!
Yeah I saw this and my jaw dropped hahahh “wow look how far we have come. It’s so realistic that it’s terrifying”
Cuz there was actual ppl in the game, digitized into the game like mortal kombat and pit fighter
@@thehellezell true they still don’t use photos ... surely could do a new version .. pit fighter was also good
Limited electricity and internet in Houston right now. I choose to use my time to watch this!
LOL, that is high praise indeed. Thanks
You Know I'm From Houston Texas Too Also Now I'm Still Living Here in Texas Still And Now I'm Living in Spring Texas Near to Oak Ridge North Texas Closer to The Woodlands Area Here in Texas And it's Awesome!!! Same Goes to Houston San San Antonio And Finally Austin.
I played Lethal Enforcers 2 on a friends Genesis as a kid, its a very fond memory that I cherish ^_^ also, the music for 2 & 3 are real bangers for their genre
The 1st one on Genesis is brutal. If you shoot just 1 hostage it makes you repeat the level. So you really need to be a good cop to win.
Now we're talking! Mad dog mcree migtht get a modern re-release but THIS is what was hot at the arcades back then. Man, that final boss was really annyoing.
Galloping Ghost is video game nerd heaven on Earth.
It sure is :-)
Oh man. My friend and I reached the Train Robbery on Sega Genesis, when we were kids. I had no idea we were so close to the end of the game!
We had an Operation Wolf in the little town I grew up in. If I had the money that game made in arcades world wide I wouldn't be going to work tomorrow.
I know, it was extremely popular around here as well
Nice I love the sega cd version, played it yesterday.
*PatmanQC* I seriously love your videos. You've clearly done a ton of research for each game featured on your channel and like many of your subscribers, you have a personal experience playing many of these arcade classics! Also, the last time I played a video game in my home using a lightgun... Duck Hunt was still a thing. Geez, I'm so old! 😂😂
Thank you my friend, I really appreciate the nice words. You are right, I do have a personal experience with all of these games that I cover. By the way, I loved duck hunt :-)
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries , I got to Round 100 on Game A of that game, and around 6,000,000 points, Round 91 for Game C, and only Round 50 for Game B of that game. Also, in Vs. Duck Hunt, Game A is the Game B from the home version of the game, Game B is the Game C from the home version of the game, and Game C is basically a clay pigeon version of Arcade Game A/Home Game B...oh, and you can also shoot the dog.
Such a great game. I had the Sega CD version, which was awesome. Now I'm playing it on my MAME cabinet with the Sinden lightgun and I'm a kid all over again!
That sounds like a lot of fun, I don't have a Mame cabinet but wish I did
As back catalogues go Konami's is truly epic.
Lethal Enforcers is a timeless classic!!! Oooooooh yeeeeeeeeeah
Cool tip- In the car chase levels, If you shoot the gas cap area a flame will ignite. The car won't blow up but still cool.
That is cool, I didn't know that
This applies with the Arcade and SNES port. The genesis only let you flatten the tires.
I got leg cramps playing Police911 lol I miss these kind of arcade games. Time Crisis was a mainstay.
I have so many fond memories playing this in the arcade and on the Sega. Thank you for the video!
Also seeing the Firebird in there makes me miss my first car.
“HELLLLLP MEE!” Says the hostage with a somewhat squeaky shrill voice.
I've enjoy this video and other documentary Retro video games and it is inspire to keep the classic games alive. Keep the classic games video documentaries coming Patman QC. Awesome video
This video was especially fun as someone who has always been a light gun enthusiast. It's such a shame that nobody has quite mastered designing a light gun for flatscreens.
Thank you, I agree perhaps in the future they will
Patman always does a heck of a good job on his videos. Thanks for brightening up my day a bit Patman.
Absolutely, thank you so much for the nice words :-)
Man I remembered playing this when I was super young at my local arcade. The digitalized sprites and the bad guys yelling "you missed me PIG!" or "you can't kill me copper!!" really made it stand out.
It did LOL, loved it
I still own my SNES copy of this game! I still go back to it for shits and giggles, lol!
since i'm completely obsessed with this game, of course youtube will recommend this video. i think lethal enforcers for me has to be the best arcade machine ever made. just a phenomenal experience top to bottom. thanks for taking the time to make this video :)
I remember getting the snes version that came in that big old box for Christmas back when I was younger. Happy times to think about thats for sure!
New PatmanQC video! Can't wait to watch it and learn something new about an old game I used to play.
Hope you enjoy it, thanks
Another great video. Thanks PatmanQc
This is still my favorite light gun game to this day. I still play Lethal enforcers 1 and 2 with the Konami Justifier on Sega
Those turned out pretty good
I remember a local pizza place had Lethal Enforcers. Loved the game
Awesome! Thanks for the great video Patman! All the best to you and fam
Thank you very much, same to you
Such an awesome series! I played it a ton on the sega and sega cd. Still have them both and even found a sold separately justifier! I'll have to track down the ps1 version. I had no idea it existed. Awesome job with the vid Pat! 👍
Great coverage of these games. Part 3 looks a lot better graphically with polygons instead of those sprites, though the sprites have a charm to them as well. Thanks!
I do like the sprites but in this case the polygons are much better in my opinion
Great video Pat! I love me some Lethal Enforcers! I have both games for my Mega CD and both the blue and pink Justifier light guns for two player blasting action. Timeless entertainment!
Love these series of games. Never knew about the 3rd one. Gotta get that up and running my Cabinet. You should do more history on light game series. Thanks!
I spent a lot of time playing this, and actually got thw SNES port as a prize from an arcade (I think it cost 2,500 tickets) but unfortunately it was among the games thrown out by mistake when my family moved shortly before high school. I have some fond memories of laying the second game with some of my cousins and my dad a few times but didn't get to play it nearly as much as the first game because I know of three places in the town I lived in until high school that had it and several more in nearby towns and cities but the nearest cabinet for the second game I know of was in a mall almost two hours away from where I lived until the move.
I tried Police 911 once and it didn't go well. I have a mild form of cerebral palsy so ducking and dodging efforts didn't work well and at one point I actually fell while trying to stand up from a weapon reload. Fortunately neither the machine nor I suffered any harm. I hadn't even heard of Lethal Enforcers 3 until I saw it at Galloping Ghosts and it was one of the games I made sure to beat before I left.
Oh shit! Pat is back!!
This is one I played back in the day. I only spent a few coins on it. I'd played Mad Dog McCree at around that time too, and I much preferred that game. However, in retrospect, Mad Dog kinda didn't have as much gameplay, and the pace was much slower.
ANOTHER great episode PAT! I was (more or less) playing this on my friends SEGA CD without my folks knowing back in the day LOL! 👊💥🇺🇸
LOL, that's hilarious. Thanks
Ahhh I loved this game. Thank you for a great upload Pat this one was a gem. Don’t know if you heard it but the sound effect for the main revolver is the same used throughout the Dirty Harry movies for his model 29 Magnum.
No kidding? Now that is really cool. Wish I would've known that little bit of nugget put in there. Thanks for the info :-)
Man, the only light gun game i liked more than this was Area 51, though that might be because the Area 51 game was 4 lives / quarter and this was only 3 at my local arcade.
Area 51 is great
Area 51 also had the hidden predator mode! Loved playing through the game like that.
I Heard of AREA 51. AREA 51 2 Something. And Finally MAXIMUM FORCE Arcade Games. All Arcade Games Were Release By Midway Games ATARI Games Under by ATARI Interactive Entertainment Games And Finally Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment Games.
Love this presentation. Takes me back to the arcades! Would frequently play this as well as other classics like StarBlade.
Same here!Thank you
For the Lethal Enforcers Playstation Game Compilation, do note that there is no support for the GunCon peripheral. Unofficial patches will have to be applied for GunCon compatibility.
Thanks for the info
Another great video! Keep 'em comin'
Thanks! Will do!
another great trip down memory lane! Thank you!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Another nice video of a game i've never played.
Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it , Thank you
Your channel is so good. Well done !
Thank you! Cheers!
Great as usual! I added this one to a recent CarnEvil Arcade1Up mod! I put a big 32 inch monitor for a more arcade-perfect gameplay feel.
Sounds great! I would love to own one
I used to play on the arcade when I was a childhood, blue lightgun is my favorite.
Up until a few years ago I had no idea a Lethal Enforcers III even existed. I own the first two games for Mega CD. I do still need to collect the games for Mega Drive.
This just makes me want to play some PS1 light gun games. Ill be forever grateful for the crazy cat lady who lives behind me for throwing out the nice Sharp CRT TV - it even have component hookups and a flat screen (instead of the older ones that bow out).
Thanks for the video upload. I grew up with guns. Watching shoot um up action movies, cop movies and I loved this game, it's sequel and Underfire, great times before my time in the Army. It's trippy looking at this little youtube history video on this game.
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries hey boss, do you have a video on Lock n' Loaded and Underfire?
Thanks Patman!
THANK YOU! I've waited months to see this one. Now that Lethal Enforcers is onscreen, might I suggest the history of the Time-Crisis series?
JFTR, I never even knew about the third installment!
Great video!!
Part of arcade history!
I kind of miss the home console light guns they should bring them back
I agree
Complete nightmare indeed, to expect a single cop with only a .38 revolver at his side to take down a fully armed Apache attack helicopter is beyond crazy.
LOL, dirty Harry could do it
Seems like in the hearings the "Justifier" moniker for the gun was the key talking point related to Lethal Enforcers.
So many great memories thanks to this arcade machine, also the music is still very inspiring.
Couldn't agree more!
I appreciate your content. Hope you are in good health, friend.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate the nice words :-) I'm still recuperating which is taking longer than I thought. Virtual fingers crossed. Thanks for your concern cheers
YOU MISS ME ! Lol! Love those voice overs
LOL, so to wipe
Good video mate. You should do one one Area 51 arcade
I remember being so excited to get this for my birthday on Sega when I was a kid, lots of fond memories. I still play both games with my son. I lucked out and found a player 2 gun for a good price a few years back. The controller cannot compare to the Justifier.
Ah, good times. Way back before the local arcade gave way to a clothing shop and liquor store, one of the staff was doing their daily maintenance on the Lethal Enforcers cabinet right around the time I was going to play. Guess they must have known how much play this machine got from me, since they left 99 credits after they finished their work.
Cue the next hour or so playing through all those credits, guns akimbo. Now the guns on this cabinet were not the factory issue colored plastic ones; these were black metal guns that may have been for a Mad Dog McCree cab. Holding one for a long time is not that easy, and here I was with one gun in each hand... still somehow managed four loops of the game, although my forearms were sore the next day.
That same arcade also had the first two Police 911 games (not at the same time) and the first Silent Scope. My initials were still on the top score for all these games until the arcade closed shop.
About the guns, some operators swapped the Konami revolvers months after the game came out for the stock metal revolvers, which added realism in the gun's weight.
I had forgotten this game years back. Man. This was nostalgia
I remember playing this at the arcade, so much fun. I liked the second game better because of the western theme, didn’t see too many of those. I never bought or played any of the home versions. It didn’t appeal to me and a game like Lethal Enforcers is meant to be played in an arcade. Thanks for the review.
Absolutely, I preferred the second one as well
I remember renting this from blockbuster came with two guns and the case 😀😀
@PatmanQC the History Channel of Videogame Industry
Another great video
Thanks again!
Theres cameos of Tamakichi Sakura (Charlie Nozawa) and Sensha Yoshida in the Famitsu version of the SNES one
I remember it being so incredible that I could actually play this on my Sega Genesis! I literally wore out a Konami justifier and ordered another one! Later on I had it on PS1 and it was a party favorite. The game would almost always be going in the background when we had people over to our house.
*Bang* *Bang* Ugh! Reload! Didn't know about the 2nd game or the prequel, nice finds.
Thank you
Surprised this video hasn't been flagged yet. Lol. Fantastic videos! Keep them up!
I would like to see Konami re-release Lethal Enforcers 1 & 2 remastered but with new actors and updated physics and graphics.
That would be very cool
We need a new version of Lethal Enforcers
What do you think of Raw Thrill's Target: Terror (2004 by Eugene Jarvis) in the arcade and the Wii (as the Gold Edition port).
They were supposed to make a "Target: Terror 2" but it was canceled. Hopefully they'll change there mind and get going with the project.
I always felt that the bad guys in Lethal Enforcers came straight out of a Dirty Harry movie. Now I know why.
@PatmanQC - History of arcade game documentaries, Lethal Enforcers II also had appearances on the SNES/NSFC and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive as well.
I mentioned it appeared on the Genesis and Sega CD in my video. It was planned for the super Nintendo but was never released
I remember during the Chinatown assault once a guy was next to me as I shotgunned a close-up stabbing enemy in the face.
He looked on and said.”That looked like it hurt.”
LOL that's hilarious
Spent a lot of money on that game. Got it for my 13th birthday for the Genesis.
Mr Patman sir thank you for this video. I didnt know the SEGA CD marketing/packaging before hahaha
Absolutely glad you enjoyed it
i remember the arcade.. my big mistake was remembering to reload so I'll be ready for some fights
This game was awesome, loved playing it as a kid👍🏼😎
one of my favorites for the time i even had a copy of the game for my Sega Genesis CD the only issue we had with it was that it need a fairly large tv to use it on since it didnt track too well on smaller tv's.
I love police 911 in the arcades back in the '90s. my other favorite Konami shooter was silent scope I even bought it on the Xbox with both colored sniper rifles. That way I could turn them into shotguns and use them in House of the Dead 3 best light guns ever.
Police 911 was supposed to get ported to the u.s. Playstation 2 but was canceled. The Japanese Ps2 version was released which is called "The Keisatsukan". It uses a camera to use your dodging and ducking movements which I have. The European version is called "Police 24/7". Police 911 2 never received a port.
Awesome memories with this game.
The missing animations from the SNES version were due to Nintendo of America's policies against realistic violence at the time. Having the enemies wince when they were shot was too realistic, so that's why they just disappear without wincing.+
Hey kids don't worry getting shot isn't painful!
Also, notice that the red shot effects were changed to blue for player 1 and green for player 2 which in a way felt more like a paintball sim.
@@figment1988 Yeah, that too. My dad said it looked more like glass breaking.
The arcade and PlayStation also had a Lethal Enforcer clone called Maximum Force also a 2 player game and gameplay and graphics use digitized sprites as well.
Maximum Force is also hidden gem light gun arcade shooter.
Thanks for the info
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries Maximum Force was made and developed by Atari games.
