Hasn't aged a day...perfect death metal. Also, Dallas' growls are so wonderfully phrased and delivered, it's a shame he never got the credit he deserves as a vocalist per the genre.
George Kollias and Nile, the Annihilation of the Wicked album in particular, was the catalyst that got me into extreme drumming. I remember when this video first appeared on the tv show Uranium. I must have been drooling when I saw his one footed blastbeats. George Kollias really changed the drumming game for me. Lots of respect to him and Nile.
The level of musicianship is off the fucking charts, Dallas over here banging his skullet looking like an absolute maniac, Karl growling and shredding from the depths of hell with a fucking spear guitar, and Kolias headbanging doing 360 bpm blast beats.
That 'wall of noise' is just sublime lol. Lots of death metal bands try to achieve it, but only a few get the balance between heaviness, melodic structure, drumming, vocals and guitars as perfectly as Nile. Like a symphony that comes together perfectly.
You are in for a real treat if you haven't checked out their discography yet. Nile is an unbelievable band. Annihilation of the Wicked in particular is fantastic.
It is always at 2:14 that gives me the goosebumps. The entire song builds up a feeling of energy which is released at that point for me for some reason.
Hmm I'm falling more and more in love with this music. The energy, the athmosphere, the brutality... it gives me the chills when I listen to it, in a good way. Hard to describe but it is awesome anyway!!

That's exactly what happened with me. I just heard their vocals and I just continued to listen to Death and Pantera. I fell in love with this album also. I also enjoyed their latest album, At The Gate Of Sethu.
SmokeCheesus That's nice man! There are many bands that I now love (and cant stop listening to) that I used to dislike until I actually paid attention to the music and the technicality behind it. Really what this teaches us metalheads is that metal is not easy-listening background music, some of the more technical bands require us to really pay attention to be able to appreciate their music. Metal is not music to enjoy as a background sound, but it requires attention from the listener in order to appreciate the true depths of the music \m/
SmokeCheesus well based that, ill give these guys a chance. I was about to look for something else, ill listen to a full album atleast 1 time through. Nopers.
Fotis Bernardo and George Kollias are both awesome Greek drummers
I bought my Axis Longboard pedals because of George and what he did here. Made the single-foot blastbeats cleaner.😊

I've seen Nile at least 35x at a club in SC called Ground Zero in the 90s. Fukn awesome to see them worldwide now. Always impressive.
Buck Lee I've seen plenty of bands at ground zero.. fixing to go see Hate and Belphegor there in November
That’s a great fucking name for a club.
These numbers impress. Hell yes!
Truly in a class of their own. Phenomenal writing. Easily one of the most creative unique bands in death metal.
in all metal!!!!! atmospheree! riffs!!! vocals! song structure!!! they are awesome...
