I feel sick: 2024 Triumph Rocket 3 R Storm first ride

- Triumph's given the 2.5-litre Rocket 3 more power for 2024, because that's precisely what it needed. Here's my very first ride on the 182hp silly machine, including a look at the updates from last year, and just some general riding impressions on country roads with a bit of giggling and a weird section about that cat from Shrek 2 with the cute eyes.

Your commentary is truly next level. You manage to weave humor and a hearty level of wit into a solid bike review to make for an entertaining and informative video. Please keep it up!
Enjoyed your video on the Rocket 3. About 3 months ago after searching all over the states for just the right one for me I purchased a very low mileage ‘triple black’ my other bike at the time was a k1600. I only put about 70 miles in 2 months on the beemer and sold it! I’ve added panniers and a taller windscreen on the gt for touring duty. 4000 miles in those 3 months. Bike #16.
All looks amazing looking forward to seeing it running one of my favourite ducati.😊
Brilliant as always, Tim🏍️👍
I might purchase another one. I have my 2022 in my man cave. I love it. Makes me smile. 32 bikes since 1971.
I pick mine up on Saturday, been toying with the idea since the gen 2 came out 5 years ago. I finally took the plunge chopping in a Tuono v4
I have a 2023-R and the Torque is so, that you can actually momentarily stop the Earth rotation if you pull away in the opposite direction. The Engine is absolutely Nuclear !!
Thanks for a great video Tim! The Rocket is definitely not my sort of bike, but I love that it exists - something so bonkers, but still well engineered and practical (to a point). My request for your review video(s) would be to try to get more of that wonderful soundtrack coming through - it is almost like there are hints of an air-cooled 911 coming through, and sounds just wonderful in its own right, too 😀
Excellent! The Rocket 3 is a truly marvellous creature 🙂 more monster than machine 😁 You quite rightly sound overjoyed 😄😄
what a ludicrous mad bike..love it ..and one of the funniest adverts for anything when the original came out ..still on youtube somewhere def worth a look and laugh..
I wonder if the badger survived
its the change of direction jab that does me in
Now when you say you’re “old” I have news for you……🤣
As always the running commentaries are the stand out feature and the reason why I watch, doesn’t really matter what you’re riding a bike, a horse or even a lady….hmm there’s a thought 🤔
"Lunch Time Wobble" 👍
Ive got a sportster 48 & contemplating a Rocket 3.
I rode a 2021 Rocket 3 GT at 102 degrees Fahrenheit or 38.xx centigrade and didn’t feel any heat....of course I was going 152 mph and ride was only 3 miles.😁😁
I love the blackout, but I am finding some crazy deals on 2023 chrome edition near me. I kinda like the contrast of that one.
I considered one of these, ended up getting a Speed Triple RS 1200 instead; I test rode this and a Hayabusa, and I suppose it's the byproduct of being a rather short fella, but the Rocket felt unwieldy - agile for a large ride to be sure, but just too much to muscle about in the garage (despite my being a weightlifter) with any degree of ease, and too bloody big for some of my preferred roads... and then there was the price. A grand ride to be sure, but I do wonder who the target market is.
After 2.5 years on my Speed Triple 1200rs I've gone to a Rocket 3 R storm.
Pick it up next week.
I loved the Speedy but just didn't make use of is power, most of it is around 9000 rpm, just something I didn't use commuting..
Wonderful and bonkers.
You've absolutely nailed it! 🤗
Alot of people don't realize, that the rear Brake is also a "Redial" Caliper, as opposed to most rear brakes that are Axial.
The last triumph triple I rode was a trident!
Made the mistake of test riding a rocket. It stole my soul and now I really want one. You owe it to yourself to ride one it’s awesome and most definitely I would have it as my only bike in a heartbeat!
My dealership didn’t give me this beauty for a test ride. He said it’s a lot of bike for me and gave me the speedmaster. I test rode the speedmaster and bought the R3GT. Once you fall in love, it’s very difficult to let her go ❤. She is an absolute beauty 🥰
@@ariesworld7 enjoy it 😁

🙂🙂
I like your camera angle
221Nm of torque? What the heck?! I had to go and check that figure, must be mind blowing!
This version actually has 225 Nm...221 was the old model up to 2023... 😂
...and yes, it's mind blowing and absolutely glorious! ♥️🥲
Loved my 2019 3R, used to spin rear wheel in sport and power wheelied once without trying which was 'invigorating' ... Q. saw some mixed reports that this Euro5b version was heavier overall despite wheels Tim. Saw one figure of around 345kg wet whereas my 19 version was 309kgs, surely some sort of Hinckley creative accounting going on?
This would be my 4th.
Should i take black, red or blue ?
Hi Tim. Thanks for the video. Great stuff. I have the GT Storm, having changed from a Panigali V4S. Two completely different bikes but, honestly, the Rocket is more fun (as the Panigali just wanted to kill me 😂). As you say, you can cruise along, or rotate the Earth backwards in equal measure. This idiot fully endorses the Rocket and believes every middle aged biker with bad shoulders, wrists, back and beer belly etc. should ride one at least once. Thanks, again for the great video😊👍
🎉I just want 1 , ❤
Tim, you are really tempting me with this bike!
I'd barely have the room in my garage for it so it would have to be my only bike. Question is, would it make sense as just that?
If you can afford it and can move a heavy bike around easily. Tires are expensive. Servicing is expensive
Tim Rodie, did you notice if the footpegs can be raised a half an inch vertically? Were you scraping any pegs when leaning over on curves?
Wide tires place the bike higher when at an angle. My bobber has never touched down, but I also lean off the bike in good curves.
You need to be riding like an idiot to scrape pegs.
@@logangodofcandy Logan, yeah..hehe..I'm thinking about either the ktm 1390R Evo or the Triumph 3R Storm. Not sure which one will be more reliable since it(whichever bike) will be a daily bike for me...
@@markettradinggeniusTriumph definitely more reliable. KTM isn’t horrible, but has been a bit of a gamble recently. Absolutely fantastic bikes…. But the electronics and other odds and ends have been known to go bollocks up. Can’t go wrong with either but I’d make sure to have a warranty if going KTM where-as Triumph I wouldn’t be worried.
@@theguitarhero898 I agree, something within me is telling me to go with the rocket 3R storm edition instead of the KTM ! It's just that the electronics on the KTM really isn't that great and I've got this 'tengingly' feeling that Triumph Rocket will be alot more reliable for a longer distance and period of time(100,000 miles easily without issues)...
@@markettradinggeniusi daily ride my rocket and the reliability has been excellent.
My 4th bike
The tested the Diavel V4 against this bike and it comfortably beat it in every performance test 0-60! Roll on! Handling etc etc.
The Diavel and the Rocket III only get compared because they're both kind of weird and don't fit neatly into any category. They're quite different bikes now with somewhat different aims. The Diavel has evolved into something much closer to a (big) naked bike while the RIII is still basically a mad power cruiser.
If I were in the market for a big, burly bike (I'm not), could only have one bike in the garage, and I had to choose one of these bikes, I'd choose the Diavel. But with one or two other sporty bikes, I might choose the Rocket because it's something very different.
0-60 should be the last thing one considers when choosing a motorcycle though (imo)
@rafaelcordoba13 correct but I'm just correcting the journalist in this video.
So which one do you really want, Ducati diavel V4 or the rocket 3 r..??
Rocket3, or I’d have a Diavel in the garage instead
What’s the heat like coming off the engine Tim?
I felt it a bit in town, but I only rode at town speeds for about 5 minutes... in a British autumn.
I’ve had the 3R since 2021, live in Queensland Australia, it undoubtably gives off a lot of heat whist riding stops start, for lengths of time over 15mins, but it’s not unbearable. On the move, no problem
Tim, "make you smile like putting sausages up your bottom..."... ;) WTF!? ;) LOL. Waste of perfectly good sausages, that need to be eaten, no? ;) :) :D I'd say 4th bike (if you have THAT kind of money to spend on bikes, TBH!!, *THEN* I'd have one.... :D ) MT10, KTM 790/890/990, Monkey, this, green lane bike, Electric Bike... something like that! ;) :) :D
If Ron Jeremy was a motorcycle…
I'm new rider without any experience. I just passed my test and looking for my first bike. I love, love, love the Rocket 3. If I'm mature about it, could this work as my first bike?
first check your insurance, for me with 0 years NCB it was £3700 a year. However with 1 year NCB I think that got halved.
Even if you have money, I would recommend getting something smaller , like speed 400 ( I am planning on buying one) and later get something bigger if you like
@rexnflex1469 I have a different opinion. If you like it and have it right in your head, go for it. It's a good bike if you ride it sensibly. It's easy to handle considering the weight and comfortable. Just as I say, you have to remember it's a powerful machine and unless you have experience, I wouldn't go faster than 120km/h on it!!! So be extremely careful.
With the fuel map in the rain, it's a perfectly docile bike even for a beginner and easy to handle due to the low centre of gravity.
20 years ago you started Uni….you are but a wee boy.
Do you celebrate your birthday with the cheapest fish n chips you can find?
You rode the wrong Harley 👍
These look GREAT!
Prodigious 🥸
