You found your niche in the game friend good content man
Thanks fam.
Totally confirms why I’ve been using this as my production studio centerpiece for 20 years! Thanks for doing this series man!
U don't need to change. I do this full time and I have everything. I welcome software drum programs superior drummer more for live drums, battery, maschine.. and can create on all, but the MPC 2000XL is my desert island pick, because it makes me create in a different way thats more physical, eyes off the computer..Its sequencer and sound engine is amazing, it has a special tone and knock to it, regardless of what style of music you create and it locks w other machines like a tank..The best investment anyone could make.. When I got my 2000 it only came w one floppy disk 2 stock 15 stock sounds.then they upgraded the zip disk for the 2500.
Still have my 2kxl. Had plenty offers from ppl that wanted to buy it from me, but I refuse to relinquish it. The feel of the pads is phenomenal and, like someone said, using the slider to trim samples made workflow better. The only complaint I had was the timestretching. It took so long sometimes that I could go take a shit, come back to it and it'll still be timestretching lol... Overall, one of my fav purchases EVER!
I feel you fam.
I use it to sequence all of my gear. Solid. Pro tip: you can avoid using the wheel to trim samples (which takes forever) by using the slider while holding SHIFT.
Oh ok cool.
What?! How did only just learn this trick after owning mine for nearly a decade lol.
@@dalejohnson1796 not surprised! I don't know where I read about it... This was one of the main reasons why I sold my 2000 and got the XL (that, and no folder support on the 2000... Huge mess of files). That SHIFT+SLIDER to trim is life-changing. Reminds me... I need to make a 2KXL Part 2 video on my channel, and cover sampling. Lots of SP-1200 stuff there BTW 👋
sweet.. thanx
I realize it is pretty randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online?
I have a MPC Live Retro Edition, and the reason why I got it, is the feeling it gives me of why I fell in love with Hip Hop back in the day. Please keep doing what you're doing homie, this is definitely a great series!!🙏🏾✊🏾🔥🔥🔥
Thanks fam.
Currently own the 60/3000/2000/2000XL/2500SE/Live and enjoy watching your videos and hear your thoughts on specific machines.
Thats alot of dope gear bro..Thanks fam!
XL or 2500? Strictly for sound quality..
@@_UH0H both sound good. the XL is a little bit more grimey for sure, but the 2500 has more features and a few fx as a standard.
Love this series you doing. This MPC is my main one that I use. It's still as good as ever
No doubt.
Already know you hot then lol. Peace.

Best rubber pads of all mpcs; Soft on the corners and firm in the centre
Nice.
Still got mine! Bought it used in early 2000s my second one, sold the first. Also picked up a 2000 about 10 years ago for $150 at a pawnshop!
Good deal!
Damn you won one
The first MPC that let you load up multiple programs at once. Game changer for me. You could make a program of all kicks, all snares, hats, etc. and have them all loaded up and switch between them for the first time.
Yeah. it was a trend setter.
Damu the Fudgemunk is the one dude who takes his 2000XL in the park, and blast his beats. If you were in NYC somewhere when you were in that cypher, it was probably him.
Oh word??..Maybe.
@@DyReckProductions Yeah, man. You said he had like braids or cornrows, and you were in the city at the time? If so, it was definitely him. He's a cool cat. He's the ONLY dude in NYC that does that. That's kind of his thing.
I think damu has a regular 2000 dude
@@devondetroit2529 definitely a 2000 classic
Yup Damu has the classic with no mods just 8 outs. I used to chit chat with him back in the day. Reallllly nice guy who knows his breaks...
Thanks for another great mpc review, like the mpc’s 3000 & 60 this will be another classic.
Its definitely a classic.
Great review, the 2000XL has stood the test of time!
Thanks fam.
Just ordered my first one! Can’t wait. It should come by Thursday or Friday 😎😎 can’t wait!
Nice.
My first mpc. Got it new at Mars Music. One of the best days of my life 😂
Wow mars music!..Nice.
@@DyReckProductions wish they were still around!!!
This is what literally got me started in the beat game!! Only issue was that damn screen that used to go out. Once you started to get those lines going across the screen you knew what time it was!🤣
Lol. I feel u.
I love this series! can you do the Korg Triton? or the other lesser known Korg Karma...Preciate you homie for the good videos taking us back down memory lane!
Karma is the shit
there was a karma at the studio i worked at back in 2010, but nobody touched it but me. I thought it had potential. I wonder if they'll sell it to me?? hmmm
Much Respect Dyreck enjoying your videos brother 👊🏾 blessings 💯
Thanks bro..I appreciate it.
That performance was on SNL too, he had ballerinas and it was unforgettable, had the MPC on this Roman pillar looking thing. Personally felt it was the best SNL music performance. I can’t find it on UA-cam cause NBC/Comcast is so stingy with their copyright laws
Yeah man. Good shit. Can't lie, I'm slightly hooked on these videos. I'm the guy who used Ps2 music generater2 and minidisk to get my shit off in 2002
love my 2000xl, also loving this series
Thanks.
couldn't said it better myself man...shits an animal. its like the beat was just meant to be on these things lol
Truth!! We leaned heavy on the 2000 XL here in Detroit making techno. Used two of em at the same time to create poly rhythms. Them machines was like AK's 123 shoot, no bullshit in between rounds get the work done. Jaguar walking MM
Lol I feel you..The XL is a workhorse!
still in my studio...
love it!
Nice.
The beginning of the video is the video that convinced me to start making beats with 16 pads
Yeah Pete Rock was smooth on it lol.
Speaking of taking a 2000 or 2000xl around, I was just watching Hustle & Flow and I thought of the scene where Shelby pulls out his MPC 2000.
That scene is probably what inspired me to start making beats over a decade ago and eventually copped an xl cuz of that lol
This was my first MPC.
The beat in the background is smooooth, great video
I love these videos man! Did you ever do one on the Roland MV8000?
Nah..not yet..Thats a good one. I did the MV8800 though.
Nice serie you have there.. Been watching all the vids
Pete Rock wit the smooth chops lol!
Yeah man.
How u feel about the push 2?
@@AIRJAVITUBE Im not a Ableton user but I heard people say that after using push 2 you cant use Ableton without it.
Really happy bout these vids
Thanks fam.
Good series, my dude, I subscribed last week..
Thanks fam.
1st mp I've owned. Thinking about grabbing another one
I feel u.
LOVE MPC 200XL! DID GLITCH OUT ON ME! BUT THE ROLAND MV 8000 NEVER BACKED DOWN!
Lol I feel u.
I got the Live II which isn't too bad of a device, but these vintage ones to me seem like a rite of passage. The live II is great, but it feels more like a laptop to me than anything else (and that's actually awesome)
I feel you on that. I own the live II as well and still I feel like the older Mpcs are a rite of passage too. How’s do you like live II?
Thats the exact reason why i have avoided the Live. But i do like the form factor-very sleek!
Ok it's 2021 I had a blue 2000xl back in 2009I couldn't figure it out. I think it's about time for me to take a second stab at it.
It may seem complex but it’s really not if you understand a lil bit.
I may asked already under another Video from you but do you have any eperiences with Yamaha Grooveboxes like SU700?
Its a pretty dope machine..I never put my hands on one..Its definitely on my list to do a video on.
Lovin these recaps bro 🔥
Thanks fam.
@@DyReckProductions
No doubt! Brother jawn thorough
Lovin it!!! Where is my fav classic 2000!!! :)
lol coming soon.
This channel is so fire
If you're into breaks/loops, move on. There's a bug where you have to add a couple of dead seconds to your samples if you want them to loop right once they're in a program. I struggled with it for a couple of years before getting real and getting an SP1200.
Oh wow ok.
3:19 ha there is actually one at the Smithsonian and it's J-dilla's but you knew that hehe.
Actually it's his MPC 3000
Yeah thats actually pretty dope.
Funny what you said about Alicia Keys, I just recently saw a picture of her at like 13 or 14 with an sp1200 and I think it was an mpc3000
Oh ok cool.
My 1st MP 🥰
Nice.
I still have my 2000 XL💪🏾
Nice!
The 2500 and 2000xl are great sequencers.
Yup.
Love it man.
One of my main regrets in life is buying an MPC2000XL over an SP1200. SP1200 is the sound of Hip-Hop. Especially drums. It's a cool UI and the layout is awwsome, (I had the zip disk too so plenty of space) but the MPC has no sonic personality whatsoever. That jog wheel tho was butter.
Oh ok I feel u.
Look into the Rosum 1200 if you want the SP1200 V2. If you want an emu,at or, Low-hiss ESPI.
I love my mpc2000xl.
I want this in 2022.
I feel you!
Love my 2000xl.
I feel u.
Cool video bro! 👍🏼
Thanks fam.
Damu dude a legend
Lol.
still trying to find one of these as a project piece but everyone wants $400 for a damaged one and i can get a working one for $600. I just had so much fun customizing my 1000
I feel you.
Only option I like about 2000XL is the factory Multi Card Reader in the MCD model. Other than that, I prefer the 2000 "classic."
Have to agree with you. I do not turn my XL at all. It is in the original box. Lolol. Something about the 2k classic compared to XL
@@titanjake8640 lemme snag that
@@hublotkingcole683 lololol don't want to break up my collection lol want to pass it on to someone in my will
I rarely use auto chop with the mpc one. I always chop maually
I feel u.
The 2000xl has one of the best sequencers, but I hated the scsi drive and the moment wasn't enought for me 32 MB of RAM ugh!!!!!
Lol I feel you.
This is great content for the community.
I want mpc, but I been making beats in reason and logic, to go dawless sounds so scary to me.
Right now the new mpc's are like a daw basically..Just in a hardware box..The ONE is the best buy for the money.
Make the switch to the off white beige big box hardware and you’ll never go back. Daw will only be used to record into and mixing/mastering. Programming your actual beats tho…you can’t replicate that feeling by using daw. Not even a midi padded box to the comp can capture the workflow of a true vintage hardware sampler
I know when you do them in the night when people are sleeping, and when in the day when people aren't home ahahah
Lol.
Never remember it being $2600. But I remember it being $1300 and still couldn’t afford it
Lol I feel you.
I got one and sent it back I didn't understand why it didn't have any sounds looking back I needed sample packs but I was use to keyboard workstations but the mpc's now come with plenty of real radio hit sounds and all the functions of old with software so they are only moving forward and the live has a battery I mean what more can you want.
I still regret selling mine
I feel u.
i got mine for $300 off eBay
quit watching videos on it and just make beats
Nice..that's a good price.
Imma let you finish, but the MPC 4000 is the best MPC.
Lol.
Virtual Hi5
the 2000XL is good, but i would never buy one 2000XL again. the 1000 is far better imo. a SD and Hard drive is already included, bigger LCD, more RAM, not as bulky than a XL and a more advanced non official OS.
Yeah the 1000 is technically convenient..Alot of folks like to bang out on the XL..They feel its more straight forward as far as the making beat process.
DRUGS BEATS the dude that makes beats for dr dre lives by the mpc2000xl....that dude is the chop master he's like NOTTZ evil brother lol
Lol.
@@DyReckProductions im serious bro lol..check this dude out on the mpc2000xl..instagram.com/p/CLfdptVFObK/.
Hehheheheh the MPC hehehhehe so this and this happened hehehhehe 🙄
Pin: Damu used the 2k Classic
Sidenote: that kanye performance was so staged and fake to me. He did nothing impressive. It was like nobody but him had one or something. Man I was pissed when I saw that clip. We underground cats always did live performances with our machines all of a sudden it is jaw dropping when he does it. Man come on.
Get Premo or someone else (during that time) to do a live performance. My opinion.
