I currently play Ultramarines in HH 2. I've played UM in 40k since I started in 2006. I run a generic Praetor and a Master of Signals for the Logos Lectora, plus a Chaplain with my 10 Invictarus Suzerain whom I run as a retinue in a Landraider with the Praetor. I run 2 Contemptor dreads (LC, LC and LC, Fist) and 2 Castraferrum Dreadnoughts. I run a 20 man Tactical Squad with chain bayonets in a Spartan, and a 10 man Tactical Squad with bayonets in a Rhino. I run a 5 man Destroyer Squad with jump packs, to weaken enemies with Rad grenades. I run a 7 man Plasma Tactical Support Squad in a Rhino, and 10 man Vulkite Culverin Heavy Support Squad.
Something I've been considering doing with the Ultras is getting some Volkite Caviliers. The rite of war or the +1 to nearby shooters i thought would be on getting more volkite hits in. What are your thoughts on that?
I had moderate success with my air wing ultras last Ed keen to see how they do this edition. I have 2 transports an will be adding 2 heavy slot flyers also.my army is based on betrayer final battle.
Great stuff as alway bus 😁 just curious what do you think of Assault Squads HH 2.0 as a whole for any army worth it or bad or just a decent choice to mix things up? Just curious as haven't seen many people use or talk about them as a whole.
Loved the video as always. One thing I noticed (and other commenters feel free to shout me down) was that the new title card style the channel is using is a bit harder to spot in my subscriptions than the previous images on a white background. The white always stood out against all the other channels and I'd make sure to watch, whereas I only found this video by scrolling through a few times. Not intended as a criticism, just some feedback.
As an Ultramarines player, I disagree about your assessment of Remus Ventanus. He’s way more expensive than a vanilla praetor and has a worse stat line, he also can’t get the mantle of ultramar, so can be easily instant killed. Any game you take him, he’s probably gonna have to hide at the back of the board or he’s an easy target to take out. Also, his warlord trait is great, but only in games with objectives, which realistically is only going to come into play in two of the six mission types, so unless you know you’re playing an objective game, it’s a big risk.
New to the channel and catching up. While a good video for a new player like myself, maybe some suggestions on how to literally build the legion? “Buy yourself 1 starter box, 1 heavy weapons box, 1 Kratos, and 2 suzerain squads to hit 1500 points and take advantage of xyz ROW” like literally tell me how to start efficiently cause I’m an idiot lol 😂
Useful video, but can anyone point me to a good starter explanation of the gameplay? A lot of vids seem to assume I already have a base knowledge, but I’m a noob who’s mostly interested in painting so far. I want a mother reason to keep painting!
Guilliman has led charges im pretty sure he gives an awesome speech and fights word bearers. Im pretty sure the cover for the battle at calth book shows him fucking guys up. I think it makes sense too bc in a melee hes going to beat almost anything that comes his way bc he's a primarch so if he was around he'd probably build his plan around that if he was going to fight.
@Jonahhi it's in the combination of Guilliman and the Logos Lectora. Take for example the Invictarus Suzerains. Solid unit by any measure, add the Logos Retribution Strike to make them WS6(!) and +1 charge. They're still swinging s4 ap2 axes, so a weaker power axe without Unwieldy. Add Guilliman. Choose either Fleet (2) for a further +2 to your charge - an average of 10" charge roll! - or Furious charge to make those axes s5, now exactly a power axe without Unwieldy. Or, you're looking at the table and realizing you're going to get charged. Logos Retribution and Guilliman Counter-attack. The key with Guilliman is Preternatural strategy is army wide, like the Logos. These two are perfect synergies. You're playing cagey, avoiding the enemy getting too close, and then bam give your entire army +3" charge for a hell of a shock. Or Furious Charge for tactical marines with WS5 and S5. Finally don't forget his army wide +1 Ld. If you're stuck in combat, hold the line from the Logos and stubborn from Guilliman for army wide ld10 and Stubborn
Yep. True. I play very combat focussed. I run a 20-man Tactical Squad with chain bayonets, and they always catch people out. In my last game I wrecked an Iron Warriors Terminator Squad using that Squad, which only had 16 Tactical Marines, and the Retribution Strike.
Hey man, not to be rude, but all of these Legions suck. Why don't ya try to do a good Legion, like the Blood Angels? Ya know, a Legion that doesn't suck? ;-)

Locutarus Storm Squad! That's what it is! The names on these things. Yeesh.
Absolute monsters
Storm squad are thugs solid last Ed even better now. 👌
I love that light blue on them. The starter set looks like it would go a long way with Ultramarines, tempted to get another box haha.
Two seems to be the right amount... 😅
@@blackbriargaming5483 Big time yeah haha.
This is a lot nicer than the last one you did on the 13th. Thank you.
You're welcome! People take their Legions very seriously it seems! So got to show love to all 18 of them :D
A God tier video for the BEST legion of them all you love to see it

For sure! I think volkute will become a lot more relevant as we see more non-Legion armies hit the table too!
I run 10 Volkite in my Ultramarines Heavy Support Squad. I put my Master of Signals with them, so they always hit on 2+ and they do SERIOUS WORK. ❤

I think they're great! But you definitely want to be deep striking them in a list that can hand out pinning to support that tactic.
@@blackbriargaming5483 aw nice thanks maybe that's why we haven't seen much of them yet as well. Thanks bud.

Good feedback! Thanks! I might try a mix of white and the new style. Let me know what you think in the next vid! 😊

Ha ha. So I have a building in the starter set video but could probably do another one now that we're well down the path
@Black Briar Gaming the invictarus suzerain squad can be use in 40k
