Thank you for these! I have had the good fortune to read and therefore recommend his relatively little known work, "Letters from Hawaii." It is both rich in news from Hawaii in the latter 19th century and the humor was exceptional and so, so Twain. He complained about the inferior tobacco products, especially Hawaii's available cigars, stating, "After smoking 5 gross of the things (720 of them) all I could think of was wanting a good smoke." Please do another one of these. You have the magic touch with Twain's humor!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment and for sharing that gem from "Letters from Hawaii"! Twain’s humor really does shine through in his lesser-known works, and your anecdote about the cigars is a perfect example. I’m thrilled you enjoyed the video, and I’ll definitely keep your suggestion in mind for future content. Stay tuned for more Twain magic!

My favorite was about heaven . When told dogs did not go to heaven , replied that when he died he wanted to go where the dogs went .

I’ll bet he was a hoot to hang with! I’d have been in stitches I’m sure.

That's a wonderful sentiment! It sounds like you're referring to the quote often attributed to Mark Twain: "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." It perfectly captures his love for dogs and his witty take on the afterlife. Thanks for sharing!

@@Geezuznotcomingforu He really must have been! Twain had a knack for blending humor with wisdom, and I can imagine he'd be great company. His quotes certainly keep us in stitches even today!

@@zurogato I was a nicotine addict for 40+ years. I often used his ‘easy to quit I’ve done it a 1000 times’ quip.
When I eventually read that every time one starts again it reinforces the addiction I got mad enough to finally quit for good.

@@Geezuznotcomingforu Wow, that’s awesome! Congrats on kicking the habit! I’m in the same boat trying to quit, and your story really hits home. Thanks for the inspiration!
